June 16, 2014 Wonder to Alaska

Hope you have a great time putting the finishing touches on the WDW wedding. My daughter had hers (ours) this past November. Ceremony at the pavilion then reception at the ADH. Had a rehearsal dessert party during illuminations at Epcot. It was a lot of fun and Disney did a great job taking care of the 'little' stuff that would normally stress out the family.

How fun - another Disney wedding! It has been fun planning and very easy with Disney. It's getting closer and closer!!

Hi all!
My DD and I will be joining you all on this cruise. We were booked for June 17, 2013 but I recently learned that I am going to need surgery so I decided to wait and take the cruise next year. I want to be completely healed/healthy when we go. :) My DD will be 11 when we take this cruise. We will follow the same plan for this trip as we were going to do this summer: fly into Vancouver and spend a few days touring, cruise, take the train to Seattle and spend a week in Washington and Oregon. Our goal is to visit all 50 states before she graduates from high school. Since we will not be cruising this summer, we will be travelling around the southern states. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and continuing to plan for this trip. :yay:

Welcome!! Sorry you're having to postpone the cruise, however I agree it's better to be healed and you'll enjoy it more that way. Plus - you get to cruise with all of us! :rotfl2: What an awesome accomplishment to visit all 50 states before she graduates! :worship:

Can't believe there is already a thread for this cruise! We just booked this past weekend while on a Valentine's Cruise (Disney Dream) to the Bahamas! Can''t wait already trying to decide which excursions to do!

Welcome! We all seem to be very excited :) I've been reading over excursions and taking notes already. I say it doesn't hurt to know in advance, plus it helps with budgeting and to get even more excited about it all!

Don't laugh you guys (ok go ahead if you need to ) I might run out to REI sports and check on the clearance jackets. I hear now is a good time to buy them since they are usually on clearance and we'll need waterproof jackets before we go. I can handle the layers, no problem, but definitely need a decent lightweight waterproof jacket. I certainly don't want to pay full price either - I'd rather have the money for the excursions and shopping!

I'm certainly not laughing! Stopped at Nautica outlet yesterday and they had jackets 70% off. Yep, I bought one for a trip that's not for another 16 months!

Just realized I don't have anything waterproof in my closet...so I'm going to REI this weekend and hopefully find a raincoat/jacket on clearance. I'll let you know what I find. This is the first time we're taking jackets on a Disney Cruise -- oh well, I think it's totally worth it for the views.

I live in the wet, wet PNW, so the concept of having nothing waterproof is foreign to me. By the end of winter I feel that I have nothing dry in my closet :scared:

Welcome!!! From a fellow Texan! Glad you joined. Sounds like you're going to have a great March. We've never done a B2B but I'm sure when the kids are older, we'll be right there with you.
I can't wait to find out what exciting excursions everyone is planning on doing.

B2B on the Fantasy sounds like a great time :dance3:

The Panama Canal is definitely on my bucket list! Next year's PC was at a terrible time for DH's work, and with this year's big splurge, it just isn't in the budget for quite some time :rotfl:

But I really want to do it someday ::yes::

The Hawaiian cruise looked fabulous! How fun that you got to do that.

:beach: The PC Cruise is AWESOME. We did the first ever EB PC in 2005. We were actually coming through the canal when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. Will never forget that day.

Going through entire canal process took us about 18 glorious hours. I still get chills thinking about it all! it was amazing...the kids that came in Panama to see the characters waving from the deck, the faces that were all looking at us from just about 40 feets away, the whole mechanical process of the locks, the alligators that were swimming in canal with the ship, the amazing train-like machines that pulled us through...finally, the view from Deck 3 when we were pulling through the locks with the historically divoted concreted that were only about 2 inches from the windows. You could not see anything but history in those windows...see, I just got chills again. So many people missed the Deck 3 thing...When you go, make sure that after being lowered into the lock, that you go down there.

I would not trade those memories!:cool1:

Hello everyone!!! First time on here.

Just booked our cruise to Alaska yesterday morning. We're so excited. We took the quick 3 day to the Bahamas last month on the Dream and absolutely loved it. It'll be me(37 at time of sailing), my boyfriend( turning 39 on 6/21), my DS(17), DD(14), my boyfriends DD(12) and DS(10). Only 479 more days :cool1::sad:

I just stumbled across an explanation of the fish extender. I WONDERed how people got them and their purpose on our cruise last month. Excited to be a part of it on this next cruise. Anyone on here have any comments regarding them? Do a lot of people participate? Thanks.

Excited to be a member on here!!!!!

Maybe we should do a Triple B2B, so we don't miss you! After all, that would be the friendly thing to do!!!

The FE is lots of fun. We always do it. It is called the FE because it hangs from the fish mail holder by your SR door. Some rooms on the Dream and Fantasy have starfish, but still an FE. there is a Facebook page all about FE. You have to request access to the page, as it is private. You will learn so much about it there. I can answer your questions too. I bought mine from a lady on eBay named GradysMom. I would need to help track here down, as I heard she is selling from a different site now. She hand makes them to your exact wishes. She does incredible work. Don't miss doing it. Lots of fun!

I just found her. She's "Gradysmommy" on etzy.com. I highly recommend her. She is fantastic and reasonable on the price!

:welcome:Welcome to the DisBoards and welcome to the cruise meet thread!! :welcome:

On June 21st we will be celebrating DD's and DSIL's first anniversary. So lots to celebrate on the cruise!!

FE's can definitely be a lot of fun!

Sounds like a great plan to me!!! Let me know when you have it booked!:thumbsup2

LOL If I booked I will be broke"ed"!:lmao: I wonder if anyone has done a triple before? This will be our 2nd B2B. We are so silly about it. On the last morning of the first cruise, we pout around that the cruise is over. We walk around pretending to be depressed...we check off the ship...sad...then we run to the check-in smiling and because we were on the other one, we get ushered right back on the ship through a different door. We do not have to stay off at all. They ask you either stay in your room or only in common areas (not the SR halls) You should see the cleaning production that goes on between cruises!!! It's sure something to see. You can't even walk through the halls as all sheets, comforters etc are thrown out there. Then the marathon vacuuming that goes on in all the other carpeted areas. It's beyond crazy!pixiedust:
