June 16, 2007 MedHead Cruisers

I'm so jealous of everyone who's leaving before us!!!! I still have 2 1/2 days of work left. Waaaaah :sad2:

On a happy note, I haven't done any work at all today, as I spent the entire morning trying to find an airport transfer company in Paris. But, I finally found one that I'm excited about, Airport Connection, and we're all booked! Yay!!!

The tumbleweeds are really starting to roll around in this ghost town you all left us in! :rotfl2: I have the lights set on a timer to turn on Friday night!

Too funny! As a fellow "inhabitant" of the ghost town I felt like I should pop in here..... We leave from JFK Fri. at 8:01 PM, after we meet there coming from various places, so I guess we may be the last to officially leave?? We won't get to the ship until 2 PM or so Sat., but I'm expecting to be a bit of a zombie after traveling 24 hours....so I'll just hope someone points me in the right direction (maybe Mickey?)!

Safe & happy travels, everyone!

Hi there June 16 MedHeaders. We are on the last MedHead cruise, August 8. You seem like a fun and lively group -- will anyone be posting a blog for the rest of us to follow along? There were lots of blogs on the transatlantic crossing and some on the first Med Head, not so much on the one going on right now. I love the blogs, so can you help me live vicariously and let me know if any of your DIS family are posting blogs for the rest of us? We would love to cruise with the rest of you! :worship:

If we believe what we read the weather looks great while we are away. Naples and Sardinia look very hot with a little bit windy in Marseille. Still could all change by then will take the forecast with me and see how good they are. Palermo is quoted as 31, Naples 35 feels like 45 and Rome 33.

No rain on the forecast from what they are telling us - hope we can believe them but it is usually good at this time of year and we are sailing over the 21st which is the longest day. Worst part of that evenings start getting darker from then on.
Safe travel

Hi JeanieP, just post back just a couple of pages and I think there are four or so people on this group posting a blog! Happy reading!

Hoping against hope that that darn passport will arrive

Did get word that Kara has actually been approved.

Can call after bit and see if actually left New Orleans and then can go from there

I still have hope but that is fading more and more

We haven't unpacked suitcases though

Hi Everyone,
Not sure who has not let for Barcelona yet. We are in Paris now and leave on the overnight train for Barcelona tomorrow night. We had a wonderful time in London. The weather was great. I wish we had longer as there is so much to do. I did make it to Kings Cross Station to see the Harry Potter 9 3/4 Platform. We saw Mary Poppins on Monday night. I think that is one of the best musical I have ever seen. I would highly recommend it. We ate dinner at the Effiel Tower last night and went to the Louve today. Tomorrow we are planning to go see Notre Dame and take a river ride on the Seine. We are still adjusting to the time difference. My kids had the famous Bertillion ice cream today and my DS said that France makes good ice cream. I still think that Blue Bell is better. We are not tired at night when we should be and want to sleep in the mornings. Going home will probably be a real pain but I will worry about that later. See everyone on Saturday.

Still hoping for you. :wizard: Keep us posted.

I am in the Atlanta airport. Our flight to Barcelona leaves in about 2 hours. Our flight from Cincinnati to Atlanta was delayed by about an hour but luckily we had a really long layover so there's no way we could have missed the next flight. The longest flight I've ever been on was 4 hours so I am starting to wonder about this. Hope I can sleep.

Well Bev you beat us. My DSI Auntsue1 and my family leave Pittsburgh Friday at 3:30 p.m. and arrive in Barcelona about 11:55 a.m. Sat. ASSUMING all goes well:rolleyes1. I'm so excited but nervous too with the planes transfers. I pray US Airways is running on time for a change!
Have a safe trip and see ya on the boat!

Hi All!

A last hello from London. We head to Barcelona tomorrow. We look forward to seeing everyone in Barcelona or on the ship.

Marla - more PD out your way for that passport.

LJ - I think my parents and David and his parents are on the same flight as you out of Atlanta. I can't believe I didn't catch that before. The are sitting in first class - 2 people in thier 60's(the woman might look like she is losing her hair) that's my mom - she is undergoing chemo and right across from them are another couple - lady with red hair and gentleman with dark brown hair and they have an 18 year old boy traveling with them that looks a lot like his dad. I think my parents are sitting in row 2 middle seats. We should be in Barcelona about the same time as you guys so I will look for you.

For anyone that is new or not sure the DIS meet and greet is at 2pm on the 17th(first sea day) in the Roy Suite 8530. Even if you did not let me know you were coming you are more than welcome. Come as you are it is nothing fancy just a chance to meet and tour the Roy Suite.

Carol - I looked for you at the theater on Monday but could not find you. I believe you are staying at the Hilton so try to find us and we will look for you.

I will try to check in again from Barcelona tomorrow.

Safe travels to everyone!

Does LJ mean PJ? At any rate I'll look for them. We're definitely not in first class but I'm sure I'm allowed to go up there and look. ;) 1 hour till we board..

Hi - we are staying at Gatwick airport on Thursday night and fly out on Friday on the BA flight about 9.25. getting nearer and am so restless.
Have a great journey.
Bren

Hi Bren,
We will be arriving Gatwick early Friday and are BA2486 thus suspect we are on the same flight. It is a 737, thus not too many folks. There are three of us, my son is the tallest!

Good travels.

Not to bring down everyone but Kara and I wil not be cruisisng with you

There is just no more hope for us to receive Kara's passpport in time for us to even attempt to get there and we were not even going to attempt to chase the ship down by ports

We will get our London/Paris trip in June of 08 and we are now on the 12/27/08 7 night Western cruise

I hope you all have a great cruise

Marla and Kara
