I myself was wondering who Tyler Mason was? What does he do?:confused3

Taylor Mason performed on our Disney Magic Cruise in September 2005. He has muppet-like puppets and he is an amazing ventriliquist. His shows were loved by parents and children alike. He is not famous except for winning best comedian in Star Search with Ed McMahon many years ago. I can't wait to tell my daughters tonight that they will be able to see their friend "PACO" on the cruise.

Ok all..it's killing me that I used points. The rate for a cat 12 on our cruise for me and my dd is 3100, I used 750 points...an equivilent of $7500 as they can be sold for $10 per point. That puts us in a cat 11. AAGH! The next rate for a cat 11 (same room) is $6100. Now, I know I used points cause I had them and didn't want to pay cash, but still I can't believe that they are discounting so much for a cat 12 which they have obviously oversold as most of you lucky ducks were upgraded. If anyone else noticed there is not much of a discount beyond a 12. It's like 400-6 per cat/room upgrade. I am going to call dvc tomorrow and discuss. See what they can do for me!?! Anyone have any tips?

I love Taylor Mason. He is very entertaining. We went to all of his shows on the ship and he never did anything inappropriate. That is why my husband and I just love Disney.
We have two children. One is 18 and the other is 8. My 18 year old son is graduating from high school in three weeks. This is his graduation present. He is really excited. We are also taking my mother. She goes with us on all of our trips. It is really nice.
We are staying in the basement of the ship. Ok, not the basement. Level 2. That is all we could afford at the time we booked. Now I wish we would of booked up higher. But, maybe we will get some magic dust. Or at the port we can see if we can upgrade.
This is our 5th Disney Cruise. I already have my Disney Cruise booked for summer 2008. That is crazy. But I love Disney.

Steph, do you lose all the points if you cancel? Even if you lose a portion of the points, it might be worth it. Let us know what happens.

Dear Diary

I am reading the Dis boards too much. I read that there was a Jimmy Buffet party at the adult pool yesterday and had to immediately go and listen to "Cheeseburger in Paradise"

I wonder what the other Medheads are listening to pre cruise to get them in the cruise mood?

Silver you "quack" me up :rotfl:

Actually, everytime you post, you get me more excited, :woohoo:
How many more Mondays? LOL

29 days...woohoo:cool1: :cool1:

At least until I leave!

Ok, DVC was no help. I sent off an email to member services. It won't do any good but it made me feel better. I am not cancelling, just saying why don't club members get the same incentives that cash customers. We paid our cash up front for "future" vacations. Dang! :confused3

I love reading the live thread, but had to laugh as people were getting frustrated with the comments from others regarding their trip. So they made a suggestion that they start a new thread for questions. OK, I posted a question for a current cruiser. I am pretty sure I got an answer that was someones opinion and not actually a cruiser on that trip. We'll see. Everyone wants to share an opinion...including me!

I guess we should try to plan the lunch now. I haven't seen lauren in a while (princess jasmine) and I believe she wanted to help....Lauren if you're around...post :surfweb:

Who's making the list again...how many are going to be available for lunch on board on saturday? PM or post....

Thanks
Steph

Lunch when? The Saturday we sail?

I just can't go there . . . I mean to Cheeseburger in Paradise land yet. I'll get carried away and won't get anything done. Too many things to do beforehand!! But your posts are definitely providing entertainment!! Keep it up.

Steph, what would happen if you cancelled? Would you lose all your points?

-Jodie

I know the tour has been cancelled with Disney but I was wondering if anyone was planning to do the Chocolate museum in Barcelona on their own. If so, if anyone knew about how far it was from the port. Thanks!

Steph,

I know you won't get anywhere with Disney Cruise Line since you booked thru DVC. When I didn't like my room I email DCL and I got a response back to all DVC. I definitely know how you feel. I booked at Cat 7, but I gave up over 500 points for myself and paid cash for my son and it was over $4000.00When they gave me the worse possible Cat 7 room with my guranteed room I was ticked! I called DVC and they called DCL and at least put me on the deck I wanted. I know you could at least get that. I like deck 7 because you can walk up the 2 flights of steps quickly to get to the buffet! LOL But in the big picture, I guess its best to forget about it. Other than the split bath there isn't much difference in rooms and you will so rarely be in it. I personally will think twice before using points after seeing the drop in price on this cruise. I would have definitely saved the points and the money!

It's set up just like the cruise. Cancel so many days lose a % of the points. (for the cruise it's money). Plus, the points would be put back in this use year with no rollover capabilities. I couldn't use 734 points in a year and go on the med cruise.

We are planning on it. Not on saturday though. http://www.pastisseria.com/en/PortadaMuseu here's the weblink and you can find the metro system on line. It doesn't look to hard to coordinate. I have instructions at home from my hotel. I'll post later tonight the directions that I have. It may not work best for you, so I would double check online.

Exactly...I would have done the same. BUT also, you have to pay up front unlike DCL where you can pay up until 90 days. Which is another sucky thing. I do like the vacation club. Don't get me wrong, but I won't be using points for cruises anymore. I want the cash advantage. I'll still be here...just venting...as using dvc is new to me for the cruise. I didn't realize what I was giving up. Oh well, live and learn!

Steph

Oh yea...and lunch....yes on the ship....

Here's what I think...

We should all wear our fancy medhead gear and meet up in line at the port. Make all the others jealous! Then do whats needed after we board and meet about 1/2 or so later. Give people time to get additional palo ressie or spa ressie and go to your room. I know some people are doing planned excursions so they cannot meet. They say we should be able to board between noon and 1pm. So I think a safe lunch time would be around 1:30pm.

I did want to give someone on board a heads up with a count as I don't know what will be open for lunch yet. Make sure we can have some space.

Let me know who's interested in this plan. Jasmine/Lauren if you're out there and still want to help...let me know.
