The following is a link for a thread with a press release from DCL with some great information.

Sounds like they have some new and exciting things for the Med cruises. So many new things to see and do, when will we ever get any sleep?;)

Thanks for the update!!! That sounds really exciting!!! We never slept on the last cruise either....too much to do!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

We got our cabin number also tonight. 6645 cat 11.:thumbsup2 That is what we started with before we downgraded to a cat 12 gty. We just went down 1 deck but saved a lot of $$$$. We were hoping for maybe a 9 or 10 but we are happy to be back in an 11. pirate:

bartty,

In Palermo, I think its very easy to get to town from the ship, so we're gonna do Palermo on our own. They have one of those hop-on hop-off tour busses that we'll probably do. Then I think we'll take a cab to Mondello beach for a few hours. It doesn't look to be too far from town. I think its a good port to save some money on.

My daughter has just returned from South of France weekend with her bank friends and said is you are planning on going inside the casino in Monte Carlo make sure you take your passports with you as you cannot get in without them for some reason.

They were planning on using the trains but typical of france they were on strike so they took cabs and also boats to visit other places.

She was hoping to visit the cathedral but there was a very posh wedding last saturday and they could not go inside. She said the casino at night should not be missed fromthe outside it is spectacular.

Where do you find the hop-on hop-off bus, is it near the port or do you need to take a cab?

I really can't wait to see the casino now! Thanks for the info!

Exactly 5 weeks from today we will have just dropped the dogs off at the "doggie spa" and SHOULD be sitting in the airport waiting for our trip to start!!!:dance3:

Oh that last minute panic. Catching the cat to take to the cattery and cleaning up the parrot for him to go up there as well. Never really relax until those jobs are done and always worry that the cat will disappear before we catch him. Sure they know what is going on. We leave for the airport on the Thursday and up and away on Friday.

After a year of planning it's almot here! Now I'm worried about what vacation we will have to look forward to so.... Disney Lover Linda & I will just have to begin planning our next trip! (My poor DB!):thumbsup2

Isn't it dangerous to take the parrot to the cattery too??? ;) :lmao: :rotfl: :confused3

Worktoplay, Not sure where you catch the bus. I think you take a cab to town (which is very close) and then catch the bus. Will post the info when I find it again.

Virgil, You're making me laugh!!!:rotfl:

Auntsue, I'm planning an Alaska trip for next June. Maybe that should be your next trip.

Pillow,

Thanks for the info. I think that might be the way to see Palermo.

Lei Lani

I hate to be a pain, but I changed my room from 5132 to 7626. Sorry...I just didn't want to be on the 5th floor behind the theatre and once I saw there were several other rooms available I had to call. At least they were good about it.

I have never posted on a chatroom before!:confused3 What do I do now?
I will introduce myself first. I am Vicki and it is just my DH (Tom) and myself on this cruise. We have been on the books since this cruise opened and I just found the DISboards a couple of weeks ago. I could have used all this info when booking our excursions. What a chore that was! Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi All" and we are so darned excited that we can hardly stand it. Only 36 more days for us. I'll get all our info posted up soon. Can't wait to meet everyone. By the way, we are from the Chicago area. Anybody else from around these parts?

Vicki

Welcome Aboard Vicki and Tom! Everyone is getting excited after months of planning. Looking forward to meeting you.

Jodie,

Believe you me that is definitely a place we want to cruise too. In fact we were all set to book an Alaska Cruise when Disney announced the Med Cruise, which we decided to do first! Don't know if we can wait till 2011 or 2012 for the new ships, plus who knows if Disney is going there!

Well, now that you found us we are not a shy group! You'll have to read the previous postings, but I'm sure LeiLani (DVC4US) we'll invite you to the meet & greet in the Roy Suite! (We're looking forward to meeting everyone PLUS seeing the Roy Suite!) Also you might want to consider a T'shirt (they will be all the rage among the medheaders!)
Also if you want let LeiLani know when you arrive, what excursions you're on (you might want to check her list of questions), so you will know if one of us might be doing something with you.

Gee, as someone said before we just want to know everything (almost)!:)

There is a tourist bus called the Giro Cittia. It begins nad ends its circuit at the landmark teatro Politeama (the emerico Amari Side). It stops at many major monuments including the duomo and the Royal Palace. Departures are at 9am daily. Ticets are sold on boards. There are no advance reservations. The cost is approx. 11E per person. For more information call 091-6902690.

Ok I am not that smart. That is copied straight outta my sicily book. I am bringing the books with me so you can borrow it on sunday and check out the map etc.
