Hi all,

Wow! 87 pages of posts for cruisers going on the 6/16 Med cruise? I skimmed through the last several pages but could someone summarize who is going on the cruise?

For us, it will be myself, my wife Susan and my daughter Katy (17). We've cruised quite a few times, including the 7 nite eastern caribbean cruise on DCL. We're also big Disney fans who've been to WDW more than 30 times.

We didn't book this cruise until a few days ago so we're kind of behind the curve a bit. We have booked our hotel in Barcelona (Regencia Colon) and are now looking at various tour guide options at the ports of call. Have been researching the recommendations over on CC boards and would be interested in chatting with anyone that might be interested in sharing tours. Thanks!

I had to wait to book at the 75 day mark for me and my daughter (16) right at 3:00 a.m. and was able to book

I will be canceling my Palo dinner - the only thing I could find was for our Rome day - not sure I can make dinner with tour ending at 5:45 p.m. and dinner starting at 6:00 p.m.

Welcome, Welcome. There has been talk that you can go to Rockin D Bar or Rockin Bar D as soon as you board to get a Palo Reservation. That is what I will try to do.

I believe it's the 18th @ 7pm. The weather has been very strange in the sf bay area. Yesterday I was driving from my house about 30 miles south and it went from 76 and sunny to 62 and cloudy just like that! It was very strange. Thursday it was 80 but cloudy (very muggy don't like that much). I haven't heard of snow coming, but I know lots of people who didn't get much use out of their ski season passes this year, so they'd love it!

1.There are some excursions that are already sold out so you should check the excursion list online right away before you do any research. I mean that you should log in on DCL web like you are going to book excursions.
2.Also, there are some still showing as available, but they will not have enough space for your family. I was going to book florence and Pisa but there was only 1 space avail. and I needed 2. I did not know or understand why it wasn't letting me book myself until I called DCL.
3. DO NOT BOOK spa or Palo until you have fully decided and chosen your excursions. Once you book spa or Palo you will not be able to book the primary person on your reservation. (some glitch in the disney computer system)
4. Palo is booked up but there is hope that we can reserve on board. See my reply above ...
5. I am making door magnets if interested. You can PM me if you desire privacy or just reply with your room number and I will put them on your door or you can pick it up off my door 6003.
6. We are planning a 6/16 Lunch meet for all of the people who will be in barcelona and are planning to check in as early as possible. Just watch the board for further information.

Ok, can't think of anything else. I am sure someone else here will have more.

Absolutely you can post and ask about sharing a tour. Since this is our first time in the Med - we elected to stick with DCL this time.... but we normally book on our own a great deal...

There are others using non disney tour guides. If you can read back, you may be able to find someone looking to fill up their car.

Ok Medheads...with the help of Also (aka Brian) and the banner he created, I was able to add it to cafepress and create our own page of assorted goodies that can be purchased for the cruise. If anyone has another banner or idea for a shirt logo, please let me know. Here is the link to the site.

I receive no compensation for this, all of the prices are the minimum that cafepress would allow each item to be sold. I can add any other logos, so anyone creative that wants something else just let me know. This eliminates the burden of one person ordering t-shirts for all and having to collect the money. Unfortunately they did not have any "lance" bracelets available.
Additionnally, if anyone knows if there are any copyright issues with this, please advise asap. There are no direct disney references or logos on the banner. It has been changed a little from the one on my (and others) signature page.

Hope you all like it. I have to go back to work next week, so no more messing around. Everyone have a great holiday.

Welcome, Jeff!! Even though you just booked it sounds like you're definitely on top of things! For the cruise it will be myself and my 2 sisters and our parents. We're on Deck 2 I believe in 2 category 8's. I'm probably getting that all wrong.

I have Palo booked for 7:00 on Monday, June 18th. I don't think Steph was able to book the same day. I need to call DCL again to make sure I can bring a guest. It would be rediculous if you couldn't but the CM I spoke to a few weeks back wasn't sure.

All right...I read back from page 60...whew! If LisaTex and/or tde1969 are still interested in booking some private tours with others, let me know! There are 3 in our party. I have booked DriveAmalfi in Naples for a tour of Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. DriveAmalfi is highly rated over on the cruisecritic message boards. Per Salvatore, the tour is tailorable. The total cost for 1-3 passengers is 450 Euros, for 4-6 passengers - 550 Euros, for 7-8 passengers - 650 Euros all excluding lunch and entrance fees. Thanks and we're looking foward to meeting up with others on the Magic!

We're arriving on the 15th, flying out of Memphis, TN, through Amsterdam, to Barcelona on KLM. We're staying 1 nite before the cruise and 1 night after at the Regencia Colon in the gothic quarter, which is near the port.

I believe the brunch we all want is 10:30 on Sunday, first day at sea and for tea at 3:00 on Friday, the next sea day. I was unable to book them online too so I'll be seeing you at the Rockin Bar D once we get on the ship.

Yep, you can order direct. I think I going to order a sweatshirt for my daughter and maybe a bunch of magnets. We'll all be covered on our doors. I am not sure which shirt for me.
Thanks for the info. Now that I know the aquarium is open until 9:30pm and right around the corner, I can spend time on the ship looking into a bunch of things.
1. Get Palo ressies for brunch and tea.
2. Change spa appt. to earlier in the day.
3. Try to change La Spezia tour to florence AND pisa.

I can only hope that some of this is available. As we get closer, we'll get a list of people that will be available to meet on board for lunch. Maybe we can all work as a group to get some of these ressie taken care of. I have every ambition to make it to the port by 11am. I know thats early and my DD will be whining, but I want to get on as early as possible to get things taken care of on board. I will also need to do some last minute shopping for "adult beverages" So I won't have so high of a bar bill. And of course our last excursion will be to the aquarium. Conveniently close.
Again happy easter/passover/sunday. Gotta get ready for the bunny!
