I for one am glad that they are sticking with traditional looking ships as I do not care for the ones that look like a block of flats floating around they have no character.

I agree about the design of the ships. I am very interested to hear both their names and what ports they will be visiting.

The only answer I could get from Disney regarding excursion timing was that it will be posted on the website on March 19 (or whatever date we can start booking, I get confused).

Oh, how wonderful!! I didn't know you were just in Disney. I am leaving for Disney bright and early Friday morning to go spend the week with my sister. I hope it is better weather down there than we are currently having here.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to hear you have some snow - please do not send it this way I need spring now not more wet stuff.

Do wish we were able to just pop to Disney I am really envious.

Life sometimes is so sad, I work closely with the RSPCA on theis Island and we deal with allsorts of animal abuse. Our inspector was called to a most horrific case last Friday and even though they are somewhat hardened he was in tears. It was a dog so badly neglected that it had to be put to sleep and the pictures of it make me want to cry. Our little local branch is offering £1000 reward for information on who had done this and just hope the money will tempt someone to spill the beans so to speak.

Well it is very strange that some people are managing to get information on the excursions and others not. If you go on an early excursion does anyone know what time you can get breakfast on board please.

I keep watching te other boards and I am sure we shall manage to get some information soon.

I'm looking into airfare right now. I think we will fly in a day early. My boss will probably fire me when she sees all the vacation I'm taking this year and all so close together! Oh well! I'm too nervous to fly in the day of, on our first cruise, we flew in a day early and thank goodness since US Air had problems with luggage that day and we never got our luggage until 1 AM. Had it been the same day as departure we would have had a bad week!

Are you flying out of Philly? or NY? We are flying out the night before with American out of JFK. We are actually going to fly into London, & switch flights,and fly to Barcelona. On the way home, we are spending the night in London, so we can tour the next day, we are flying home late that night.

That's our plan.

I was hoping to fly into Barcelona from Philly on the 14th and spend the day exploring and then flying back on the 27th. Only US Air flys direct into Barcelona and they aren't being kind in their pricing right now. I need to look around some more I may end up changing planes or flying out of a different airport.

Oh goodie another single mom + child. I am travelling with my DD9. Try to bypass london if you can. They just raised their taxes so many of us just got hit with a nice $80 tax bill.
We are flying in 2 days before to explore barcelona before the cruise. Good luck with the flights.
Everyone...so how exactly are they going to show the excursion times on the website on the individual date for different people? I have looked on other threads and each cruise, each passenger type (castaway, first time, conceirge) have all gotten different dates that the times will show up? How do they do that? The better question is WHY would they do that. Does it really matter, I mean do CC members get a better time than first time cruisers? I just don't get it. Anyways..I will patiently wait (or not) for the times. I saw the casino evening was 5:45-10pm...sounds good!
Is anyone doing the french ports on their own? Are they local enough to do "on your own"?
Alright, enough questions. Looking forward to the cruise!

I have a lot of catching up to do on the excursions.

I would love to go to the cansino and leave my son on the ship...is that a popular thing to do? I'm not sure if he would go for that unless he buddied up with some other kids.

I will be a single mom for the cruise also (though my mother-in-law will be with us) Count us in for fun!!!

Marie, we will be leaving on the 14th arriving on the 15th and staying in the Renaissance Barcelona Airport Hotel.

Marie and purtypat...cool I was hoping that there would be more than couples or families! I booked myself for before and after. Disneys prices were a little high. We are staying near Las Ramblas, very close to the port at the Barcelona Universal. I picked this hotel, not on proximity, but that it had a pool and I thought, if I was going to drag my daughter around to look at churches, museums etc., I should give her something fun to do when we returned to our hotel. I didn't plan any time for the beach as I want to see as much as possible in 2 days. Well..really a day and a half.
After getting the port information, I realized that our hotel was very close to the port. So our tentative plans are to get to the hotel Thurs. night and then go out for dinner and walk around las ramblas. Fri, do the monestary (spelling not so good ) and more walking sightseeing including the museums etc or a bike tour. Then saturday spend a lazy morning at the hotel and go over and wait at the ship until we can board. We plan to arrive at the port around noon, maybe earlier...to be first in line. Then have lunch on board (I am trying to arrange a "dismeet" for lunch) and head out to the aquarium and some last minute shopping before final board.
This is pretty much all I have accomplished. I am still toying with many excursions on board and we are going to paris after and I haven't even thought about our plans there. Although, we have the hotel and flights, but thats it now. I figure as we get closer to may I'll spark my fire and start really getting it together. I can't believe it's almost here!
But for now..so much to do here. Life is getting in the way of my planning my dream vacation! Although, we are going to disneyland at the end of next month to get cruise ready so thats exciting. A mini vacation.
Anyone is welcome to join us, if interested, for any of our precruise destinations. Just let me know. I'll post closer to the cruise to see who wants to meet for lunch on board so we can get a table together.

I just finalized the basics! We fly into Barcelona arriving early morning June 15th. I booked the Renasaissance at the airport since it seems others on the cruise were staying there, the price was good and it seems convenient enough. I haven't looked at what there is to do in Barcelona yet. We'ld love to meet for lunch so just say where and maybe we'll join you when you head to he aquarium after. This is going to be a great trip!

Hi Brenda,
I really understand, my last two dogs were rescue Yorkies that were abused. Hard to believe what some sick people will do.

Last week I packed warm clothes due to the cold weather in Fl. Guess what every day was 70 & up. Hard to believe last week I was swimming, this week shoveling snow. Are you going to the the Princess Pirate Party 3/2 we were there last Friday night. It was awsome. We walked on EVERY ride.

Marie, so glad you are staying in the same hotel, maybe we can all venture to the Ship together check in, drop off our luggage, meet up with everyone on the Magic for an early lunch.

After lunch we are going to hop on the double bus tour of Barcelona.
