Not to offend anyone in Europe but the Euro looks like play money - girls play money. My DD thought the bills were "cute". :cutie:

Hi Wendy & Jasmine,

"Welcome" Can't wait to meet you too!!!

Haven't heard from Silver, "Silver are you there?" How many more Wedesdays?

Guess what everybody, I received my documents today

I am off to cook 2 more pans of Lasagna, can you smell my sauce cooking LOL I am almost done cooking for Jenna's party on Saturday.

See you all real soon. :hourglass

Patricia

Okay, then pass some of that Lasagna through! Virtual lasagna has no calories! :goodvibes

Yea, Silver has been pretty quiet lately. Hi Ho Silver Don't go away! :rotfl:

Well, it was either buy a new phone or pay an $18 replacement fee. I want to save all my money and I don't really care what kind of phone I have so I just paid the same fee and they'll mail me a new phone by Friday. I never realized how dependent upon my cell phone I am until I broke it!!

Thanks for the info. I will call Cincinnati Bell.

Welcome!!! :welcome:

OMG that sounds AWFUL. TONS of pixie dust sent your way.:wizard: Keep us updated, I'm sure it'll all work out.

I have a funny story. At least I thought it was funny....

Ever since I was little I have journaled all of our family vacations. Last night I was cleaning out my desk and I came upon my journal of our last Disney cruise which was 7 years ago. I was reading it and I had written that we were in staterooms 2138 and 2140. Those are the same staterooms we're in this time and I didn't even pick them...the travel agent did!!! I found that to be pretty ironic because when I booked this cruise the TA asked if I had any room location preferences and I said no and then she just happened to pick the same 2 rooms as last time! I found that to be pretty interesting... :scratchin

Wow! Don't worry then if you get a feeling of Deja Vu. That's really weird - the same room? Sorry about your phone luck!

Sorry, I missed your DD. Blame me - don't take it out on my DW & DMIL when you have Palo brunch on Sunday.

We wouldn't think of it! I didn't enter her name because I thought you all were just wanting the names of 12 yo. Chrissy will like that there are young kids in rooms real close to hers. She definitely is a people person.

I just keep thinking that as it is 6.30 p.m. here in England 7.30 in Spain Magic wil be on its way soon and the next time it leaves Barcelona it will be our turn.

Really want to start packing but have not got the cases out of the loft yet and know too well that if I pack too early will end up unpacking a dozen times to see what I have fogotten. Does anyone else go through this panic ritual or just me?

Another tip for anyone flying over put your watches on immediately you get on the plane and when they offer you a meal think if you would normally eat something heavy that time of night. We have adopted this for many trips and you definitely feel better the next day. That and my Melatonin and I am all set.

Bren

You guys are awesome, thank you for all the welcome messages! I can't wait to let Jasmine know about the girls her age who will be there.

I'm an AF officer, stationed in Belgium, so we won't have the jet-lag problem that most of you will encounter. I know only too well how hard the first couple days can be after an overseas flight. I just wanted to offer a couple of tips for your flights over here:

Pickup some Airborne and start taking it a day prior to boost your immune system.

Try to shift your schedules up a couple hours the week before you come here, so you you don't have as many hours to make up.

Take a sleeping pill or dramameine on the plane and SLEEP on the way over. I know it's tempting to stay up and watch the movie or talk about the trip, but don't do it!! I've found that a sleep mask, neck pillow, and earplugs really help.

Also, if you make your seat assignments online, book an empty seat between each member of your party. The airlines always fill the middle seats in the back of the plane last. You may get lucky and have 2 seats each - or at least enough room for the kids to stretch out. If by chance the plane is full, chances are the person in the middle will be happy to swap for an aisle or window seat so you can sit next to your kids. If not, just tell the kid to say loudly "I think I'm gonna throw up!"

Once you get here take the Airborne for the first couple days to ward off any new bugs in the air.

And of course hand gel, wet wipes, and the travel rolls of toilet paper come in very handy in Europe.

I hope this is helpful.

Wendy

Thanks Wendy! My DB also suggested that. He brought home from his office Rozerem for sleep on the plane. (Yes, for those of us in the USA it's the commercial with Abe Lincoln & the Groundhog.) Providgels to wake up in Barcelona. It does sound silly to take a pill to go to sleep & then one to stay awake!

HI Wendy, I was going to ask you what branch. I have a son who is stationed at Mildenhall. He's a maintenance crew chief (Staff Sergeant) on a KC135....

I wish I could switch my schedule. I'm working every day until Wednesday when we leave. Trying not to catch anything from my patients...

Good Luck doing that Virgil! We're also trying to do that too!

Not just one room--2 exact same rooms! I was wishing I had carved my name into the bed or something. :rotfl:

Still no documents and just left a message with the TA.

I end up packing & repacking "just to make sure"! Useless habit!

Sue

Trouble is whe I unpack and repack I manage to cram more in - think I should pack, lock the case and hide the key. Am always relieved when we are on the way to the airport - if you have not got it too bad.

I certainly hope that passport turns up soon - I would be a nervous wreck by now and I am sure they must be able to do something to help that is so crazy. Over here we can go and collect them, think it costs more but would be worth it if possible.
Bren

I am here I am here I am here!!

NO MORE WEDNESDAYS UNTIL WE LEAVE!:woohoo:

Now for those leaving earlier. . . . . Have a GREAT time! See you on the ship!

Okay, I'm having a minor panic attack. Just called the TA and received a message that they're out of their office until June 17 for a meeting. So, if Disney sent our documents to the TA I guess they're going to be sitting there until June 17 if no one is there. I left a message but they said unless it's an emergency calls will not be returned until the 17th. Wonder if this qualifies as an emergency. What happens if we don't get the documents??

I'm sure their are other TA's out there on the Board, but YES! I'd say this qualifies as an emergency. You're paying them money. They could have mentioned this to you beforehand. Plus, DON'T WORRY! Yes, it's nice to have the actual docs (there isn't much in them this time) but call DCL you don't really need the docs to go.

Hi Lauren

The docs are not really needed, just a copy of everything you can do online. Just print out the online docs and you will be fine. They really should have someone covering the office for cases like this.

Leave them a message and I bet you hear from the ta today or tomorrow. :shamrock:

Okay, that's a relief.

They could have someone covering their office, I don't really know. The machine just said they were out until the 17th and they would call you back if you left a message and it was an emergency. Too bad this travel agency is in Texas, I want to just go get them myself!! Good to know I can just print them off if necessary.

I feel better now, thanks. I will call DCL if the TA doesn't get back to me by tomorrow.

sorry, if they were in Houston I was going to offer to go by there for you. :guilty:

That was nice of you anyways to offer to go by this place. Could this "meeting of theirs REALLY last to the 17th? Wow, long meeting!

Sue

There aren't that many sets of connecting rooms on the second floor - 16 to be exact (yes, I'm weird - I went and counted). Still there was only a 1/16th chance of you getting the same set of rooms. Funny!!

Your travel agent is probably in Europe testing out a cruise or something. Hmmm, think I need to get a job as a travel agent!

Just in case anyone is interested, here is the current weather report for Barcelona:

Thurs., June 14: 74 / 65 Scattered showers
Fri., June 15: 75 / 67 Partly Cloudy
