Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to update you on our gift exchange.

Currently we have 10 staterooms participating (11 Fish Extenders).

There are 30 people total.

I have room #'s for all but AirTita's 2nd room.

There is always room for more...so if there are any lurkers out there let me know!

22 DAYS  :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:

I need to get out there training! DH and I are running the DL half marathon in Aug. I wish I had your motivation...well my excuse could be that the weather has been TERRIBLE here in SoCal!

DH is actually up in Monterey at the Naval Post Graduate School. I am not sure if they were doing anything or not. To be honest in my 10 years as a Marine Corps wife I do not remember much for Memorial Day. I am sure they did things at the hospital and stuff though. We are so out of touch from regular military life. We life about an hour from the closest base and with my husband being in Monterey I NEVER know what is going on.

My husband is trainign for a 1/2 marathan that he is running October in Baltimore, MD. He is very excited about it. I'm going to try to run the 5k because thats all I can get myself to do  so I already admire your efforts to just plan to run a 1/2 marathan. Isn't it going to be wicked hot there in August?

Wow Monterey seems like an awesome place to be stationed! If only all the Air Force residencys weren't in San Antonio I'd love to be sent there! Oh well at least my husbands brother and sister in law live in TX too so we'll be able to visit more often.

It had poured rain all day. It is our 21st anniversary today     We were going to go out tonight but it was too icky. I had a monthly med treatment yesterday that always wipes me out for a few days. With the rain, working and not being at 100% I came home and promptly fell asleep! DH is always so understanding. He assumed I would be out for the count, called the restaurant and gave DD 17 the night off. Boy was he surprised when I woke up as soon as DD left the house and said let's go! :rotfl: I guess we will be doing that another night:laughing:

Happy Anniversary!!

Happy Memorial Day, especially for all who served and continued to do so every day to keep us safe. I just finished helping DS iron his dress whites. His Sea Cadet unit will be at Fort Rosecranse tomorrow from 7:00 am to 11:00 am placing flags on the graves of our fallen heros. He told me yesterday he is so honored to do this and it is one of the most special days of the year for him. He gets to see his Great Uncle next week for the first time in 12 years. He was a decorated soldier in W.W. II and DS's personal hero. He can hardly wait to sit face to face with him and tell him how proud he is to have him for and uncle  I have a very special young man!TTYL.

Wow that is so great of your son to do! I'm sure you're very proud of him! :goodvibes

Wahoo!!! Today I finished three fish extenders for our family.   We are giving my in laws theirs this weekend and I'm mailing the other one to my family Tuesday. I think they are going to be so excited!!! In the process my DH say the machine out and decided he wanted to learn how to sew (he loves learning new things) so I taught him out to set it up and do a basic stitch. He is so proud of himself  and I'm very proud of him too. Fun!

Welcome!!!! Yeah! More people!!!!

We will help catch you up...

I will be the first one at the port on the 15th....followed by Sorcerer Mom :rotfl:

We are hoping to meet up in the parking lot and then trying to all eat lunch together on the ship the first day.

This is our 2nd Disney Cruise. We can't wait!!!! We are surprises our daughters for their birthday!

I will post more later...I have to go hang wallpaper, what fun!

What time is a good time to arrive at the port? Is it better to be there "first?"
Or does it even matter.

Any other tips?

Welcome everyone new in the last few days!!!

The earlier you are there the longer the vacation lasts:thumbsup2
Seriously it is always better to be there early. You get the kids signed in for the Kids Club/Flounders and get your pager without waiting in line. You also get on the ship earlier so you can get to Rockin D bar to get Palo reservations if your interested before they are gone. As of right now, Brooklyn & Sorcerer Mom are in a race to be first with others close behind. We will have to see who crosses into that parking lot first. It maybe a photo finish!:rotfl: I don't think we actually can get into the terminal until 10:30 but we're making sure we are in as soon as possible!!!

Have you picked up a Passporter's Guide to the Disney Cruiseline? That will give you tons of tips. Also check the sticky on the first page for FAQ's. Also post any questions here and someone will probably have an answer!

Thanks for the info.

Flounders and Palo are already taken care for us. I don't really want to be the first on the ship, but I would rather avoid the crowds in the line. I think we will shoot for a 10am arrival time. (but, I will tell my wife 9am so we will get there at 10)

I photo finish would be great...any volunteers willing to take the photo?

I can't wait. Starting to keep a mental note of what I am packing!

We are going to watch the Magic come in to port tomorrow. We live in Monrovia (Pasadena area, for non-locals), so we are going to leave here around 6:00 a.m. We'll check out the terminal, and I'll post any info I get.:surfweb: We are hoping to see the whole fire boat spouting water escort.:yay:
We are soooooooooo excited!!:wizard:

That sounds like fun. Do you know what time the Magic is supposed to arrive?

I would love to see it come in. I am about 20 minutes away.

If I can make it I will snap a bunch of photos and post it here!

I can't find any info on the time, but I figure getting there by 7:00 should be okay? I'll take pictures, too, but I can't promise that I'll figure out how to show them here. I can't even get my signature to work correctly!

:sad2:

I'll have more time in the next few days, so I hope to figure it out. :scared1:

I found this cruise ship tracking website.

I willl have to wake up early to see the ships location.

www dot sailwx dot info

I cannot post links yet, so go to that website and do a search for cruise ship tracking. Right now the Magic is just off the coast of Ensenada, North of the Island Princess.

Here is another website with information on parking, directions, etc. for Berth 93 (where the Magic will be docked)

I had a bunch of trouble with that too but Brooklyn recommended photobucket.com and it has worked perfectly for me, just make sure to post the IMG version.

Does anyone have an address for the port that we can plug into the GPS?

Any pictures will be awesome!!! I can't wait to see. Have fun and let her know we are all waiting with bated breath for three weeks from tomorrow. I made reservations at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel for the night of the 14th. We had reservations to stay at the DL hotel the 13th & 14th but when I found out the cost of the blackout day tickets, we decided not to do DL on Saturday. Now that way we are only a few miles from the port, Brooklyn & Sorcerer Mom, the race is really on!!!!

:welcome: Wow, lots of new people:cool1:. :welcome:

Very jealous of everyone seeing the ship tomorrow. Please take lots of pictures.

If you want to join in on Fish Extenters please email Brooklyn your info. I am putting together a list with everyone photos on it so we all know who to look for and out run:lmao: when we get there on Sunday. I know some of you might not have enough posts to post pictures, PM me and I will send you my email so you can send me your pictures.

I am planning on getting to the port about 9am. I like getting on the ship as early as possible especially since it taker off an hour earlier.

We used to be DL annual pass holders but the price just got too expensive to justify buying it anymore. I actually haven't been there since last Oct:scared1: . I am originally for NY so I grew up going to Disneyworld but when we moved to Vegas it was so nice that we could drive to DL. I actually like DL better. I still haven't been on Nemo, the lines have just been too long. I was going to be in DL this week but because of the cruise:rolleyes1 I had to cancel.

My DH was an Imagineer on the original DCA. Many of the changes are from the original plans, which were scaled down because of $$ We love the park, though. It's very relaxing to have a glass of wine (or more) overlooking the pier. Screamin' is the best rollercoaster!

:dance3:

That is so cool...does he still work for Disney? I have to say I like Rock n' Roller Coast better than Screamin' but it is a great ride.
