Welcome back Brooklyn![]()
Brooklyn, did you book directly through Disney or us Dream Unlimited?
Maybe I should have checked my mailbox yesterday![]()
I went and bought a new computer today. I am so happy to be back online.
And cruise docs came today, YEAH!!!![]()
Hi Everyone,
Am I too late to join the party? I'm sorry to be jumping in here so late, but it has been a crazy-busy spring for me. Now I am ready to just obsess my little heart out about the cruise! Our cruise docs showed up today, so happy dance at our house!![]()

Just to introduce myself, I'm Cari and I live in Cincinnati. (Well, in Fairfield, a northwestern suburb, to be exact.) I will be traveling with DH, DD 12, DS 8, and DD 5. We will be cruising with our good friends who have kids similar ages. This will be our 3rd cruise, and our first 7 day and first veranda. And we are absolutely spazzed! We also went on the Big Red Boat for our honeymoon, so it's our 4th cruise overall. We're also thrilled to be heading to Disneyland for three days pre-cruise.
One interesting thing about our travel plans is that we are among those who were dumped by Skybus. We had the $10 tickets before they went under. All's well, though...we were able to book on another airline for a reasonable fare. Not $10, mind you, but reasonable.
I would live on DCL if I could, and I feel like I can't wait another minute.
I've read the last several pages of your thread, and you all seem like a very nice bunch. I hope it's OK to jump in at this late date. I look forward to chatting with all of you.![]()
Cheers,
Cari
I'm finally jumping in here. I saw that someone has "power snorkel" reserved. Check the official website. Ours was cancelled without notice. I called DCL, and they indicated that the entire excursion was cancelled.
They did not know why it was cancelled.

Of course it's not too late. Sorry about the travel problems...at least it's all fixed and you are getting to go on the cruise with us.
Have you ever been to DL before?
Cari I'm runnin out the door from work but wanted to say
first! Hope to chat more with you this weekend!

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, we've been to DL, but only once. We're WDW regulars and DVC members, but we did go to Cali one time for my niece's baptism. On that trip we went to DL two days and really enjoyed it. Believe it or not, DCA was our favorite. Loved that California Screamin'! It gives Rockin' Roller Coaster a run for its money. DD was 3 months old at the time, so it wasn't "power touring," but we really did quite a lot and had a blast. My sister-in-law was a DL regular, so she was a great guide. I'm looking forward to going back. Don't think I'll wait in line for Nemo, though, unless it's under an hour. We have high hopes for a soft opening of Toy Story, too.
Thanks again for the welcome! I'm happy to participate in fish extenders, if you have room for more people, by the way. If you already have it all worked out, though, I totally understand.
Cheers!
I too love DCA but don't know that I'd pay all that money to go to just that park, but if you have an Annual Pass it's awesome! I seriously would go there on nice days to read and study near the water and listen to music and just basically de-stress from work and college. It was awesome! I cant wait to see how they change it with this new overhaul. Does anyone have any more info on that??

So my husband and I planned to go for a 3 mile bike ride to get ice cream and then back. But it was such a nice day (finally over 60!!) that we decided to keep going and we went 15 miles!! I must say that was only my 2nd ride in 10 or 15 years so I'm goingto pay for it tomorrow!!
Anways, as we rode by and sat at the river I honestly felt like I could have been on the cruise! I asked my DH if he could imagine himself with ice cream in hand, sitting by the pool with the wind blowing and the sound of the water in the background. Basically it was awesome and it really got me even more pumped for the cruise!! I hope you're all having nice weather and finding little things in your day to get you excited for the cruise. 3 weeks and 2 days!!
Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!
On a totally seperate note...Brooklyn, does your husbands unit do anything special for Memorial Day? They had a concert at the hospital yesterday for all the injured soliders, military staff and familys where my husband works which I hear was awesome. It's really nice that they do things like that to honor our troopsand I hope they do it all over the country.

My DH was an Imagineer on the original DCA. Many of the changes are from the original plans, which were scaled down because of $$ We love the park, though. It's very relaxing to have a glass of wine (or more) overlooking the pier. Screamin' is the best rollercoaster!
We're going to San Pedro on Sunday morning to welcome the ship! If I thought I could get away with it, I would stow away!!

Welcome OurMsBrooks & LuvinAllDisney!!!
Talk to Brooklyn if you want to join in on our fishextender group.
It is great to have you join our party. We have a 14 year old DS and he has been bummed that his older sister 17 has met a few of the girls thanks to our thread!
DL is awesome! We are also annual passholders. We were there two weekends ago for the weekend and planned to go prior to the cruise but the 14th is a black out date!!! I refuse to pay the 40.00 surcharge per person. That is $200.00 for our familyInstead, we are going to do DL on the 13th. Get late checkout at the hotel and move to something closer to the port so we can get that tailgate started! For anyone who lives up there. Any recommendations?
Brooklyn... Hooray!!!! Hope all is well & glad you are back in business. We missed you.![]()
It had poured rain all day. It is our 21st anniversary today![]()

We were going to go out tonight but it was too icky. I had a monthly med treatment yesterday that always wipes me out for a few days. With the rain, working and not being at 100% I came home and promptly fell asleep! DH is always so understanding. He assumed I would be out for the count, called the restaurant and gave DD 17 the night off. Boy was he surprised when I woke up as soon as DD left the house and said let's go!
I guess we will be doing that another night

Happy Memorial Day, especially for all who served and continued to do so every day to keep us safe. I just finished helping DS iron his dress whites. His Sea Cadet unit will be at Fort Rosecranse tomorrow from 7:00 am to 11:00 am placing flags on the graves of our fallen heros. He told me yesterday he is so honored to do this and it is one of the most special days of the year for him. He gets to see his Great Uncle next week for the first time in 12 years. He was a decorated soldier in W.W. II and DS's personal hero. He can hardly wait to sit face to face with him and tell him how proud he is to have him for and uncleI have a very special young man!
Have a great night everyone. TTYL.
