June 15 '08 Mexican Riv. Cruise

Us too...this will be my first cruise and I am waiting to see if DCL is doing the Mediterranean again. If so, we are there!

Oh, that would be sweet! I teach 6th grade Social Studies...Ancient Greece and Rome...so I totally would love to cruise there.

Right there with you gals....DH looks at the suitcases I have out and says "I think you've gone overboard on the packing - I could fit all of my stuff in a plastic grocery bag"...how lovely :rolleyes2 I give up.

My DH is the opposite... I have to fight for my suitcase space!!! Seriously, I couldn't believe how much baggage we had on our last cruise with just two of us, and this time we're bringing the kids too. I haven't even started packing yet cuz we're both teachers finishing up our last days of school. Next week...

Yes!! A friend at work went on that cruise last year (I think) and she said it was the best DC she'd been on.

Now the important part...whats on the menu?

If you check out disneycruise . info (sorry can't post web sites so have to use spaces) they have some of the updated menus on the top of the page. They are just the basic rotation ones from the Wonder but you can get the idea. I am upset because my favorite Chicken Wings and Ribs were removed from the Parrot Cay menu but am happy to have new things to try. I am hoping the group that is on the cruise now brings back menus and navigators.

My whole family are big packers. We have a rule: you have to be able to carry it yourself. Each kid will have one wheeled suitcase and a backpack, and DH and I will each have one larger suitcase and a carry-on. Also need to figure out how to get a garment bag into this mix with our formal wear. So I look at the pile of stuff I have, and the kids have, and DH has, and I think we would need a u-haul to get it all to Cali!!! I like to have options, so I do tend to overpack.

On another subject, is anybody planning on going to Stone Island in Mazatlan? I read good things about it on Cruise Critic: cheap, easy to get to, fun, "old Mexico." Just curious if anybody here knows anything about it.

We're almost there, folks!!!

Sorry can't help on the excursion...we are just going to Senor Frogs.

I wouldn't say I overpack :rolleyes1 because I usually wear everything that I bring, like you I like having options. However, most people would say I do because I bring a lot of shoes and bathing suits.

PV at 8:15am...when are you doing it?

Mazatlan...I am excited to be ending at the Tequilla Factory!!!

We are crossing our fingers for a Trans-Atlantic again, it was AMAZING!

Yep, we are always up early of course that mean have usually have to take a nap:cloud9: to make through dinner but that's always built into our plans.

:thumbsup2 Me too, always get up early and LOVE to take naps!!!

Brooklyn, DH, DD, & DS are on the 8:00 Zip-Line in Mazatlan. (I don't do humidity well) Is that the one you and DH are On?

THANK YOU for all the tips on the xtra's to carry. DH was really grossed out by the helmet thing. Another suggestion I read somewhere was to take bug spray. Being in the jungle there are lots of those buggy things flying around. We actually found a combination bug & sun screen.

Speaking of luggage, we always travel very light and bring the bare essentials. The picture below shows you how little a family of five really need for a seven day cruise followed by 7 days @ disney world.

I'm staying on board ship and Luke will be at the club as well. I'll be checking on him and can check on the girls as well if you want. I'm just going to be hanging out and relaxing. I may walk around and take the self guided art tour.

Thanks! I am really glad that Luke will be in the club too. It will be someone familiar to Maddy. :) Thanks for offering to look in on them!

You may already do this when packing, but we now roll most all of our clothes with and are able to fit lots more in one suitcase. I've heard such great things about the H2o products on the ship, I'm not packing shampoo or conditioner so that should save some space. Now if someone would just figure out how to roll shoes up in a ball...:rolleyes1

Bet you're ready for school to be out as much as the kids :goodvibes

Good Morning early riser!!!

I am here working on my Fish Extender. Today is DD's last day of school so we are skipping school, haha! We were going to go to DL but I am too tired. We will go next week.

Another good tip is I buy the 2 1/2 gallon Zip Lock bags. They are amazing. The make the most amazing space bags. Just fill them up and push all the air out. They worked wonders for me and my 14 suitcases on our last cruise!

I've heard about Stone Island as well...there's a thread on the main forum from Mazatlan Frank and I know I saw some info. on there. Seems like lots of folks have used his tour services and some from the 05 Mex. Riv. cruise. You may be able to find something there or if you post, I'm sure be happy to direct you. We'll be w/LV Stitch at Senor Frogs but I'd like to fit more in if we can..I've heard you can watch cliff divers there and that would be neat to see.

We've got horseback riding booked in Cabo (my DD really wanted to do that)....has anyone heard anything about that (other than we all might be sore at dinner that night?! :rotfl: ). I'm 99% sure I'm officially chickening out of the zipline in PV so we're just winging it there.

I've been so busy catching up I didn't even say GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY 16 DAYS EVERYONE (or 2 weeks and 2 days for LV Stitch :goodvibes )!!!! We are that much closer to Mickey Bars from Room Service :cool1:
