June 14, 2014 Fantasy 7-Night Eastern Caribbean

we are booked.
My son never spent a lot of time in the teen club until this past June Fantasy cruise. He raved about the counselors, especially YoYo, and keeps in touch with a number of the teens since we are home. You would have thought they were friends forever. we are big Disney fans so he will got to the shows with me and do trivia, etc, but hoping there will be a group his age to hang out together.
I joined the facebook page yesterday and added my son maybe he can "meet" someone ahead of the cruise.
The Fantasy seemed better than the Dream to me- maybe because the cruise is longer, and they added the small wading area above the adult pool and the pool at satellite falls. I still love the Magic and can not wait to see her after the dry dock.
It seems the facebook page is more active than here. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Since we booked so late we have second seating- we always do main, but will hope for waitlist to come through. We eat late at home, but on the cruise after such a big meal I am ready to just fall asleep!

Sounds awesome...I am sure everything will work out. It seems we have a fairly large group, and too, at that time of year it also seemed that there were more "kids" that age then the youngers. More to their advantage.

We've always had 2nd seating dining. Not sure what we'd do eating so early, having a later show to get to. I LOVE 2nd- seating dinner, and you're right...it falls right into our schedule at home too. The kids go right back out, but my DH and I just go about, doing whatever or nothing, just relaxing, which is what it's all about anyway.

Looks like we are headed to board the Wonder for a New Year's Eve cruise...it will be strange for us, going to a smaller ship. You mention the Magic and you love it...that's encouraging news to me. Any advice for us going from the larger vessel to the smaller one? I can't wait to see what it's like to be on board for longer then 4 nights (in June!). That will be a whole new experience for sure!

FB is certainly where it is most active...I come on here every once in a while to make sure no one is being left behind, but FB is easier. I wish all groups had had them actually.

We will be joining the group on the cruise. Excitted. My brother is hooking a ride with us, so there are four total in our party. Our DD is 10. Our last cruise with Disney was Alaska and we are looking forward to getting back to the beaches this time around.

Would like to participate in FEs.

Hey there...WELCOME! I think I saw you added to the Facebook group? If so, hopefully the FE list will be updated by this weekend and we all will begin to have a better idea of what the groups are looking like.

If not, Here is the link to join the FE group:

We have done the new years eve on the wonder and the magic. The feel is more intimate but some people do not care for it after doing the larger ships. We returned to the magic last year after 2 times on the dream and were not disappointed. You will have different shows and places to check out. Cove cafe is nice on the wonder, 2 stories. More chairs at adult pool and regular full chairs at goofy pool, also shaded areas to watch movies on deck. Any specific questions?

Hello everyone,

It seems like most of our activity is on the Facebook group listed in the previous posts. I have reviewed the posts here and on Facebook then compared them to the current FE list. I hope I captured everyone's information. I will be posting an updated FE list this weekend on the Facebook group page. If you are on the DisBoards and not on Facebook, and want to participate in the FE, please send me a PM.

Thanks!
Leslie

Just so you know, someone (not me) will complain if there's a parallel FB group.

We've finished some of our FE gifts for this cruise.

We currently have 10 folks, in 3 cabins, and are supposed to get at least two more. (Not sure if that's cabins or people.)

Hi Andy,

I sent you a FB message, but I will try the DisBoards as well, can you send me your total number of cabins and any other information you may have such as gender / age? The current list only has you listed for one cabin.

Thanks!
Leslie

Well...my husband is mostly concerned about how "quaint" or small it will be after being exposed to the Dream so many times. A co-worker has been on the Wonder and after hearing how much my husband adores the Dream, he wishes he would have spent the extra money and just gone on the Dream instead, leaving my husband very apprehensive towards our upcoming trip in December! I'm stoked though, getting to experience another vessel seems WONDERful! Anything I can tell him to help ease his mind? He's very worried about a cramped feeling, especially with unrulling kids, rude adults, crowded self-serve food lines, pools, gift shops, shows, ect. It will be the New Years Eve cruise so maybe that's also a reason for him. An actual celebration cruise? I don't know...but he's worried. :(

It will be crowded for the holiday but we found pool area felt more crowded on larger ships. If he wants to stay home I can take his place. Restaurants are more crowded on larger ships, but seating is tough at beach blanket buffet at crowded times. The shops are smaller, but you will spend less. I hope he won t be disappointed. They have a count down to new years on deck with free champagne. With smaller capacity felt cast members were not as rushed and more time to interact. Hope it works out. Many people love the more intimate feel.

Thanks for the heads up---he's going, like it or not, lol! And I say he'll enjoy it, ha-ha! Afterall, it's Disney! I'm already counting down the days!

It's currently 5 cabins with 14 people but I'm pretty sure that at least one of those numbers will change. I'm currently trying to get folks to decide whether they want to be in all FE groups (like me) or just one.

Hi all, we have joined this cruise as of yesterday. We previously had booked an earlier date, but had to change because of events around my daughter's HS graduation.

This cruise will be just my wife and me (Carla and Rodney), and it is a celebration for our 25th wedding anniversary.

We've been on the Disney Magic once (our first cruise ever) and several other cruises on different lines, but nothing has ever compared to Disney. I'm sure part of that was also because it was our first cruise, but I haven't experienced the level of service from Disney on any other ship (Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Princess, or Carnival).

We are so excited to have a Disney cruise in our future and are really looking forward to being on board the Fantasy.

I requested to join the FB group, so hopefully someone will approve that soon.

We signed up a while ago for the cruise but I have just now had a chance to check the DIS board. The kids defiantly want to join the FE group. I currently do not have a Facebook account, but will attempt to create one so I can keep up with everyone. Just in case I have problems I want to give you our information. We are a family of three DH, DD (12) and of course myself. We are bringing a family friend so my daughter had someone to hang with. I will call him DS (12).
Can you please sign us up for the FE group.

Cannot wait until June 14th!!!

Hey there!

I've made the mistake of not coming on here lately...feel like I've missed something, but I stay current on the FB page. Last posting for anything was Oct 10th.

P.S.
I have a boy that is the same age as your daughter and her friend!

Hi there! We just booked our trip on the Fantasy and we are so excited! It will be me, my husband and our daughter who will be 6 at the time. This is our 2nd Disney cruise; we were on the Magic in April and absolutely loved it! My parents will also be joining us. They are avid cruisers but this will be their first experience on Disney. Looking forward to meeting some of you and making new friends.

I've put my request in on the Facebook page as well. Just waiting on my approval :)
