June 13 2010 5 Night Bahamas - Double Dip

Hi, all!

Having participated in FE's in the past, DS (Matthew, aka Smileneyesson) and I will be happy to organize the FE list for this cruise. To do so, I'd like to make the following suggestions:

1) Let's set a cutoff date for participation. How does May 1st sound? This way, those who are participating will have enough time to plan for purchase of items, supplies, etc.
2) Last year we created a spreadsheet which worked out really well. We'll be happy to forward that to those interested. If you'd like to be included, please PM me with the following information:

  • DisBoard Name
  • E-mail Address (for spreadsheet)
  • Names of Adults
  • Names and Ages of Kids
  • Stateroom #
  • Hometown, if desired

Please provide me with one entry for each stateroom participating for your group...that way I can list in the spreadsheet accordingly.

Finally (although not part of the actual FE exchange), please let me know if you'd be interested in a Day 1 "DisMeet". We have found that around 3PM typically works well for many people...it's prior to the muster drill, but allows enough time to socialize. We've had ours in the Promenade Lounge in past years, and in staterooms in others. I'd be happy to hear everyone's thoughts.

I read somewhere that someone mentioned problems when someone ende dup switching staterooms once onboard...as far as for FE rooms, how can we handle that?

I should be able to get the initial list out to everyone shortly after the deadline. If anyone should happen to switch staterooms prior to the cruise, I can send amended spreadsheets out. If they change at Port Canaveral, perhaps that party could drop a quick note in the others' FE's shortly upon arrival to notify all of the number change. It could also be communicated at the DisMeet, assuming we agree to have one. How does that sound for a plan? :confused3

66 days to go, really starting to get into it!!! :cool1:
 
Given that DCL hasn't really had 5-night cruises before, there've been a couple of threads regarding the dining rotations, etc. No real concrete info at this point, but I did read where someone (who is also on a double-dip) called DCL, and they indicated that Pirate Night would be on the same day as Nassau (Day 3), and "dress up night" (note: not formal) would be on Day 4.

Thanks, Amanda! Received, and have you on the list. I know what you mean...we're doing the FE for the Father's Day cruise immediately after this one. Looks like the tux doesn't get packed! LOL :lmao:

We may be going on this cruise, but not sure we will know before the May 1st FE deadline. :(

We are new DVC owners and have a lot of points that have to be used by a certain date, so we are hoping to close and book a cruise before the cruise books up!

We will let you know as soon as we hear something!

We are hoping to make it too! Our tentative plans are to go to WDW for Star Wars weekend June 10-13, then head on over to the boat to cruise on the Wonder! :woohoo: Our closing documents are with the title company. We are just waiting on the seller and she works for Disney. :laughing: I'm hoping it won't be long now.

SInce this cruise is a surprise I have had to pack up my FE stuff before the kids get out of school. :teacher: I have 24 bags. So I am fine with going past May 1st, I just don't want to go past 24. It seems we are no where near that number, so I think it will be fine!:thumbsup2

We should know pretty soon. We should close Monday, April 19. Our real estate agent said we should be "up and running by next Friday", which will be April 30. I will be calling DVC starting Tuesday to see if we are in the system yet to book the cruise. As soon as it is booked, I'll let you know.

Just booked this cruise on Friday.........never booked a cruise so close to sailing before.

This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. First time on the Wonder. We have always sailed with a veranda before, but this time I'm doing it cheap...........Just want to be on the boat! So right now we are just booked as a gty. in a cat. 11.

Hoping some pixie dust comes our way and we get an upgrade, but if we don't no worries, as we are still on the ship!

Cruised last summer and booked on board, so I was able to take that sailing discount and apply it towards this sailing and then I will just book another one.........our plans were to cruise in 2012 on one of the new ships.

I have already signed up for the FE exchange...........we did it last summer and it was really nice. Had 30 cabins in it with a total of 85 people!

I'm up for the 3:00 dis meet as well.

We are from NC, but home is Ohio..........Only been in NC for 1 1/2 years.

I read over the older posts and thought I saw another NC family and some Ohio people as well.

If anyone hasn't signed up yet for the FE exchange, give it some thought, the kids all love it!
