We typically visit at this time of year and love it! The weather will be warm to hot (upper 80s/low to mid 90s)--with the usual afternoon/early evening cloudbursts. Some June vacations have been better than others--this year was excellent--very little rain. In years past the rain has been torrential for most of the vacation. Hey, it's weather and you can't control that aspect of your vacation anywhere.
This year the crowds were greater in number than we've seen since 9/11, but manageable nonetheless. As the month of June wears on, the crowds increase so this time of the month is what I deem "moderately crowded".
According to the CMs we've spoken to, Sunday is the big check-in/check-out day for most visitors. We like to arrive on a Friday or Saturday and leave on a Saturday, but that's just us. We've checked out on a Saturday and not had a flight until Sunday (staying at the Hyatt airport location the final night) and this worked well, too.
We've gotten our best rates flying on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday and departing on a Saturday. The cost has been just a tad more for a return on Sunday--although not that great an increase.
For our money, and because of the school thing, we prefer June to other times we've visited.
