Did not know our room at the time we signed up for fish extender.
It is cabin 6604 and we definately want to participate in that.
We also have 2 grandkids participating they are 6 and 3. Their first Disney cruise. We are all so excited for the cruise.
Hubby is excited for Mickey Bars. He misses them.
About 5 more months.

Formal night will be the second night, Tuesday, June 11 (sea day).
"Pirate" night will be the third night, Wednesday, June 12 (Tracy Arm).
Semi-formal will be the sixth night, Saturday, June 15 (Ketchikan).

I put "pirate" in quotes because I've heard that they actually do some alaska/lumberjack stuff.

hey all! paid in full today!!

7 cabins, 23 people, 14 adults, 9 kids, 3 states, one AWESOME reunion!!

ok people, we HAVE to start chatting more, i don't know if it's b/c we also have a fb page or what but this is our family's third dis cruise and this is the least chatty group we've been with! help a chatty cathy out!! lol!!

one thing we've done in the past is having a spreadsheet with everyone on it so we can see who has kids that are similar ages and/or finding out that people live near us. some have even had "disney dinners" together to meet and in anticipation. if it hasn't been done yet, i'd be happy to put together a spreadsheet with everyone including location, gender and ages of kids. one of our cruises also had a kid's fb page (it was invite only) that our family didn't do b/c our kids weren't old enough to really "get" it.

also, we haven't named ourselves yet. our last cruise was on the fantasy to the EC and it was named "Fantasy becomes Reality" i think it was like the 5th cruise the fantasy had made? and our Mexican Riviera cruise was called "Dis Amigos Fiesta" each also have their own "logos" made by people far more tech savvy than i. (just realized both are still in my siggy, lol!)

another thing we've done is make those silicone bracelets in "DIS green" and hand them out at a dis meet the first day while everyone is waiting to get to their cabins. (we delivered those that didn't make it to their cabins) and some also participated in a "pj breakfast" one morning.

what does everyone think? since my grandparents are coming and don't have a computer, let alone the internet, they won't be contributing, lol, but my mom and bff have...i will try and get them to post more but maybe this is just a quieter group? i know that if things don't move much i actually forget to check, which is what has been happening.

so...

• is there already a spreadsheet with everyone on it?

• do we want bracelets to wear (with the group name on it) so we can spot each other around the ship?
• do we want a pj breakfast on morning?
• do we have a fe participants spreadsheet?

• do we want to do the 2 previous things? (used on magnets and FE items and to identify with being part of the DIS)

all these things were headed up organized and implemented by others on cruises we've been on except the bracelets. but if there is enough interest i'm sure we can get them done.

I have been wondering where everyone is, too. We don't really do Facebook here at our house.
The Banks Family was getting together a FE list, but I don't know what happened to it. I would love to have a list. My DGKs are coming and would like to know if there are any kids their ages.....3 girls...12, 15 and 17.
The girls have made 42 FE gifts so far for them to give out, but, I would like to have a list, so I could get started. Theirs are for everyone. I guess if we don't get a list soon, mine will be gender neutral, too.
I'm looking forward to hearing from someone!! We can start booking things soon!!

On our past cruises there was a deadline for when new people could join the FE (on our last one there were enough late joiners to the DIS that they made their own FE exchange, which was nice). i can try and find it on our last DIS meet thread but i think it was 8 weeks out. that would be mid april for us. we could do whatever this group wants but i would say minimum of 6 weeks out we should close it, so people can finalize and make/buy what they need for their gifts.

we have 3 girls (3, 9 and 10) and 6 boys (3, 3, 6, 6, 11, 11) all participating, whether their parents do or not, lol, either gparents or aunts will make it happen.

Well, I agree and I must admit, I am completely guilty. Life has been keeping us very busy. We are currently running our cub scout pack at church and that has occupied much of my down time. So I humbly apologize for my lack of input.

I have not started a spreadsheet. If you would like to, I would greatly appreciate it. As this our first DIS cruise, I was hoping someone would take the lead on our activities because I am clueless as to what has worked in the past.

A meet & greet would be great.

Bracelets are a great idea. I will check into that if you would like. I'm assuming you mean gel bracelets.

Interested in hearing more about the pj breakfast.

A Group Name would be fun.

I think a group logo would be cool but I think we should come up with a name first.

life happens, it's totally fine!! i just had a moment where i was avoiding doing tax stuff and so i came here and posted things i'd been thinking about for a while but hadn't been by a computer when it was on my mind. (my phone doesn't show icons so i can't reply here, only read, lame!)

i am happy to make the spreadsheet. i will do it in google docs and post the link on our private fb page and then see if i can put it in here as well with just sn's not name names since this is a public forum.

we did the bracelets last year so we have a place we know can be counted on, but if you've had them made before as well, let's compare prices for sure!!

we can have people start throwing out ideas for names now and in a couple of weeks vote on it (unless activity picks up, then we can always shorten it, if you want) we can post on FB as well, just to get as much of a response as possible. you can check out other cruise meets to see what their names are: some examples for us might be "alaskan wonder" or "alaska is WONDERful" or "mickey's big chill". shorter is better 3 words or less?

I am techie/artsy so that's something I am willing to do. If you want to do the bracelets, go for it. I was just trying to be helpful.

The only name I can think of is "Inside Passage Pirates." It is early here and I can't think. Where's my coffee?! Plus, Jake and the Neverland Pirates were just on.

some abbreviation help:

FE - Fish Extender, next to each cabin's door there is a "fish" (apparently not all are fish anymore?) for the Cast Members (CM) put messages in for you and someone years ago came up with an idea to "extend" it. they made what looks similar to a hanging shoe rack (google disney fish extender). the "gifts" are given similar to a secret santa, only if you sign up to give to everyone (or if there is a large group, sometimes it is split and you give to those you are assigned). some choose to give one gift per cabin, others give individual gifts. this is of course totally optional and can add chaos (mostly-pre cruise) but also a lot of fun to your cruise experience.

DS, DD, DH, DW, DGK - darling Son/Daughter, darling Husband/Wife, darling Grandkids i personally read them as "son", "wife", etc but just know if you are talking about your spouse and refer to them as "h" that means hubby isn't on your "darling" list right now, lol!

DIS - disney or disboard

and b/c i just learned this one myself... SMH - slap my head (like in frustration)
