June 10, 2006 Cruise Thread CONTINUED

Hi everybody,,, Long time , no post. Kay, are you all right? Mary, Mary, Mary,,,, You must come and join us on this new cruise. Wii(get it, the game)
will be doing the June 1, 4day, followed by the June 5 , 3 day on the Wonder. The cruise on June 29 on the Magic is just the four of us. Mammaw will be somewhere, possibly at home. I will have to coordinate with Renneau. I don't know if she and Bill will try to join us on the cruise with Mammaw. Mammaw is apparently REAL excited. She won't say so, but I'm being told by her friends that she is real hyped up and telling them about it. I believe that she will be going to a rehab place shortly to build up her strength. I am going down to see her today. I will work on her house and mine there also. I will be alone. Nobody ever wants to help me, but the kids are on the final portion of spring break. I'm not going to take it away from them.

Hello All!

Rainy weekend here! So, that allows for a lot of school project to be worked on. Stacy has 4 things due by May. . . the "biggie" is her Alabama Portfolio. . .we've worked on it all school year. . .her's has about 125 pages of Alabama history, tourist sites, places her class went this year, current event in the state and journaling. . .I'll be typing the table on contents for her and she'll have to number the pages and then we are throught!
Then the science fair project. . . then book report. . .then poem to learn. I'm so tired of 4th grade!

We are looking into being in Orlando in late May/early June. Doing the Universal thing and other Orlando things.
June will be a busy month for Stacy (2 camps and vacation!)

DH is busy with the Medicaid project. . .his schedule is almost normal but there are a few late days at work and then time on the laptop in the evenings. . . he has jury duty in 2 weeks.

Taking Stacy and friend to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham for her birthday! It is hard to believe that she is 10!

We have a trip with my in-laws at the end of April. . .Stacy has a 3 day weekend so they take "her" to the Beach in Gulf Shores. . .always a fun weekend. She gets all their attention and I can rest!

I've rattled on enough. . . just haven't posted in a long time!

Christine have a wonderful spring break!

Marion and Mary have a great week teaching. . .I know you are wonderful examples for your students.

Dan. . .great to hear from you. Have a wonderful cruise. . .we'll be cruising Disney in March 2009.

all is good - had catarac surgery this week. Vision is terrific now. It was a long time coming.

Bill - you'll love the B2B - that's great that you'll be with Kim and family for a few days.

Rainy morning here also, Char. Stormed all night but it should clear up nicely for the day.

Hi everyone! I was super busy last week, but just caught up on our board. I still haven't had a chance to write a trip review of our cruise. Hopefully this week. I have 2 more big projects to complete for school this week - so hopefully after that things will settle down.

John traveled at the end of last week and leaves again tomorrow. That makes it hard to get a lot done too. I will post more then I can.

glad you got home OK - Was gonna give you a call about 5 pm and got busy doing something else. We will chat soon - had a headache most of the w/end with the eyes and dental problems. This morning all is OK with both. Don't go back and get checked w/eye surgeon until Thursday.

The eye surgeon calls me "Happy Feet" now. Apparently I tried to get off the table during the Catarac surgery and they had to hold my feet down. I sort of remember it and asked about my feet and what happened and she laughed and told me. too funny !!!

Bill: I'm so tempted except that Scott lost his job & is trying to find one w/o any luck. It would be so nice to cruise together again. Mammaw sounds like my Mom. She protested going to WDW in Feb, we booked & gave her no choice, but told everyone else in the family how excited she was to go & afterwards never stopped talking about it. I hope she gets stronger soon

How are the kids doing? PM me to catch up sometime.

Who knows what the future holds? Maybe someone will join us June 20, 2009 or we may have to reschedule it for 2010 depending on finances.

Char: Stacy's projects seem like a lot for her age, but as a History teacher the Alabama project sounds great.


The weather was great here yesterday. I skipped doing & told Scott we're out of here. We went to Brookfield Zoo.

Mary. . .kids here study our state history in the 4th and 9th grades. (I still have the notebook I did in the 9th grade. . .forever ago! (ok, I'm 50 you figure out how long ago that was!) We have Stacy in a magnet school. (they were awarded "A Blue Ribbon Award" from the Federal School Systems this year (big national honor!) We knew how challenging it would be. . .she has been in the program since kindergarten and work has increased each year but from the Mom standpoint it seemed to TRIPLE this year! Every 9 weeks there is a book report, science project, poem, along with regular daily school work and the Alabama History thing. (and field trips and LIFE) I'll be glad when she is a 5th grader! Most parents has said the 4th year at this school is the hardest! I'm trying to help her with a Cover/Front for the Portfolio. . .something about "we are the future of Alabama" and do pictures of her classmates and the entire 4th grade (like lots of photos of them very small like lots of art pictures are today) and something about the notebook being the past.
Any thoughts on that from a teacher standpoint???

Oh well. . . thanks for letting me ramble! Laundry has stop. . .must get going.

Hi! Charlene- love the title of Stacy's report and the idea for the cover. Sounds like a great plan! Maura and Emme's Parochial school is also a Blue Ribbon School. They were awarded the honor the past two years. It is something amazing. Their principal is going to be leaving at the end of the year to become the principal at an all girl's private high school. It sounds like our new principal is going to be wonderful though. ( She was an assistant principal at a neighboring parish elementary school).

Is Stacy getting ready for her birthday? I can't believe it's that time again! We will have to get shopping and send her a surprise!

Christine: Liam got his 1st burn of the year & the worst part was a massive bllister on the top of one ear. Ouch! Enjoy your trip. We want to hear all about it.

The sun came out today.....wow! It was nice while it lasted.....now back to cold, rain, sleet, & possible snow.

4 hour Track Meet tomorrow in this weather.

Update,,,,, Mammaw has ischemic colitis. That means she isn't getting enough blood to the colon. Just what I needed to hear with the knowledge that she isn't getting enough blood to the left leg. What else????? She just transferred to the skilled nursing unit of the hospital. I will be seeing her today. 2 hours down, work, visit, 2 hours back. Will she make it???? Just don't know. I do know that she is excited,,,,, like,,,,, very!!!!!!!!(use a little "valley" accent when saying that line) I suppose that you heard who will be on the other cruise June 29.... Yes,,,, that's right

where 'ya been all week????????? I've been so busy all week. With Drs. apptms. and yesterday had the back pressured cleaned and afterwards the pool was "just HORRID". Much better this am as I put in a new filter and shock treatments. Am going out now and look at the filter again and clean it, as I kept it running all night. All the junk got in the fileter and solor power pipes. Could have gotten someone to come out for $200, but I've done it before and can do it now myself.

Isn't your June cruise out of CA???And it is a 7 day'er??

BTW,,,, 95$ is unacceptable. What a screw job. I don't like it and I am going to complain. I have been in DVC since 1994 and this seems like bad management. Are they not getting enough money? There is a limit that I have with Disney tolerance. I was reading the thread and the people that were accepting were ones that weren't using the benefit. Irrelevant. That was a perk as long as I can remember. Is that their plan? Start removing perks. Good PR. I suspect DVC is very profittable,,, maybe more than anybody ever thought. Tons of money up front. How can you beat that? I even just added on. I will have to call our advisor.

Kay, I left a message for our advisor at DVC. I essentially told him I wanted to know what was up and was unaware that this was in force. I tried to leave the impression that I felt this was not right and was a problem. I don't think he will call me back as I said I had to go out of town this afternoon. Did you eat breakfast at the restaurant? What is it's name again?

NAME: Michae's

I have been trying to get solor and pull pump back in order. I finally called the pool company to just come out on Monday. I can't mess w/it anymore. UGH !!!!!!!! The water was extremely hot in the basked and it shouldn't have been. Hopefully the pump is not gone. That is a double UGH!!!!!!!

But I did get the pool back crystal clear. that is a good thing.
