June 1, 2008-Wonder Double-Dip

We are arriving Saturday around 7:30pm and are staying at the Hampton Inn near the airport. We rented a car and are driving in Sunday morning. Wish we could have gotten in a couple of hours earlier to see the shuttle launch, but my daughter has a dance recital Saturday.

My mom apparently broke her foot yesterday. She's going in for x-rays today and the doctor is going to fit her with a boot. She's very disappointed since she loves the ocean and was looking forward to swimming at CC twice this time.

Bill- Glad to here the news on Mammaw.

We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites. We will most likely leave the car there and take the shuttle over. After the cruise we are going to Vero Beach for a few days.

BTW.. Party city has glow sticks on sale for $0.69. I bought a few they have 4 different colors.

We will be driving from New Orleans Saturday morning and spending the night in Lake City. I figured if we were on the road by 8:00 am Sunday morning we should get to the port around 11:30.

Hey everyone what's up! I know I'm joining in a little late but I just found out I would be going on this cruise for my Graduation! :cool1: It was a last minute thing as we were originally going to Disneyland until the airline we were flying (skybus) went belly up. :sad1: But I am very excited as this will be my first time cursing on the Wonder! The best part is we will be staying on the ship for the three day making this my first back to back cruise! :woohoo:

Just some quick background info for ya guys. I have been on two seven day cruises, once around 2004 and then another for my 17th birthday in 2006. I will be cruising with my Mom and Dad as this is their Graduation gift to me! Don't I have the greatest parents! :thanks: They have been on more cruises than I can remeber with my Mom cruising the most out of my entire family! Fun fact for you guys: Next time your on the Magic you can see my family in the audience for the pretapped performance of "Twice Charmed" that plays in the staterooms. We are also in the new updated Disney Cruise Line travel channel special.

For the four night it will be just me and my Mom and were staying on Deck two in an inside stateroom as that was all that was available at the time we booked! Currently we are just taking it easy as the only thing we have planned is the Brunch at Palo which I'm super excited about as this is my first time cruising as an "adult". :cool1: :rotfl2:

We are then being joined by my Father for the three night and we have booked Palo for our first night and the catamaran snorkeling excursion on Nassua. :cool1: For this leg we got lucky and are staying on Deck 7 with a veranda and we think we got super lucky becuase they put us in a hadicap room (no idea why) thats all the way in the rear of the ship that appears to have an extra big veranda! :cool1:

I'm super excited about this cruise (More than I am about my Graduation on the 31st!) and can't wait to meet you all.

Only 15 more days :cool1:    :cool1:

Sounds like you have great parents!

Congrats on your graduation!

What part of Florida are you from?
I'm in Jax (Orange Park actually).:cool1:
This is our 1st Disney Cruise (but 4th Cruise).

We live just 15min from Disney World. Im very lucky to be so close to the magic! We live in Loughman to be exact but most people have never heard of us and most maps we dont even exsist. Its a very small place, blink and you've driven right through it.

Bill- glad to hear Mammaw will be joining us:thumbsup2

We are also staying at the Radisson at the port... we are coming in to MCO at 5pm then we hired Happy Limo to bring us in.

No posting yet on a meeting for Sunday?????

Only 2 weeks to go:banana:

No posting yet on a meeting for Sunday?????

I have down 3:15 on Sunday, but not sure where. Should we plan for Deck 9 or 10 in case of good weather, and the Promenade Lounge if it's raining?

Bite your tongue. It will NOT be raining. This is the SUNSHINE state!::yes::

So I was just imagining the downpour during boarding on my 4-night last April? :rotfl:At least it was sunny in January - but as it was a 7-night, the DIS meet was scheduled for the the second day! ;) I did skip the character breakfast in favor of the DIS meet though - and from the sounds of the new character breakfast, I think we got more character interaction at the meet! :lmao:

Okay, so where on Deck 9/10 should we plan to meet, since it's going to be sunny and beautiful?

Amanda

Hi all,

We are on deck 7.

We also booked our excursions. Day 3 dinner at Palo (even though its pirate night!) Catamaran cruise around Nassau (then back to the ship), exotic Rasul (has anyone here done this?). Also booked the stingray encounter on Castaway Cay.

I told my son about the shuttle launch. I hope we can see it from our hotel (Country Inn and Suites)

Tricia

We are doing Palo day 3 also - 7pm.:cool1:

Yes. Your memory is obviously fuzzy. That would have been liquid SUNSHINE!:rotfl:

Ok. So I sat down this a.m. and started at the beginning of our thread and read through all of them (yes, all 17 pages)! :surfweb:

I think I am up to speed, so far. :thumbsup2

Joann,,,,, if that was you,, then , yes , I am a doctor. So is my wife Angela. It can be kind of interesting on a cruise. I helped one of our friends whose dad went into congestive heart failure from refusing his meds during the Panama cruise. I helped another lady who had food stuck in her esophagus on the western cruise at Key West. She was terrified and I was able to reassure her what was occurring and also reassured the nurse on the cruise ship by letting her know what was the correct action. That lady eventually was taken off the ship to the emergercy room in Key West and we set sail.. I never got to see the hospital, although I would like to.

This sounds like a plan to me. As you already tried to clarify, though, where on deck 9 or 10? Having never been on board before, I'm not sure where to suggest. Thinking it might be nice to sit down, does Pinocchios Pizzaria make sense. Based on a recent Navigator it'll be open until 3:30.

We have just 6 more days until departing for the trip. We're spending 7 nights in WDW first. Anyone leaving home earlier than May 24th?

TWO WEEKS!!!

Wow!! I am trying to figure out what to pack. I just looked at one of the packing lists on the DIS and it has everything on there and the kitchen sink!:rotfl2:

Meeting at 3:15 sounds great.

Tricia

Isnt there a small lobby like area in the forward loft area? Would that make a good place to meet?

Forward is an adults-only area on Deck 9. Deck 10 forward is the Sports deck - there is some room between the basketball courts and the very front, though.

Here are pretty much all the possibilities:

Deck 10:
- Aft
- Mickey Pool Area Starboard
- Mickey Pool Area Port
- Goofy Pool Area Starboard
- Goofy Pool Area Port
- Cove Pool area Starboard
- Cove Pool area Port
- Forward (by the sports deck)

Deck 9:
- Mickey Pool on the Drink Station side (Port)
- Mickey Pool on Goofy's Galley side (Starboard)
- Goofy Pool Starboard
- Goofy Pool Port

- Deck 7:
- Aft - there's a "hidden" deck there with deck chairs and stuff. This would be a nice place to meet, and most likely fairly uncrowded. :cool1:

Alternatively, we could all meet on Deck 4 (Starboard or Port) with our bright orange life vests - then we could hang out longer as we all wait for the safety drill! :rotfl:

I'd prefer port-side for any outdoor meetings, as starboard is now the smoking side (Jim's allergic). My vote goes for the hidden deck on 7, though.

Amanda

Hmmm, forgot that was an adult only area for some odd reason!

I personally like the idea of meeting on the hidden veranda on deck 7 as well.
