June 1, 2008 7-Night Mexican Riviera Cruise All Aboard is now back on Land

kcarl021 : Not sure if you can take Disney Trans to the port if you are coming in early. I know we don't know who to use either since we are coming in the day before. Going home I want to sure thre transportation so I don't have to carry my luggage to the airport. I am sure someone from CA will answer your question about hotels. A hollywood ture sounds so much fun.

P.S. How is the snow by you? They expect a foot of snow here. What usualy takes me 1/2 hour to get home took me 2 1/2 hours.

We are getting anywhere from 6-10 inches. Its not too bad if you just go slow. They are actually doing a pretty good job of clearing the roads so far. I think we have about 4 inches now and its supposed to get worse over night. School has already been called off so I will be home tomorrow for sure! A good snow every once in a while is sooo pretty!

I have a fire going and have poured a nice glass of wine. What a lovely way to spend the evening!

My Disney Husband is out side doing the drive for the second time.

Sounds good a glazz of wine and a fire. Enjoy your day tomorrow.

We just got done watching the LOST season premiere and DH wants to go into the hot tub. LOL!!! I nixed that, it is still coming down HARD!

I've got the kids tomorrow so we are going to take them to see the Hannah Montana Movie. It is so silly becuase I actually took DD to the concert in St. Louis, but she was tired and wanted to leave half way through!!! Now we are paying to see the same concert on the movie screen??? Oh well, what else to do on a snow day?

You had a prefect day to be off. Going to work this morning was no fun, but not as bad as coming home yesterday. Then coming home after work was normal. Go figure.

How did the move go? Did DD say awake?

I didn't actually have to go to the movie, thank goodess! I split the day in half with a neighbor and I had the kids in the morning. She took them after lunch and I went ahead into work. I was going to just work from home, but it turned out to be a very busy day and I had to go in and get some things done. But by the time I went out the roads were pretty much cleared. Good job road crews!!!

DH is out trying to buy a new car and I am taking the kids to a stamping class tonight. I will check in later on everyone!

How is everyone doing? This is one quiet group!

WOW... I take a nap for a couple of days and we get new people on here... !

Hello Sandy!

I have that link in my favorates on my computer. I keep looking at it. We are tring to figure out what we are going to do on Saturday. We should be there by 12:00. So we will have almost the whole day. You guys are staying at the Best Western to correct?

Take Care

Wow! That link is great! Thanks for sending it. Do you know of any good hotels around the airport? I would ideally just love to get off of the plane and stay somewhere close for the night, then get up the next morning and take a cab somewhere for the day. Any thoughts on that?

Hi to all the new people!!! I got my crusie kit too!!!!! I feel like I am out of time, there is so much to do!!!! I have to make door magnets, and prepare everything. Baseball & softball is starting for our kids this week, the dog just started dog obedience class and we sign up for foot ball in March!!! I AM FREAKING OUT BECAUSE I AM OUT OF TIME FOR THE CRUISE!!!! I need to find good travel insurance, and, shame on me, we are barely going for our passports this week. My mom keeps saying that we are not going to get on the boat, she loves to rub it in, she got her's in December. Well, I have 5 people to buy passports for, not cheap!

So I live in Northern California, but I have an amazing friend who lives in Newport Beach and is in the know of good hotels and things to do, and probably transportation too. If you want to pm me your email address, I will email you from work, I email all day during the week. It is hard for me to get computer time at home.

I will tell you that I had spent a considerable amount of time in 07 lookng into what to do at the ports, adn searching the internet, and it looks like booking on your own, while it has it's risks, could be the way to go.

I hope that we can have more conversations about the fish extenders so I know how much to start buying, do we give a present to everyone on the list every night?

SO EXCITED!!! Hey is anyone going to do the pay it forward and have a post card sent to your house from some one who is crusing right now, I guess they get a character to sign a postcard. If you look at the first main page for the cruise, under helpful links, the info is there. My husband said the other day he wants to go right now. and he is not even obsessive like I am.

do we have to reserve the "babysitting" all at once, like pick our activities the day we can register. how does that work? i know my kids want to go there, to the kids center, is it possible to just drop in, or do you have to have a reservation?

whew, i'm done, this is the longest i have ever written :wizard:

Thanks for the welcome!
:goodvibes

I haven't received any cruise info yet. I keep checking the mail... :rolleyes1

Mendoza, once you register your kids for the kids' clubs you will not need to reserve specific times for them. You just drop them off and pick them up when you want. You may find (as we did) that your kids don't want to leave when you go pick them up! If they happen to be in the Club during meal times, they will take your kid to eat so they let you know when you drop off where they'll be at what time.

For kids under 3, the Flounders nursery DOES require reservations and as I recall (from our first cruise) the spots fill quickly.

I know what you mean about baseball and getting things ready for the cruise. My son plays collage ball. We leave for Florida on the 23rd for a week. One good thing about this is he is in a central Florida tournment and we get to stay on Disney property. We are staying at Sarasota Springs. Then the following week we are off to St Louis for the weekend. Then every week after that we have baseball. On both Saturday and Sunday most of the time. ANd inbetween that he graduates the Saturday before we leave. I have a busy year!:) Oh well.

I started to buy things for the Fish Extenders already. I think it is every night but Sandy can clarify that.:) She is in charge of putting the list together if you look at the first post. This is the first time I have done this on a cruise.

We did are pasports for are last cruise. They way they keep changing there minds I did not want to take a chance.

We also need to get are travel insurance and soon. I think you have to get it by 90 days but I am not sure.

Take care

Flo... it is a great place to stay to see the ship in the morning, but I'm not sure if we will be going up the night before. You will have plenty to do as right across the street from the hotel at the Port are a whole lot of restaurants and shops, there are carnival type rides and games for kids.. it is very quaint and fun there... you can spend the day walking around, shopping , eating and just enjoying the outdoors.

Mendoza5
... I've added your room numbers to the Cruise Roster.

Fish Extender Gifts - This can be EVERY day or you pick a day to distribute all your gifts. There really is no set rule for gift-giving, it is up to you as to what and how much you want to give... each to their own accord. Right now there are not many DISers that have signed up so the roster is quite small... so we could do it everyday... if there are many more that sign up, then we could do it all on one day and just lump our gifts in the Extenders on whatever day you choose. Bear in mind that it is a lot of fun to find something in your extender EVERY day. ::yes::

Mendoza5 - I have never done the "Pay It Forward" card thing... please explain it.

WE are doing the Post Card Exchange when we get on board is this something similar?

Flo & Mendoza 5 -
Flo... we all have our Passports... BUT
Mendoza5 - I don't know where I put them! :crazy2:

WE escaped the fires in October and I grabbed a bunch of stuff and moved alot of things and I have NO IDEA where the passports ended up! I have to do a full blown search for them, but I have to do it sneakily as I do not want to alarm my DH! :rotfl:

I'm dressing up for Pirate Night... who's with me?

This is a lot of fun and we all gather in front of the Mickey Statue between the Early and Late dinner rotations for a group photo taken by the Disney Photographer which is later for sale in Shutters... totally fun.

Who's dressing up?

Mendoza5 can pm you info if you pm her.

For those of you (and me) that put up door signs...

DCL is no longer allowing adhesives on the doors.

So make sure all your stuff is magnetic or that you have
magnets to hold them up

Oh Sandy!:) I sure hope you find them. I don't blame you for not saying any thing. I look at it like this. Once you find them you can say would you like to hear a funny story about the passports.:rotfl: :wizard: that you find them soon.

As far as pirate night. No we do not dress up. Sorry! I don't have any thing. But I promise you if I find something before we cruise (like in Florida at the end of the month) I will.

I am :sad2: that you may not stay.

Sandy, I added the paragraph about what goes into the fish extenders on the first page. Hope you don't mind.

Take care
