Sorry, but I'm starting to get those pre-trip planning jitters.

I've been trying to plan a trip down to the World, June 11-17. I've been checking out the UG's attendance levels and I'm seeing 8's! My wedding Anny's on the 11th and we really wanted to celebrate at Disney. Going at another time is kind of tough due to the kid's (ages 8 & 10) school schedules.

Is going at that time of year worth the crowds or should I consider other dates?

Thanks,
KPoj

I'm hoping it will be worth it because I will be there on my honeymoon June 10th-20th. I know it's going to be hot and crowded, but I'm just going to make sure we don't push ourselves to get everything done. I think it's still going to be really fun and worth going, especially when you have something wonderful to celebrate!

Same time period here. We went in 2004 the first week of June (3-11) and found the first part of the week to be a joy. Lots of walk-ons (even Splash!) and light crowds. By the end of the week, it was getting crowded. One MK EMH was so crowded that we went in and did a few rides and within the hour we were on our way to the Studios. For this trip, I'll be planning more and really researching which park on which day, but I think it's totally doable. I started lurking here in late July and even though the crowds were thick then, people were still reporting that they were able to do a lot by utilizing fast pass.

We are going June 10 - 17. I've been there at that time of year before, and I didn't think it was that bad. Hot yes, it was in the low 90's both times that we were there during that week, but plan on a short rain shower each day (nothing that will ruin you whole day) that cools things down a little for a short time.

Crowds...I thought were manageable. I have never been there during a slow time, so I don't know what to compare it to. Just utilize fast passes for the big rides, and you should be fine.

I think July/August would be worse. In early June, kids are just getting out of school, and I don't think the parents take summer vacations right after school gets out like that. I could be wrong though...

Enjoy your planning...that's half the fun! What a great place to spend your anniversary...ours is on June 22, so we won't quite be there for our anniversary. My DD's birthday is June 5, so we chose to go right in between her birthday and our anniversary.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's good to hear others experiences. I'm trying to figure out something special to do while we're there to celebrate the anniversary. I love planning these trips, but this time I'm just not into it as much. The crowd situation made me freak a bit.

I'm going on my first trip with my DH on June 21-27. I hope that the crowds aren't too bad, but I'm hoping this will be the first of many trips, so that we'll take it slow. I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter what!

HBee,
Have fun in late June. I've been down to the World several times, but this June will be the first for that time of year. I think that you have the right attitude - take it easy, I think I'll adopt your thinking.

okay we were there 6/18 -6/25 this year and here is my take on it. I think alot of people are trying to save money by not buying hopper tickets. So when EMH are at MK it is packed (unbearable packed by noon on EMH for evening). We had a great trip - hot but great clouds and brief shower every day. Needed at least two outfits per day due to sweat and rain. I did wash because we ran out of clean shorts mid week. We will go this same week again next year. Water is expensive and we drank tons.

We will take our cube refrig again and couple of cases of water and start out the day with our water. We loved dining plan and will do that again. We will avoid EMH hrs and the parks with them and probably do the day after schedule. EMHs at MK say on Monday we will then do MK on Tuesday. We will get up early and be out of the parks for afternoon hours for rest/swim/nap. Back out in evenings. Good luck - just do your homework and have a plan.
