Having spent about 3 weeks on the Disney property this year thanks to DVC, I was getting a bit nervous that I was running out of new things to do. So, the family and I decided to start a new weird tradition --- taking jumping photos.

I don't think you have to be my Facebook "friend" to see these. I think this is a public link. If not, I will post the photos directly here. I think many of you will get a kick out of them. The first link features our Disney jumping photos, while the second is from Sea World:

That was obnoxious. Find something better to do with your vacation next time. I'm sure all the charactors were thrilled.

Most of the photos were taken with a video camera, actually. I recently got a Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camcorder, which also has a 5 megapixel camera. The reason I used the camera feature of the Zi8 was because it takes photos instantly, as opposed to most cameras that wait a second or two before taking the photo. This helped since it is hard to "time" a jumping shot. The only downside was photo quality, as I think some of the shots would have been more "crisp" had we used a higher end camera. But the ease of use of the Zi8 is incredible........For those of you who don't know what it is, the Zi8 is Kodak's answer to the "Flip" camera, and it is getting very good reviews. It is the size of a Blackberry, and we have been very happy thus far.

As for the comment that the photos were obnoxious to the characters, I think that the only character that we photographed was the street performer in Hollywood Studios, and it was her suggestion to jump with us. During the first shot, I just jumped next to her and she wasn't quite sure what the heck was going on. But then she asked me to explain a bit, smiled, and asked if she could jump too. When my son jumped near the guy playing the guitar, he actually wasn't very close to him. I would estimate that he was about 25 feet away. The guy actually saw that we were composing a photo and quickly moved to get into the shot without us prompting him to do so. Lastly, just in case you are talking about the shot next to the Tower of Terror Employee, he is making a "serious" look because that is his character ---- it was his idea to do that. He liked the idea of the jumping shot......All in all, everywhere we went, people were laughing and commenting that they too wanted to do jumping shots. We got a lot of offers from people to take the photos for us so that we could all get into the shot. I didn't get the impression that anyone was bothered by it.

I truly enjoyed looking at them! They were awesome!! I loved that some of the characters were getting into the act also! I figured that you let them in on the fun and they loved it! I personally would find it refreshing for someone to take some different photos to keep things fresh! Keep it up!

Awesome pictures!:thumbsup2

I wish I could get my girls to pose for even one picture! The best luck I had was when they were getting their faces painted at the AK. Those are the pics in my signature. We leave in 40 days so maybe we'll get some this trip:cutie:.

Those look great - and the puzzled looks on some of the folks in the background make them even funnier! :rotfl2:

Cool shots. What a great way to add to the Disney experience and make the picture sharing of your trips to others so exciting.

I can imagine the looks you got!!!! It just goes to show that there is ALWAYS something new to do at Disney. DVC rocks, doesn't it??:cool1:

:thumbsup2 I even think that was my first Facebook experience. Loved the pics!!

That's hysterical! I wish we had thought of that! It must have been funny getting some of the CM's to pose or jump, too!

And people ask HOW or WHY we go to Disney so much....yeeeshh! :lmao:

I think these are great! I wish I was creative enough to think of stuff like this while we're in the parks!!!
