I'm looking to get some type of jumper product for our newest little one. Our first two kiddos used an exersaucer but I've hear good things about jumpers lately. Just curious if anyone has used the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo and/or the Graco doorway jumper. I always thought the doorway jumpers weren't safe, but the reviews sound good and no safety issues. Seems like the stationary Jumperoo has more toys and can spin 360 degrees but is pretty bulky, and the doorway jumper is pretty basic but is portable. I'd like to be able to move it from room to room if possible, but don't want to get the doorway one if it isn't very entertaining for the baby. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Our kids absolutely loved the Rainforest Jumperoo! They used it until well over a year old. We never tried the door jumpers, but the jumperoo was a must have for us.

We had a doorway jump thing and LOVED it. No safety issue ever. It was nice because it was easily moved and not bulky at all.

We had both. My son LOVED the doorway jumper, he would just go and go in that thing. He liked the Jumparoo too, but not nearly as much. The Jumparoo doesn't bounce nearly as much, it's not even like they're really jumping, as compared to the doorway jumper.

Never had any safety issues with the doorway jumper, and that thing really saved my sanity because for a while, it was the ONLY place DS was happy!

As a chiropractor, I will tell you don't buy either. They are terrible for your childs developing back, they prevent the normal curve of the lumbar spine from developing properly (laying on their stomach and crawling promotes a normal curve). If their muscles aren't strong enough to hold them up on their own it's even worse. Sorry.

I used the Jump-a-roo for DS5&DS4 and they seemed to like it fine.
It was okay because the legs could un-lock and be moved from room to room, or outside.

I was always a little leary of the doorway jumpers. Didn't they used to be called Johnny Jumpers ? I'm pretty sure they stopped making them for a while, but I see they have become popular again.

We had the rainforest jumper too. I gave it away after my 3 yr old dd out grew it. We are going to be getting a new one for my new dd. I use to have the doorway jumper too it was ok but like you said no toys really. And with the jumperoo it is a bit bulky but there is a button that you can easily push on the bottom ring of the frame and ti collapses in so you can move it around. I also liked the fact that I could take it outside when the kids were playing and she would have a safe place to play and would be in one place.

Dd lives her jumperoo. A few friend had the door jumper and would put a may under the baby that would make noise and play music while they jumped.
Dd pt hates both of them though. Because they put stress on joints. We limited dd to ten minutes twice a day

We got one for my three and a half month old. So far he is really enjoying it! I do have to put a pillow undearneath because his feet don't quite reach the floor though! :goodvibes

A chiropractor? Sorry man, but my doctor gave them a big thumbs up. ;)

We had a door jumper. My VERY difficult first child loved the thing!! He would jump and laugh!! Our doctor too told us they were great exercise. She said no to walkers and was not crazy about exersaucers. Our four year spend little time in it but he was pretty much a lap baby:worship:

We had a preemie daughter and she had to go to physical therapy for her entire first year. She didn't need to go, it was just for observations purposes. But, they too told us to never put her in a johnny jump up or anything that lets the baby put weight on their legs before they are ready to walk. They told us it was bad for their back, legs and something else. I got a really good swing and a nice activity mat!

psst sometimes doctors are not the best child development experts. Our original pedi thought I was a hysterical mother because I noticed my daughter had a back issue (she would bend backwards until her head and behind were touching all the time. Like it was her normal position). I brought it to her attention several times and was basically told yeah yeah she's 4 months its what they do. You're a first time mom you don't know. I got her evaluated by early intervention, she had severe hypertonia in her back and very little strength in her abdomen. So she could not physically sit up. If I listened to my doctor she would not have been in PT for a very long time.

Sorry that you believe everything your MD tells you without doing your own research. Why do you think medical malpractice insurance is so high? They make mistakes. 98,000 people die per year in the US due to medical errors.

We had the rainforest Jumparoo and DD LOVED it. It is still up in our bedroom and DD, 13 mo. now still plays with the toys on it. She wouldn't dare get in it these days :)

I did not have the doorway jumper. I was a little afraid of it. It just didn't seem safe to me. Maybe there are, I never really looked into them.

My niece had both and loved them. The great thing about the doorway one is that it is easily transportable so my niece was able to use it at Grandma's as well. Just make sure that the moldings on your doorways are the same on both sides. My mom brought it with her to my house one time and it wouldn't fit on any of the doorways because of the crazy way my house was designed.
