We are starting to plan our next trip which won't be until '08. I really wanted to go in May but we are reconsidering taking my DD out of school. Plus if we go in the summer we can stay longer. Now I would like to go at the end of Aug hoping it won't be as crowded once kids start going back to school. Our school doesn't start until the Wed after Labor Day. My DH wants to go in July because he says it won't be as humid as Aug(I think they might be about the same) and also he is concerned about hurricanes. Can anyone give me some input on what they think about WDW in July or Aug?

I have been in July (03) and August (05 and 06). Both times we went in July I thought it was hot and humid. After having read these boards about how many people thought August was hot, I got kind of concerned, but I thought that I would make the best of it. Well, when we went in August, it wasn't nearly as hot as I thought. For one thing, Ernesto was going up the eastern coast, and that cooled things down to around 80 degrees. Going in late August there wasn't nearly the crowds as there are in August because the schools in the south are back in session. It was nice walking through the parks without being elbow to elbow. We were able to walk right onto the rides. We even got in early for our ADRs, which was really nice!

I think it started getting somewhat crowded the Friday and Saturday of our trip. It was Labor Day weekend and the Tom Joyner Family Reunion was at Disney, so that brought in the crowds, although it was still very manageable.

I personally prefer August, although having had gone in July, I was prepared for the crowds, but hoped for the not so crowded.

hi from across the pond. We are going this Aug 13th for 2 weeks how hot will it be then ?

Pretty much any day over the summer is hot & humid with afternoon thunderstorms - bring the swimwear!!

I went for the 1st time in August last year (had been in June, though) from Aug. 25-29 and although it was hot & humid, crowds were very low.

HTH!!! :upsidedow

We went in July 06 and the crowds were pretty awful - much worse than early June, when we'd gone previously. I'm thinking August has got to be at least a little better crowd-wise since many schools are back in session. The heat is bad but you'll be ok if you stay hydrated. Heat is much worse when coupled with huge crowds.

We went in august this past year the last week before labor day, it was haot but it wasn't busy. Lots of kids down south go back to school. It was really a great trip with little lines. It is very hot though. But I'll take hot with no lines than hot with lines.

But I'll take hot with no lines than hot with lines.

That's what I was thinking. I'm guessing July is just as hot and humid so I can deal with that but I can't deal with large crowds even when the weather is nice :rolleyes1 . We will stay on site and take mid day breaks to take naps and use the pool so hopefully that will help with the heat. Thanks for the replies. I have talked my husband into August.

In Fl, schools are required by law now to not start more than fourteen days before labor day. Our teacher work week is August 12th or something. Students return on the week of the 20th. This is a new deal for us. Last year, my first day back to work was July 30th. Students started the first week of august last year. I would stick with the end of Aug if you could.
