We are in the process of planning a July 4th or 5th until Juy 12th trip.
Need your expertise, are there any good discounts for the Moderates or even AKL at this time of year?

Thanks for your help

Chuck PA,

Your dates are almost the same as ours for WDW! We visit every year at this time, and love the July 4th holiday at Disney.

The deluxe resorts begin their value season on July 4th. AKL, and WL along with the moderates and values are on a different schedule, and I believe it is their regular season.

Last year there were plenty of AP rates, and codes to get a fairly good deal. At a deluxe, the YC, we had a rate of $179, which is comparable to a moderate during regular season without any discounts. Don't count out the deluxes, because you may get a great deal.

Check mousesavers.com for up to date code and discount information on the WDW resorts. One can never be sure when the discounts or if the discounts will come out, but I think it's pretty safe to say something will be available for that time.

Any other questions, let me know. :):D:)

I am glad to hear that there could be discounts at that time of year. I figured it was the height of the season.

How crowded is the Magic Kingdom on July 4th? We have heard that the fireworks display on that day are out of this world. Can you get into the park at night or because of capacity reasons, close the gates so to speak?

Do any of the other parks do anything special for 4th of July?
We are trying to do this vacation up a bit, our son is graduating 8th grade and this may be the last trip for a few years (high school tuition)

We have gone at the end of August, the parks are empty and they close earlier so we are looking forward to the late night closings.

After years of traveling off-season, my wife and I are plotting our first Disney World summer trip, for next July. I asked about crowding and weather and stuff, and this is what I was told:

Magic Kingdom crowds are intense...and on July 4th, almost inpenetrable. You need to stake out a spot early for the fireworks. Hours in advance, in fact. One person told me about giving up and going to the Poly for dinner and hoping to see the fireworks from the beach there -- but it was PACKED with people, and they ended up watching from the boat dock.

I'm told that if you plan properly, though, it can be a great time to see The World. Arrive at the parks early, and leave by lunch time, and return in the evening. You'll avoid the worst of the heat and the crowds. (And the heat - I gather - is a force to be reckoned with. It can be 85 at dawn, and 95 or worse by noon.)

Anyway, that's what I've heard ...I'll find out for certain when you do, next July!! :D

Our trip this past summer was over July the 4th and we loved it. We got a great discount and stayed at the CBR. The crowds were manageable. We spent the 4th in MGM to watch the fireworks over the hat. They were incredible! It is so beautiful there and the resort had all sorts of fun things for the kids to do on that day. Have a great time this summer!:)
