Thank you for any advice you can provide…

Family of six, kids 17, 19, 23, and 24 headed to BRV for two nights in a 2-bedroom for (hopefully) Moonlight Madness Mon and Tues July 10 & 11, and want to add two days beforehand to make it a longer trip.

Won’t do parks except for the AK MM on 7/11 but might add a day on parks.

Thinking of adding Sat & Sun night 2-bedroom in AKV (our home resort, which would be savannah view only in our opinion ), SSR, OKW, or BLT or just adding two nights at the front at BRV.

Point costs are fairly similar and not a major concern since the time together is the most important thing for us.

Which would be the best for resort only stay in your opinion? Walking or boats to Disney Springs, bike rental, golf, pontoon rental, pools, etc. would be of primary interest.

What would you do?

Thanks for your thoughts!

We have stayed in all of the resorts you are considering and each has qualities to recommend them. There is no bad choice:-) With no parks planned I would consider these two options for your family of young adults: SSR provides easy access to Disney Springs, lots of restaurant choices, shopping, music on the stage areas in the evening. However, BRV is a beautiful resort, requires no moving in the middle of your stay, has Geyser point, great pools, and gives easy access to the boat and the monorail for the MK resorts and their restaurants.

For a resort stay, I'd go savanna view hands down. There are a lot of them, so it shouldn't be hard to book.

Last time we stayed at OKW, we had the most gorgeous view of the 7th green. I think DH and DS could have sat on the balcony all day and watched (and critiqued) the golfers.
Only once did I attempt the July heat. I had a split stay between Kidani, where it was too hot out to even sit on the balcony, and a VGF Lake view. There it was so hot I spent an entire day just sitting on the couch watching the boats go back and forth on the lagoon, and especially since my points were "due 'em or lose them (Aug UY), it was a pleasant day.

Thank you all for the suggestions/input. Since our home resort is AKV, we love the savanna and have stayed there 5 times in the past 3 years. I agree that this is where my heart is being pulled, but doing something different is also appealing. SSR with easy access to DS would be nice. And not having to move/split and stay at BRV with all of the activities there seems like a good idea. Thus my second-guessing of which to do. :)

On a short-ish trip like this, I'd probably add the two nights at BRV and keep it as my home base. Easy enough to get over to the other MK resorts for a pontoon boat, bars, and other dining.

I hear you on the heat in July. I think pools will be our salvation. :)

You make a great point about avoiding the split stay. We’ll have a car, but even so, packing out and in again would not be ideal. Thanks for emphasizing this.
