July Park Hours - Closing too early?

Coming from so Cal in July for our first ever trip to WDW. Just saw the park hours and was quite surprised that MK is only open until 10:00 pm in July. Here in Anaheim, DL stays open until Midnight every night in the summer, so I guess I've just been caught a bit offgaurd by the hours. EMH doesn't really help me much, as I arrive and leave on Wednesdays and that's when EMH is for MK.

Are these typical Summertime hours for MK? Did MK ever "regularly" close after midnight in recent years, or am I just "spoiled?"

A quick look at historical hours since 2002 shows that the only time in the summer MK is open till midnight is on July 4. On the old "e-ticket" nights the park would often be open till after midnight in the summer for those who were staying on site and wanted to pay extra. The same holds for EMH now on nights the park is scheduled to be open till 9 or later.

I think the only night that MK is scheduled to be open past midnight for everyone is New Year's Eve.

We usually go at some point over the summer. Yes, these are typical hours for MK. Sorry.

Also remember that Wishes is at 10:00PM, the shops are open for at least an hour past closing and if you are staying to see the Kiss Goodnight that will be even a little later. So while the rides may be closed down, there is still plenty to do after 10:00PM.
