I have a FTP for July at the Poly Concierge. But I have been reading some posts about how crazy it gets in the summer at WDW and I feel like I am not going to enjoy my vacation. I was looking at changing for Sept, and for what I have paid at Poly I can get airline tickets, transfers and a moderate for less $$- or even getting APs and moderate for the same $$. My family is being of no help, although everyone agrees that they don't want to go to the parks and have 2 hour waits on the rides. The other thing I have to consider is now paying for the add'l 7 nights at the HRH. Please help, you guys have been very helpful before, and I know I can count on you guys to point out the good, the bad and the ugly with my plans. Thanks!!

On the plus side of changing - Poly doesn't have a hot tub, POR does. And with POR, you can take a nice boat down the Sassagoula river to DTD. And you can probably have a nice time for a lot less money, with less heat, and less crowds.

But, concierge is supposed to be really nice, and Poly is a monorail resort, and you can't know for sure that rooms will be available at POR in Sept, since thery are closing bits of it down. I can tell you Poly looks beautiful, and 'Ohana is right there...

Those are my things to consider. I haven't stayed at either yet, but I've booked POR, in August. Truth to tell, my break test is the hot tub. For that reaon, the Poly is the one deluxe I probably wouldn't stay at. But it depends on your priorities. I'm told mine are a little strange.

Kungaloosh!

So if you switched to September, would you still do HRH in July -- if so, you'd still have to pay for the plane tickets, right? So you must be talking about maybe switching everything to September. Did you get a good rate at HRH, and can you still get that in September? Are your kids school age, and will you have to pull them out of school to go in September (might be a problem if you're planning on spending two whole weeks in Orlando).

The parks will be jammed and super hot in July, no question about that. To me, though, summer vaction is summer vaction -- not fall vacation -- and WDW just wouldn't be the same without 95 degree heat, high humidity, and hour long waits for Splash Mountain. And Poly concierge for seven days -- wow! I'd hang in there and I'll bet you have a trip to remember for always -- a little adversity will make for good stories in the years to come.

manhattan..... you are only 20 days away from your trip now - is it really possible to make all these changes? aren't there penalties by now?

I still think you will have a great time - I went in August last year and the crowds were good, yes it is definately hot - but you get a lot of use of the pool.

Poly is a beautiful deluxe property - and concierge treatment really enhances your stay... I can't believe you are thinking of changing it when you are so close :(

Good luck deciding

I guess I should have mentioned that we will still be going to Orlando in July- but would stay the entire time at HRH........which we don't mind with the front of the line access. I am thinking first week of Sept- kids aren't even in school yet. And I called WDTC and they said no penalty fees if the dates are available- which they are. Keep posting your thoughts.........please!
