July or August?

DH and I are thinking of coming back to see Mickey around the end of July, or in August. We can deal with the heat, but how are the crowds?

We last went to WDW at Christmas, and we're still a little bit traumatized...

It will be crowded, but not as crowded as the weeks around Christmas and New Year's Day.

If you can, visit during the latter half of August. Crowds decrease somewhat from the peak summer levels during the last half of August - many schools start up around then.

We were there in July of 2002-(DS #2 was our souviner) and I will tell you, it was hot...we have gone every year since 1998, so we figured we would just take it slow...we had a great time!! I do not think the crowds were terrible. We always got to the parks early and left around 2-3. DS and I went in August for 3 days (at the end of the month) and the crowds were less than the July trip. It was still hot, though. Believe it or not, I did think it was going to be HOTTER than it was! As you can see by my signature, we are going again in August this year. Both DS and DH are in school, so our May trips are out of the question now. Hope this helps.

I have always went in June, July, and August because of my vacation time (I'm a teacher). I have found that all of those months are crowded, but not unbearably so. It is hotter in Aug. than the other two months though. I agree with going at the end of Aug. if you can. It will be less crowded, even if it is hotter. A bonus is that we love the water parks and they feel great in the hotter weather! Make sure you use fastpass and go early in the morning to the parks, taking breaks in the afternoon back at the resort pool or at a water park so you can cool down. We love this time of year and always have a great time!
