July or August?

Summer 2014 our family is thinking of going to California for 3 weeks. Which 3 weeks in the Summer is best as far as crowds? Thanks!

True. But the last 3 weeks of August will be less crowded than the
last three weeks of July? Or am I incorrect? What is YOUR suggestion
for which 3 weeks in the July/August is best as far as crowds?

When I was deciding what month in the summer to go I was told to avoid August. I went in June and the crowds were unbearable but I think I picked a few bad days because everyone that went before or after me said it was fine.

As an annual passholder, I witness crowds all summer until after Labor Day. There never seems to be a slow day!
