Here's an interesting theory as to why they might not cancel July just yet...lets assume for a moment that DCL decides it wants to do test cruises so that they can get approval to sail with non vaccinated kids. (just a thought exercise here, I have no idea if this is what they want)
So they are getting all their ducks in a row, getting the agreements in place, the ship staffed up, vaccinated, etc. but it's still too soon to know exactly when they plan to be ready to go and actually apply for the test cruise. Need a few more weeks for all that to become clearer.
If you are going to do a test cruise , possibly as early as July, do you as DCL cancel the cruise, and then later offer volunteers the option to go on your test? If you were originally going to be on the ship that same time, you'd feel pretty bummed out.
OR get creative here. Say the test cruise is going to be a specific July sailing on the Dream...send an email to everyone on that cruise letting them know that it is cancelled and being turned into a test cruise. They have 3 options
1 - Cancel and get a full refund
2 - Get a FCC equal to 125%
3 - Volunteer to be on the test cruise (18+ only, vaccine or health note required, etc). If you choose this option, your reservation will remain AND you get a 100% FCC or refund since they can't technically make money on the test cruise.
Could be an easy and fair way to get the volunteers, and a reason why they haven't canceled July just yet.
