July/August 2010 Codes

To everyone already booking for next summer.....is there any reason your booking so soon? :confused3
I would like to go next May and wanted to know if there is some reason I should be booking the trip some time soon. Sorry to be so off topic, but I thought there might be something that I've missed since the last time we went. (May 2007) :confused3

Personally, since our dates are not at all flexible because we're also attending a conference, I want to make sure we get exactly where we want to be. We had been considering camping, but the FW tent area is already full! Plus, this is the first time I am planning a Disney vacation on my own, and I am nervous and would like to have everything as straightened out as possible.

I am toying with:

* booking for 7 days with AAA discount, then downgrading to 4 if the 4/3 deal or free dining don't come through,

or

* booking for 4 days with AAA and trying to extend to 7 if the one of the deals does come through.

All of you guys seem so good at this stuff, I'm very happy to be a part of this board. It gives me confidence for the first time I have the reins of planning!

I'm joining the code watch too. We haven't booked yet, but this is probably our only time we can go in 2010. Hoping for a 40% bounceback that we can book while we are there next month, but even better would be the 4/3 deal for the public.:thumbsup2

:surfweb:I haven't booked but wishing for the 4/3 deal. :rolleyes1Would looooove to go back to Caribbean Beach or another moderate. :lovestrucThat's the only way staying on property will be affordable.

Question:

If I already have a reservation, and I find a code here, will Disney discount/refund the difference on my package? What are my options?

:confused3

Hoping for free dining in August 2010. Anytime after the 17th would be fine for me! I haven't booked yet, as I am hoping it will encourage Disney to put out more discounts due to having less rooms booked far in advance. We are hoping for Pop Century. We like it better than the moderates and it costs less per night.
Meanwhile, I keep right on saving for vacation with my fingers crossed!

for the AAA discount to you have to tell them a code or do they put the 20% off automaticlly

I am planning on going 7/31/10 through 8/7/10 and I made my reservations at the end of August. The reason I do this is because I make my initial $200 deposit and then pay a little every pay day, sort of a "vacation on layaway plan." I love it, the money doesn't hit me all at once and it gives me a comfort zone of knowing I have what I want. As you can tell by my signature - WLR! I am taking my grandniece and my cousin's granddaughter for their first visits!
:yay:

I would assume that there isn't anything out for the month of May 2010 seeing how it's not a down month for Disney???? Anyone know? :confused3

Just booked the WL through the Disney reservation system for the first week in July with a 20% discount using my AAA card. Wanted to book this before all of the AAA rooms were gone. Wanting for a better rate.:thumbsup2

I just book through AAA. They do everything. I only use the offcial Disney Website to do research.

Just a thought. If you book through AAA, are you allowed to make request. If not then I would use the Disney reservation site. That way you can request location of where you would like to stay.:thumbsup2

Of course you are! Just tell your AAA travel agent what your requests are and they will submit them for you.

I agree. The last request I made throught AAA was to be as close to another family as we could be that we were traveling with. It was accommodated (we were on the same floor at VWL).:thumbsup2
AAA will also book all of your ADRs if you want them to. I personnally like to do it myself.
:)

Planning a "family honeymoon" for next August. My guys are wanting a cruise but I'm hoping for Disney. :rotfl: We will decide soon enough but I want to subscribe for codes just in case.

Add me to the July/August 2010 code watchers.........

I just wanted to mention to those who asked, Disney extended the 4/3 deal from the end of June to mid-august IN mid/end Jan. 09 (like the 20th). I remember because I booked for my family and a friend's family, who lives in California. She paid me when we met up on our annual girls trip (in Chicago mid-Feb) with Disney Dollars. March 29th was the last day to book. I'm hoping Disney continues this tradition (offering deals earlier in the year for the summer as oppose to May - a trend I've noticed).

Anyway, I'm on board to stalking Disney for codes/deals!:surfweb:
