July AP Discount Watching Thread

If you are staying deluxe the room discount for AP's may save you more than a base ticket. I've been running numbers for our 9 night June stay, and I actually save $100 with an AP discount on the room staying at one of the resorts with the 35% room discount for AP's.

Plus the free memory maker which could also save $ if you were someone (which we are) who would buy it regardless.

I spoke with a CM and they said they haven't been given the official dates yet, but check in Mid March... ;o) So as per someone else's observations above i think mid march will be a good bet, especially when looking at the current expiration dates etc..

Thanks for checking! Anxiously waiting

Thanks all... I was hoping that with some offers expiring March 5, that some new ones would be out in the next few days.

that's what I've been thinking is around the 16th because Disney usually waits around two months before releasing more AP dates. The last AP discounts came out January 12th.

That would be a good bet, although i really hope its the 5th!! But I think the 16th or there abouts would be more logical and probable...

I just posted in one of the other threads, but wanted to follow up here too. I just booked 2 weeks at the Poly through the TA and its discount was roughly 22%. While not the 30% I would like, its still a sizable discount and available at a time when there is very good availability of rooms. If something comes out a little cheaper with more aggressive discounts they will be added / substituted in so there is no risk in that regard. Just wanted to update!

Surprised it hasn't appeared yet based on the 2016 release schedule. Hopefully soon- looking for that 35%

:wizard: Waiting patiently for the AP discounts for July to be announced!! Just wondering what the discounts might be given the limited availability of rooms with CBR being such a mess.....

I'm waiting as well - curious to see if the AP discount is better than the magical one we have right now.

Add us to the waiting list as well! We have a trip planned for July and would like for a room discount!

following.

I'm currently considering purchasing an AP. I would like to weigh out the money (as many of you have stated: determine if it's worth it) .

The reason we purchased AP's initially was because we knew we were going to stay for prolonged periods twice in the same 12 month time frame. It was actually much more cost effective to purchase an AP just for those 2 trips alone, we didn't really look at the AP discounts, although we probably should've! The benefit for us was also the fact we are Florida Residents, so we were able to pay a deposit and then pay monthly over 12 months. This made the trips much more financially friendly and easier to handle, so it was a win win for us.

We sat down and looked at all the days we wanted to be in the parks over the 2 trips, and to purchase our FR tickets would've been $400+ more overall than buying the whole family AP's. So we went AP. I guess the downside to AP's is that it kind of makes you want to get the most of it and go more... not that this is bad, but potentially may make you spend more money on additional trips to get your monies worth! lol....

We just viewed it as a simple way to save money while also being able spend as much time as we wanted in the parks and hopping between them etc... Takes a lot of pressure of to 'cram' the parks in when you know you can simply go as many times as you want. But do some math and figure it out, it may end up being a big discount... or it may not.

I do like this idea. Last year I took two trips to Disney (the second I didn't know about before taking the first), and an AP would have been cheaper is so many ways (discounts and tickets). Now, I'm considering buying in. I'm currently doing the math.

Now, people say last year the summer discount was 35%. Was that in every Disney hotel? We're looking to stay at the Contemporary this year, and from what I have seen in the past, they don't typically offer that large of a discount (I think I've seen between 15-25%).

The discount varies as does the timing, hence there being so many people in this thread waiting for it! lol

We chose the AP's simply based on cost of tickets to the parks, while we knew of 'some' of the other perks, i.e. discount for rooms, food etc.. We are also Florida Residents so get that discount on rooms too when it comes out, so we didn't really factor this in. For us, the ability to pay the tickets off over 12 months was also a no brainer! Takes a big chunk out of the up front costs. Now, if I had to pay out upfront and I had the money would i still do it? Probably, but if its financially a stretch to do it then i would personally prefer to do it the old fashioned way and eat the potential discounts in favor of less money upfront. However, in our case the savings were huge!

The availability of rooms and hotels will vary as will the discount, contemporary is always a fan favorite so it may be tough to get in. This is why I would book there at rack rate and then potentially add the discount as soon as it comes out. Shopping around can get you good incentives and discounts, i think mine worked out to around 22% from Rack rate without any AP or resident discounts, getting another 3%+ would be nice but won't make or break our vacation. Good luck!

Have to imagine the discount will be released soon. A few people thought this week aorund the 16th, let's see!

Thank you for all this information!! I will take you up on it, and I'm still crunching the numbers. I'm waiting the release of the summer discounts to see
what comes out.

Oh, also the AP discounts are good on most (all?) restaurants? or just QS's? I'm going to search around for a list of places.
