July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

Good Morning everyone!! It seems like almost everyone in my family has taken a dive off the medical deep end. Well, first myself then Darren. He had a WEIRD allergic reaction to an antibiotic (tingling hands and feet, along with strange muscle aches) but thankfully since stopping the antibiotic, he's feeling better each day. Now, Brandon's asthma has flared up and he had pink eye!! YUCK!! Hopefully Julianna can stay off this train and stay healthy. This family is single handedly keeping the medical profession and the drug comapnies in business lately. Hopefully it will end soon!!

I hope all of you have a GREAT time greeting the Magic when she arrives in CA. Of course, being on the East Coast prevents us from joining you, but we'll be there in spirit!!

Soccer-family of 4, please. I vote for Acapulco's at 4:00 unless Craig gets good news about the dock area and then we can be there earlier.

Hmmm, wonder how many DIS'ers are gonna show up ...... :confused3

Green t-shirts are a good idea. I'll try and remember to bring the magnets I bought for all of our doors. pirate:

Can it be? :earseek: We'll be laying eyes on the Magic in only 2 weeks? :cool1: :cheer2: :bounce:

Cheri -- it is a guidebook that describes the cruise! It has added several new pages describing the West Coast Cruise but the information just describes the shore excursions since the book went to print prior to the cruise there is no reader reviews!

All of the menus for each night is in there as well as a lot of helpful hints. I was able to read the whole book on Saturday as I was up until after two and then was up every hour until the boys fell asleep -- somewhere around 4:30!!

I have been on several Disney cruises and I still learned something!

You all have fun seeing the Majic off! I will be with you in spirit!!!

Still researching. Understand that Disney is coordinating a big send off at Ports O' Call Village. Plans so far:

:Pinkbounc Floatilla to accompany Magic from terminal to habor breakwater
:Pinkbounc Mickey hands for vistors to wave goodbye
:Pinkbounc Streamers
:Pinkbounc Kites
:Pinkbounc Fireworks
:Pinkbounc Surprises
:Pinkbounc Horn blow

Told it will take Magic 1 hour to get from Terminal to breakwater. I'll keep you updated as I get more info. Hopefully, today.

The 'Amous Group' includes 3. I agree.... Acapulco's at 4:00 unless Craig gets good news about the dock area. I'll have my green shirt on! :teeth:

Amy

Thanks for the update Craig! Sounds like Ports O'Call is the place to be. The more we hear about it, the more excited I get. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Dear all,
I am still planning a crop on board...if you are interested leave me a message here. I am traveling with my dh and dd age 8, my sister pattybell and her kids ds 8 and dd 6.
I have been to the store to find great disney stickers and supplies for all the photos I always buy onboard and i will bring extra sharp objects for those who travel from afar.
The cruise is my huge birthday present and i will :bounce: celebrate my b-day at Palo on 7-11 :Pinkbounc :rotfl: :bounce: hence my dh willingness to let me crop onboard.

p.s. Lori ,I hope your family all feels better, my dd is still recovering from an ear infection. I love all the news about the 28th...too bad we can't come...we are still planning a weekday trip to the Disneyland before school gets out.....joan

joan...

I won't be scrapping this trip, but I noticed that your DD and my DD are the same age! Perhaps they'll spend some time together in the lab!

Hi everyone! My friend is going to Cabo later this month. She has gone to the Mango Deck and is staying at the Melia this time. She said the Mango Deck is nice and it is appropriate for kids. I told her to keep her eyes out for us and take pictures. She'll let me know when she gets back. Let me know if you have any questions for her. She said it should be reallly hot then. I hope not too hot. Anyone know the average daily temp. there that time of the year?

It is quite exciting reading all the posts from those on board right now. It sounds like they have lots of fun things planned for them. I hope we get to experience those things. It was quite sad that they lost a Disboard person at CC, though. How awful for all on board. I hope they can still have fun. My prayers go out to the family and friends of the person who died.

I was checking my reservation this morning and we finally got our cabin assignment. I'm still holding out for something on deck 8, but nothing from my TA on that. Anyway, we got cabin assignment 6556, so hello to our neighbors in 6562 Val and Stu and a shout out to our neighbors directly across the Midship lobby in 6060 Kim and Family!!!!

Also, does anyone know what that white area that is next to our stateroom is. I believe it's some sort of Cast stairwell, but does anyone know for sure? I've heard these can be loud, so I'm a little worried.

Lori...from what I've read, that white area next to your cabin just houses wiring...possibly where the two halves of the ship were put together. I've read tons of good reviews on that cabin, so I don't think you should worry! Do a search for "6556" and you'll see!

Thanks Kim. I was worried it might be a crew area, or storage area, which could produce a TON of noise. I'm thankful with this location, as I really didn't want a connecting room, and this one isn't. I also didn't want a solid balcony, and this one had the plexiglass. I'm really looking forward to trying a mid-ship location as we've always sailed aft.

Sure has been quiet around here lately.

Lori - glad to hear you got your room assignment and it sounds like a good one. How are you feeling these days? How's physical therapy going?

Sara - sorry to hear you and Mike won't be joining us on the 28th.

Joan - I don't plan on scrapping on board but I have started collecting Mexico related scrapbook supplies.

It is too quiet on this board. I usually hop on to take a break during the day. We wish we could be in California this weekend for the ship watching events, I know I am due for a vacation! Looking forward to hearing about it on Monday!

Enjoy!

Hi Sheila, I actually haven't gone to PT all this week because Brandon has been home with a cold, pink eye, and a flare up of his asthma. Believe it or not, I feel better. I think it's the not rushing around and resting that is helping. My "session" at PT ends next week, and I'm not going to go back until after our trip. I'm going to take June off to rest, so hopefully I'm not so tired (still need 2 - 3 hour nap to get through the day) and get some stamina back. I almost passed out waiting in line INSIDE at Julianna's talent show, so waiting in line at DL, Sea World, etc doesn't look too promising now. So, need my rest. If after all that, and when the kids start camp, if I think I need more PT, I'll start up again in August. Otherwise, I'm returning to the gym to try to lose this weight I've put on since all this happened, 10 lbs and still growing. YUCK!!!! AND I wanted to lose 20 lbs BEFORE the cruise, looks like I might put on 20 lbs!! These meds they have me on, STINK!!!!

Lori,

Welcome to Deck 6! We're only 3 cabins away from you guys!

Sorry I haven't been on the boards too much -- just finished up my play this past weekend -- "London Suite" and we had the cast party (BBQ) at our house on Sunday after the last show.

I'm always sorry when a show is over, but now I can really think about our trip! Can't wait!!!! :Pinkbounc

We're renting a car now in LA instead of taking transfers. So, now we can take Carly & Alexis to a beach when we go to Disneyland. They said they're not interested in going to the parks. Go figure... well, they're 18 now and the beach is much more interesting to them :confused3

Val

Dear All,
I am getting excited....dd and i are planning a midweek trip to disneyland before the summer rush... :sunny:

I do know that California Adventure is always less crowded than Disneyland and if u get tickets in advance you can get on the monorail in downtown disney and be dropped in tomorrowland avoiding all of the entry crowds.

Kim...I am sure my dd would love to see your dd in the lab....on our 2003 DC she loved the kids program so much she chose to go there even on Castaway Cay!!!We have been on lots of cruises on Princess but never had that experience.

Lori...my dh gets overwelmed at Disney and prefers to catch upon his sleep :confused3 on our vacations so he often goes back to the hotel for a break (nap) and the monorail tip is a easy way back to the hotels...to decrease waiting in lines look at fastpass.
If you do Universal studios they have a front of the line pass that is big bucks but it was not for a specific person so we all used it to miss long lines. If you want more info leave me a message. Feel better!!!!

joan :wave2: :hourglass

Happy Thursday everyone. Today isn't too happy here, our desktop died. We're using the laptop now. We have to buy a new harddrive and try to have as much information from our old harddrive extracted. Luckily Darren has a guy at work who said he'd try to get the information for us, but Darren has to put in the new harddrive and re-install all the software we had. I refused, and said I'd pay someone at Best Buy to do it. So, Darren is going to try to do it, and will be cursing at the computer this weekend for sure. Luckily we have the laptop. We're not cut off at all, just slightly annoyed the desktop died. Hopefully we can get it up and running again by the weekend. If it's not one thing it's another thing here lately. First me, and it's still on-going. Darren is sick, and then has a reaction to antibiotics, Brandon gets sick, Darren takes a new job which might relocate us to Salt Lake City, computer dies, when will it end. Though relocating to Salt Lake City might not be too bad. So, we'll see what happens. I can't wait for this vacation to leave all this behind.

:disrocks: Mucho pixie dust going out to you Lori!!

I have been reading the board which is live from the cruise. The boat is supposed to start through the Canal early tomorrow. I am glad that I will be working from home and so can see some of it. Unfortuneately we are driving to Williamsburg in the afternoon to attend a wedding tomorrow so I will miss some of it. The live web site has links to webcams of the canal. Pretty cool!

They seem to be having a great time despite the tragedy but I am sure the Boarder would not have wanted anything else! I think one of our toasts should be to them!!!
