July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

After looking into things and seeing that you can pretty much use any hotel for day use if you eat and drink there, I think the DCL excursion is a bit steep--Cabo Beach Break Prices: $39.00 (ages 10 & up), $22.00 (ages 3 - 9). That includes 2 drinks and chips and salsa. I think we'll do much better on our own. I could buy a lot of food and drinks for that much! So, if everyone thinks this looks good, lets see who is going to join us.

Karen...I think the Melia looks the best...we can use their pool as well as the beach (I hope!). And they have an area roped off from vendors. I e-mailed them a week or so ago and haven't heard back...we had also been considering this before the group beach thing came up! Swim-up bar and really nice facilities, I think. I just wish we could confirm something with them before we arrive!

That's why we're doing our own thing in PV too. After looking at all of the excursions, my kids decided what they wanted to do was the Paradise Village Resort. Then I found that we could basically do the same thing by making a 5 minute walk from the ship to the Krystal Vallarta.

Well I have been reading all the traffice on the Cabo Beach excursion. All the areas seem to be in easy reach of the boat. Since our "horse" excurision is on the far end of Medano Beach I figure we can meet up with you all whereever you decide. As for me - Margarita's and nachos sound great! :drinking:

As for the party atmosphere -- I don't think we will be able to avoid the tourist traps. I know that Dylan (he may be 10 going on 11 but the hormones are starting to rage) is hoping to catch some "clothing" optional bathing on the beach like he witnessed on St. Martin's. He is afraid of beaches because of "Jaw's" (the kid in him) but likes to see girls in bikinis or less (the almost "man"???). Cabo was the only place that I could get him near the water! and that was because of the horses! and possible girl sightings! He will enjoy a Mexican fiesta atmosphere.

Lori -- hope to hear how things are going with you! I just found out this morning the wife of the contractor who is doing my basement had 3 strokes this week. She too is home so hopefully that is a good sign. She is grandmother so quite a bit older than you, but it is still a scary thing!

Weather here has been on/off all weekend! :umbrella: Hope you all enjoyed yours!!

Sheryl

Hello. I am so happy I found you. We made our reservation last thursday, and while searching the web for information about the cruise I found this forum and read almost all of it. This is our first cruise and we are so excited!!! We are a family of 5. Our kids are 7, 5 and 1. We are celebrating our 12 year anniversary on the ship. How wonderfull that you are all so good friends. I have so many questions, that I don't know where to start.

I too would like to welcome you.

Welcome to our happy race to 90.

And as far as quetions go start at the beginning and ask as many as you want and if we don't know the answer we shall endevor to find it.

Once again welcome

Welcome Beba! Now I have a question for you. I thought this cruise was sold out. Have you been trying to book this cruise and now that final payments are due, they have cancellations? This should be a great cruise.

For all you veteran 7-day DCL cruisers. Do we go to 2 restaurants 2 times, then 1 restaurant 3 times? Also, I remember that someone said formal night is the same night for everyone. Does that mean that we could possibly have formal night in Parrot Cay (is that what it's called?).

I know two families from the group that I am traveling with opted out of the cruise. That free'd up two staterooms. There are always cancellations when it gets close to final payment!

Regarding the dining rotation, your assumption is correct. BUT don't forget about Palo's !

Karen...I'm not a veteram 7-day DCL cruiser, but that's the way I understand it. Hence the "obsession" with dining rotation!

Yes, you are correct, someone wil end up with Formal Night in Parrot Cay. We had our formal night on our last cruise in Animator's, so it didn't matter. since we're probably not doing formal night, might go to Palo's that night, I'll volunteer for a parrot cay formal night. You'll eat at 2 restaurants twice and the first one, three times. So, we had PLA the last time, and ate in Parott Cay three times....

by the way, only 11 more pages till 90!!! With more than 2 months to go, I think we're going to make it soon!!! I'm glad my stroke scare had beefed up these pages!!!! Hopefully, I"ll feel better soon.... remember caps lock is on the left side of the keyboard!! If not, I'll be easy to spot. darren said i act like a 1972 Chevette which needs a left side alignment... I'll be the one not drunk and walking into the walls!!

Lori, aren't you sweet suffering for our cause. You didn't have to go to that extreme, though. I would have bought you a drink--we all just want you well. :flower:

Kim, I told Megan that she can play on the beach with Alexis. She is quite excited. Actually, I said, you girls can play at the beach together. She gave me a funny look because she thought I was calling her brother a girl :rotfl: . Gotta run and make a Starbucks run for friends volunteering at the school today.

Karen

Welcome aboard Beba! :teeth:

Lori, glad to see you're feeling better! I won't notice your wall-fetish if you won't notice my attempt to tan my legs (pesky burns are slowly healing!).

Another big WELCOME Beba :cheer2:

You'll have to give us the usual info like names and ages of the kids and jump in with both feet when you are ready.

A friend, who is sailing 6/28, asked me today if I was going to get dolphin ressies. :rotfl2: She didn't believe me when I told her it sold out in less than an hour. I think she thought she could call in May. I think she already told her girls :sad2: Do you think Disney wil open up any more spots? Or maybe the dolphin place would hold spots for non-Disney guests?

I really don't know how we got a place, but I think it was meant to be. Maybe someone cancelled one minute before I called and we were lucky to get the room.

We are from Tijuana, my husband is Juan Jose and is 37, my name is Gloria but everyone calls me Beba, and I am 34. My children's names are Juan Jose, also, and he is 7, then Juan Andres is 5 and Maria Alejandra is 1 year old.

Thank you for your welcomes.
