Lori - I'm so sorry to hear you are in the hospital. I'm sending a truckload of pixie dust your way!!!!

Cheri - Krystal (DD16) was in the Winter Guard competition. This was the Southern CA finals. We won the gold in our division last year which automatically moved us up a division and then we lost our instructor. So this year we struggled and didn't place very well at any of our competitions. But our kids came through in the end and got 4th place out of 17 in our group! They passed up most of the guards that had beat them this year and actually beat their score from last year. So it was a great way to end the season!

Now for my exciting news of the day - I won the Disneyland AP contest and get to go to DL on May 4th when it's closed to the public!!! I never win anything so this is a huge shock. I only get two tickets so now I have to decide who to take with me. Of course the girls both want to go but I can only take one!!! Maybe I will just go by myself.

Lori...so sorry to hear you are in the hospital! I had a mini-stroke when I was in college...lost feeling on the left side of my body...only for about an hour. It was REALLY scary even after everything returned to normal. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We would like to do the Beach Break. Does anyone know if there is room in that excursion?

Did everyone get a confirmation for their excursion? I haven't gotten one yet and am a bit concerned. I think they gave me a reservation number, though.

I am very happy about the dress situation. Some friends came over and gave me the thumbs up on my dress for formal night. Another friend came over and let me try on a dress she wore for a cruise she went on. It is really beautiful and will work for either formal or semi-formal, so I'm set for both nights. So, that leaves 5 nights!

I just called DCL to ask about the Cabo Beach Break excursion. They couldn't tell me if it was full...they said that each person has to call and give their reservation # and then they could tell you if there is space. He said that he thinks there SHOULD be room though as there are lots of spaces for the beach excursions.

As for any conflicts with other excursions, I know the Cabo Beach Break excursion meets at 8:05 am and lasts 4-4.5 hours (according to DCL site), so it WOULD probably conflict if you have another Cabo excursion booked. There is an option to walk back to the tender pier on your own through town, so I think it could last longer if we wanted to stay.

Yuck! I don't want to get up that early. Can you hear me whining? I know my kids and they will want to stay up late in the clubs and getting them dressed, fed and out the door might be more trouble than it's worth. Cheri, did you say that Chris might be able to find a hotel to accomodate us as long as we eat and drink there? If everyone else is fine with the time, then that is fine. If not, maybe we can find something else.

Cabo Beach Day: I was figuring that the Cabo day would be an early one...especially since we're only there until 3:30...so I'm OK with the time.

I read on another thread about kids bringing postcards from where they live to swap with new friends they meet on the cruise. They would exchange postcards with name, address, phone, e-mail info (whatever they wanted to share) so that they could continue to communicate with their new cruise friends after the cruise. What do you guys think of the idea?

I think that's a great idea!!

About Cabo - I vote for doing it on our own. I read a cruise review on Cruise Critic where the people went to a restaurant on the main beach in Cabo called the Mango Deck. They are right on the beach and have chairs where you can hang out and order drinks. You can take the water taxi from where the ship docs and they will drop you off right in front of this place. I'll try and find the review and post a link.

Gosh, i just logged on and read the news. Lori, please, please get better soon! Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Darren, and the kids. Oh, and mountains of pixie dust as well. When you get a chance to do an illegal post, let us know how you're doing.

It seems Soccermom opined that I have some sort of influence down in Mexico to arrange parties and such onshore. Though I'm quite sure about my abilities to arrange the on-board party, I don't know about this. I'll give it a shot, though.

I'd also like to vote on doing Cabo on our own. We'll have a couple of groups that will go before us & can get the lowdown on where is good beach terratory, and I suppose I shouldn't, but I do object to having to pay $80 for two of us to have a taxi ride & the right to use a pool for the day... It just seems so out of line with the prices down there.

WEST COAST MEET & GREET 2 A couple have expressed interest in joining us at San Pedro to send of the Magic on May 28, followed by a maragrita or dinner at Acapulco next door. So far I have on the interest list: Grumpymom1 & family, Soccermom & family, anyone else?

The ship sails at 5pm. We could meet around 4pm. Have our own little sailway party.

Saw on a thread the may cruises are starting to get their documents.
