July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

Mommykeg :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: . I hope you end up going. I know it will be hot, but hopefully the breeze from the water will help. We are fairly used to the hot weather here, so that also helps. It seems like everyone who has gone on Randi's Happy Horses has had fun (try saying that 3 times fast).

As for tuxes, you're absolutely right. Todd will wear his for a long time, but Ryan is growing so fast he'll be able to wear it for Christmas and maybe Easter and that's all. I couldn't believe he got a sportsjacket in the men's section! He is now an inch taller than me and I'm 5'5", and he's just 12!

Kim - as you know, we cancelled Randi's because I didn't think I'd be up to it by sailing time, and with 3 weeks to go, looks like a good move on my part. By the way, one of the reasons we cancelled was because it was really only me and Julianna who we thought would have a GREAT time. Darren was just going to appease me, and I hoped Brandon would enjoy it. With me not being able to ride, I could have always gone as an observer and not riden, but Darren really didn't want to go, you get the idea..... So, we cancelled and are now doing the Mazatalan Beach Escape. I wanted to do the Stone Island Adventure, but that one is booked... So, if you do decide to cancel, we'll be on that excursion...

Lori...I booked the Mazatlan Beach Escape at the 90 day mark as a back-up in case Randi's didn't work out for us. So, if we decide to go that way, we're all set. I've been reading a lot about the El Cid hotel as well, though, and am considering doing that on our own. They have waterslides, waterfalls, and several HUGE pools. We would just have to take a cab there on our own. I've read some good reviews about it. I don't think the pools are quite as nice at the hotel where they do the DCL excursion, and it would be a lot cheaper to do on our own. But it's Mexico and I worry a little about not being on a DCL sponsored excursion! Just some thoughts...still trying to think it through. It's just like me to plan, plan, plan...and then re-plan! :confused3

Karen...Alexis sent Megan an e-mail last night. Hope she got it!

Cheri...Alexis sent Cassie an e-mail last night. Hope she got it!

Kim :flower:

Kim, we changed our email address a while back. I thought I sent you my updated address. Sorry. Anyway, Megan is going to email Alexis right now so you'll have our email address.

Karen

Wow. The El Cid sounds wonderful. It almost makes me want to re-think the horseback riding we have scheduled (though with Mike's on Stone Island, not Randi's).

Help, I can't remember! I'll be renting a tux for Matt. I've tried DCL's website to make the reservations, but can't find anything. Are these ressies made through a separate company? And will we get the info with our docs?

Craig, do you have time to add Dirty Tom Kidd and Dirty Morgan Flint? Two are there at Cafe Express, but not the other two. Thanks!

I don't know if the info will come with our docs...it was something like formal cruise wear.com, I think. You can do a search on the boards, that's how I found it one time. I went to write this and knew the web site and then it left me. I guess 5 hours in the sun at ds school fried my brain!

I found the shirts to be very 'true to size'. I have a medium and thought about getting a small. Glad I didn't! I won't dry my medium.

Welcome aboard Linda and Katy and Sarah!! Nice to meet ya'll. Sarah, my son Matt is 15. We have lots of teens traveling too. I'll offer his e-mail through a PM if you'd like?

It's only 4 more weeks!! Where are my docs?! Gimme, gimme, gimme! :bitelip:  :bitelip:

By the way, I found out from a friend of mine who has a house in Puerto Vallerta (which he calls "PV") that the city sends up fireworks at night. We don't leave until 9:30, so we should see them on our way out of the city.

Just thought you all would like to know.

Sara

Kim, if you bail on Randi's, let us know. I think Cassie is only looking forward to riding because her new friends will be there.

I've been looking over the Navigators and am no longer sure I'm going to push to get Cassie into the 8-9 group. Although the activities aren't described that well, I worry about her being able to keep up with the other kids. This group seems to have more "active" things scheduled than the 5-7 group which has been more "artsy". The sit and color stuff isn't Cassie's style, but I worry about her trying to keep up with older girls. Opinions? :confused3 Do we have any other 7 year old girls ? I have lost track.

Craig, I am still trying to get the male pirates to find their swashbuckling monikers. Cassie's is Captain Charity Kidd.

Cheri...I think Lori's (jel0511) DD is 7, according to Chris' spreadsheet. They will probably both be in the club. That would leave Alexis and the two Megans (hayesktrm and offwego) in the lab. I can understand your concern about her trying to keep up with the older girls. I'll let you know when we've made a final decision about Randi's.

Hey guys - don't bail on me on the horseback riding! :sad1: We're definitely still doing it - been looking forward to it for months. But I can understand how those of you with younger kids may want to consider other options.

Any docs yet? Krystal said the UPS truck stopped at the house across the street today but didn't bring us anything.

Don't the docs come by Fedex? Is a signature necessary?

Yep, Julianna is 7 and will be going to the club. She was in the club in November and LOVED IT, and I did consider moving her up, but after reading the activities, they do seem a bit over her head, so she'll be in the 5 - 7 group. Brandon will be with Hunter in 3 - 4 so hopefully they'll have some pals. Cheri - I hope Cassie goes to the club so Julianna will have someone to pal around with.

Hi Lori,

If Juliana doesn't mind younger kids, DD Georgia (5 1/2) will also be in the 5-7 group.

She doesn't mind!!! She'd love to play with Georgia!

When I called DCL the other day to see if they could send my docs to my work address instead of home because I was concerned with not being home to sign for them, the lady said that the docs are shipped via UPS and do not need a signature.

We'll see...

Susie
