Welcome, Dawn.
Our DS, Timmy, is 12, so it might be a good idea to hook them up before the cruise!!

Did all you locals feel our wake up call this morning. I was at work and left real quick.

Have a nice weekend.

Hi All,

This morning I called DCL to see if I could have my documents sent to my work address instead of home. The lady put me on hold and came back and said it was too late. She said that the documents have already been printed and are ready to be sent out!!!!! We all should be receiving them soon...

:scared1: as long as I love I will never get used to hearing the earth quake! :scared1:

on a brighter note: :dancer: DOC DANCE!!!! YEAH!!!!! they are on their way!! whoo-hoo!!

I finally found something to wear for formal night today! :banana: We decided NOT to do tuxes...the guys will just wear their navy blazer, dress khakis, and dress shirt with tie for both formal and semi-formal nights. They'll wear a different tie each time. I have both of my dresses (a navy one for formal night and a red one for semi-formal), but still need one more for Alexis. Everyone else is pretty much done, but I still need some shorts, shirts, and another bathing suit for myself. Now as soon as I get rid of my soon-to-be second graders on Thursday, I can get on with the shopping! :banana: It's almost July!!! :cool1:

OK, the Offwego crew has finally completed their pirate pronouncement protocol:
Buzz = Capt John Rackham
Lola = Capt Anne Cash
Megan = Iron Morgan Flint
Jay = Iron Sam Bonney
2 captains on one boat....holy cow! Sure hope the rum will last! :rolleyes1

HAYESKTRM: our kids are thrilled at the very close parallel to your young pirates' names! Megan is looking forward to meeting Megan.

No docs in sight yet, but we're keepin a mate in the crow's nest on watch.

Prepare to be Boarded!!
Arrrrrrrrrr!

How does one get a pirate name?

Linda,
Here is the Powerful Pirate Pronouncement Place, compliments of Scouter-Dad, a.k.a. Craig, a.k.a. Mad Marty Read (I think):

Good luck with your names, and be sure to let the crew know what we be callin' ya!

In other news, I actually had a dream last night that a little tin box showed up on our front porch, and inside were our CRUISE DOCS. Weird, huh?

Arr! Mad Dog Flint be thanking ye for yer pirate name link!

Offwego--that is strange the similarities of our kids' pirate names. They are going to have so much fun together.

Mommykeg--we went shopping for the boys yesterday, too. Wow, Megan and I were a bargain compared to them. Todd bought a new suit, 2 new shirts, 2 new ties, a new belt, and a new pair of shoes. We bought Ryan a sportsjacket, a new shirt, slacks, and a new belt. Grand total--over $900! Now that hurts. Luckily the cruise (including all spending money on board) is already paid for. I can't wait to get pictures of us all dressed up. We don't have a formal picture so this is a great opportunity.

You all will probably get your docs before me because I am going through a travel agent :sad2: .

I can't believe it's almost here!

Karen...I guess it would have been cheaper to rent tuxes!! LOL!! :rotfl2:
Well, at least they can wear them again, right?

How are the horseback riding lessons going for Megan? We are actually reconsidering Randi's. :guilty: We aren't going to cancel yet, but we're thinking that Hunter might not want to do it, Danny has never really wanted to do it (but he's willing if we all want to do it!), and it's going to be really HOT! We're considering a beach/resort option instead, but we're still thinking about it. I'd miss riding with all the DISers, but we want everyone in the family to be happy. We'll see....

Only 3 more days of school left! :banana: :banana: :banana:

Sara and others with small children,

Is your daughter potty trained? My son, as you may recall, will be 21 months on the cruise. Assuming that I won't get some amazing Potty miracle, I have a question about diapers! We are going to be at in California for a week, then on the boat for a week. 2 weeks, 14 days, 5-6 diapers a day! Plus swim diapers! I'm going to need a whole box of diapers! Does anyone know if I can send diapers (or basically ship a box) ahead? We are flying from Chicago, and my understanding is that the airlines are really enforcing the luggage weight rules! And I already know I will be over packing, it's what I do! Any thoughts?

Appreciated!!

Katy - I've traveled frequently with my kids, though luckily they are out of the diaper stage. My first question, are you renting a car in CA? If you are, of course the easiest answer is to pick up some when you're there. If that is not an option, I'd pack that box with you. Just take them out of the box to save weight, or just send the box through with luggage, with all your information written on it. If you pack them, we usually took an entire suitcase filled with diapers, wipes, etc along with usually toys. The extra room at the end of the trip is usually welcome with all the things you'll pick up. Remember each passenger is entitled to two checked bags, and if you've bought your baby a seat, that's two more bags!!! Since we've always bought the seat, that got us 8 bags (4 of us), so bringing that bag of diapers wasn't a problem. You're other option is to send the diapers to the resort you're staying at in CA, but you'd still have to figure out how to get them on-board. I'd either pick-up in CA or bring the extra bag.

Lori,

We aren't renting a car. At least not for the entire time. We may have to rent one occasionally, to go to other attractions, if there isn't some sort of shuttle transportation. I didn't really think about the "getting them on the boat" aspect! I'll probably end up packing them. It just seems like wasted space, but you're right about using the space to bring things back! There are 18 people in my family going on this trip, 17 with tickets. If we end up with 34 bags, we're really in trouble!!

Thanks for the input!

My DD is long out of diapers, but a friend I am traveling with is in the same boat as you are (no pun intended). Her plan is to pack enough for the first few days and then restock at the PV Walmart which is very close to where the ship docks. HTH.

Katy,

Yes, Lexi's still in Diapers. We're just packing them in our bags for the 7 days of the cruise. Since we're staying in Anaheim the next week, we'll either leave extra diapers in our car or pick some up at the WalMart near DL. Also, we're allowed 6 bags + carry on for the ship, and I expect to be able to pack pretty light (and/or use big bags).

If I were you, I'd pack one week's worth & pick some up locally one of those times you rent a car.

Sara
