OK, so i just bought 3 - 3 piece packing cube sets (sml, med, lg), a 3 piece slim set, and a 15" eagle creek folder. $130 seemed reasonable! 10% off and free shipping!! I know that won't be enough for 3 people for 3 weeks, but it is a start. Once they arrive and I give them a little test pack, I can determine how many more we need. The DH and I have birthdays in May so we can put them on our list :)

Our luggage set consists of...
22" upright garment bag (carry-on)
25" wheeled wardrobe...total monster bag!!!
27" expandable upright (with a garment sleeve) I thought this was big...
29" expandable upright (with a garment sleeve) this one is a monster!!!!

I am hoping that with efficient use of the cubes and the small folder (use for DH's formal and semi formal shirts) and the 2 garment sleeves for dresses and slacks, and the upright garment bag for the suit, I can leave the wheeled wardrobe home when we do the Baltic and London pre-cruise. I will have to do laundry 3 times i think instead of twice, but if it means i can bring one less suitcase...worth it.

I read Tammy's article, too. She can pack for me anytime! We have one eagle creek bag. DH uses it for business trips. It's wonderful. We have such a mishmash of luggage. I can't imagine travelling with a matching set.
I am tempted to try those cubes..I'd love to be more organized. ( I can dream:cloud9:)

I saw the thread too, and ordered 2 3 piece set to see how they work. I didn't get the folder yet. Let me know how the slim one works. I was hesitant. They did have the combo set with those. E Bags is part of the Upromise network so I got an additional 7% to go back into upromise acct. I am curious about the folder as well.

wanted to show this off - I worked on it yesterday. It's my little travel book. There are 3 sections, I didn't take pix of the dividers but they are for London, the cruise & Dover. On the first page I have the activities planned for the different days (That I know of already - hopefully the Key Ceremony tix will come & I can work out the rest of the things we want to do in London)
I also have listed on my cruise section the meet & brunch - otherwise I know I'd forget. The nice thing is the dividers have pockets so I can put tickets in them.

hopefully this works!

I love it. I wish I was that crafty. I just have a binder right now with dividers in it.

I have a binder with sections. One section for air, one for land/cruise and one for excursions and one for pending. It is really full of stuff and I think I need to clean it up.

Bought luggage today at Sam's Club. Samsonite 4 piece RED. Very large 29" bag that rolls every which way. A smaller 27", a duffel and a carry on. It was the last one and was only $119 instead of $140!

Had a phone message from the cruise yesterday asking if we need transfers from London to Dover. They must not be selling well. I thought they were only for people who booked the hotels in London with them?

Oh and I had charged the Ice Bar in Stockholm a couple weeks back and the bill came yesterday. I was only charged $4.71 or something like that for two people. This can't be right, I just know I will be getting another bill soon!

Two months from tomorrow we will be leaving for Paris! :woohoo:

ok - i just had a panic attack when i read the 2months part:scared1:

DCL called our TA too about transfers - didn't know they cared:confused3

anyone looking for a short tour in Copenhagan - copenhagenwalks.com - great reviews in the THREE guide books I have - yes, just on Denmark:rolleyes1

I think this was discussed before, but are most of you going with the oyster card or the Londonpass or none of the above? We'll be on the London Eye July 4 around 9-9:30PM - anyone else?

I received an email from DU asking about transfers. I did enquire, but they are only for folks at DCL hotels, so I'm not sure why they bothered emailing. Surely they know I don't have a hotel booked!

Anyone planning on the Leeds debarkation excursion? I keep asking this in hopes someone else is planning on it, but to date, no bites. I will have to have a back up plan as I have a feeling its not going to happen!

Your only really need an Oyster card if you live and work in London. They have to be topped up regularly and you have to apply for them. What I think you'll need is a Travelcard, these can be bought at any underground station and are valid on busses and tubes. You can get a single day one and a seven day one. There might be some just for three days, I know there used to be. We go to London almost every year and we only ever buy travelcards. Here's a link to the official London Underground site which can explain things.

We got a phone call from them last week, asking how we were getting to Dover and where we were staying when we got there. Thought it rather odd as the only thing we've booked through them is the cruise and everthing else we've booked on our own. Seeing as we live in the UK as well, I don't know why they phoned us.

I had the transfer call, too. I'd rather have the upgrade call.
We are going to Leeds on disembarkation day but not with Disney. Our flight is that night and it seemed like a better way to spend the day than Heathrow!

We did buy the 7 day travel cards. There is no longer an option for 3.

We have the DCL transfers from London but are NOT staying at a DCL hotel-we have to get to a DCL hotel to catch the transfer. They just needed to know which hotel we planned to leave from.

binders & spreadsheets work - my problem is I just have lists all over so I needed something pretty to put them in ;)

Here's my YIPEE for the day - our Ceremony of the Keys ticket came - it's for July 2nd - I really couldn't believe it showed up so quickly!

I finally feel things are falling into place - of course dh always breaks that mood by asking 'what about Dover - where are we going to stay'

Congrats on getting your Tickets!:cheer2: I liked the looks of your organizer. Very nice. I am not that talented. :rolleyes1

Some info for those flying on American Airlines:

If you booked your flights before Sept 14, 2009, you get to check 2, yes TWO, bags for free....

Also one carry on and one personal item.....
Yahoo, that's me!!!:woohoo::cool1::thumbsup2:banana::worship::yay:

(this is for travel from the USA to Europe and for Europe to the USA. NO travel within Europe)

Here is the baggage info for those who are flying on Virgin Atlantic...

economy: 1 checked bag at 50 pounds
premium economy: 2 checked bags at 50 pounds
upper class: 3 checked bags at 70 pounds

Now for the beautiful part...if you booked prior to November 25, 2009 and are flying premium economy...2 checked bags at 70 pounds rather than 50. :cool1:

We can bring 2 bags each. We booked on American last August and DH is a gold Aadvantage guy. I guess my point is I don't want to bring so much stuff. We brought lots of stuff on the TA in 2007. It was a pain moving it around and keeping track of it. I hope we can fit everything in one decent sized bag each.(plus a carry on) I plan on packing an empty flat bag in one of our suitcases in case we buy more stuff..

Oh- guess what I found while internet snooping tonight? They have partially released the schedule for the Copenhagen Jazz festival.:hippie: We dock there on July 9 and here is the schedule for that day
http://www.jazz.dk/en/copenhagen-jazz-festival/event?eventId=2136

There is a jazz for kids performance at 10:00am- that might be fun.
