July 5, 2011 - Mickey's WONDERful Alaskan Adventure

Hi all hope everyones 4th of july weekend is starting off good.

I just emailed DCL about boarding times with an earlier departure from port. I had to question it as i am trying to figure what meals we will need to get before hand and after. will be booking our hotel and airline in the next couple of weeks :cool1::banana: we are opting to just fly into vancouver the nite before and spending the one nite there before boarding the ship. but anyways the info below is their reply ...:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I am happy to assist you with information about your embarkation day in
Vancouver.

Disney Cruise Line representatives and porters will be at the terminal
to meet and greet Guests, assist with their luggage, and check-in from
10:00am to 2:30pm. Guests pass through security check point with x-ray
as they enter the building.

*Guests are greeted by a Disney Cruise Line representative and directed
to one of the appropriate check-in queue.
*Embarkation begins at approximately 1:00pm
*Guests will board the ship on Deck 3
*While guests are waiting to embark the ship, they can take advantage of
character photo opportunities, booking port adventures and pre-register
children into Youth Activities.
*Guests pass through security check point with x-ray prior to boarding
*All Guests must board the ship no later than 3:00pm.

Once on the ship, Parrot Cay will be offering a fabulous buffet until
approximately 2:30pm. The Beach Blanket Buffet will also be offering a
buffet until approximately 3:30pm.

All Guests must be onboard for the mandatory lifeboat drill at a time
that is yet to be determined, followed by the lively sailaway party. Be
sure to listen for the ship's unique horn announcing the beginning of
your cruise!

Thanks Tracy!! I'm really excited to see something in print about our cruise :goodvibes

getting close to the one year mark now :cool1::thumbsup2:goodvibes

was surprised they answered me so quickly and even had any information available. although i will say its kind of conflicting as the itinerary says 3pm departure and they said all board by 3pm and safety drill time is unknown yet. :confused3

will be interesting to see how things come about as we get closer to the new year.

we are taking dd to renew her passport next week before the prices go up. kind of bites hers expires after the cruise but not afer the required time frame they want of 6 months.

on a side note: anyone else have a cricut on here? i just got mine recently and have been curious what all kinds of things i can do with it without having to purchase a bunch of stuff.

I have a Cricut and every Disney cartridge (except Hannah Montana) available. Any specific questions? I use mine for scrapbooking.

Hi everyone,

We're on this cruise also! We're so excited to go to Alaska on DCL and love that the Wonder will be on the West Coast. This will be our sixth Disney Cruise (yay! - we made Gold level for Castaway Club). Our group is:

Meg, Joe, Jack (15), Maddie (13), and Charlotte (10). We're waiting to hear if an Aunt and Uncle will join us as well.

We've booked 3 nights before the cruise at the Fairmont Waterfront for some extra time in Vancouver.

Not sure yet if we'll be doing the FE exchange.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone on this thread. I've been busy buying into the new Aulani resort in Hawaii. Now that that's done, I can focus on Alaska!

not yet i don't :) i have almost all of them now..the toy story one is the one i don't have. do you have the gypsy or any of the pc software? I bought the gypsy as i just didnt have alot of time to go thru everything standing at the machine. i do love it though i can take it to work or my appointments and work on things. i just got the sure cuts alot software as dh wants to import some images hes got for a business to cut out of vinyl but havent played much with that yet. odd thing is even though it is a machine based for scrapbooking i have yet to do anything for scrapbooking with it  i just learned it cuts fabric and my mind is going into creative mode.

ok maybe i do have a question can i turn things into stickers? how would i do that? was thinking of creating some stickers for dd activity book i am creating for her.

A little late to the party as I've been packing for our cruise that leaves this weekend.

I have the cricut and love it! I mostly use it for scrapbook pages but have also used it for some displays at both my work and Mark's. I'm way behind on my scrapbook pages. I'll have to fix that when I get back from the cruise.

As for stickers if you get a Xyron with the repositionable glue you could use that as stickers. In fact the small one I have is called a sticker maker.

hmmm i am sooo jealous.. can i hide in your suticase pleaseeee? have a good trip and can't wait to here how the wedding and all goes.

hmm ok will have to check into that a little more. I am creating some stuff to go with my FE on the cricut now.. just trying to figure out what the best way to go about it is.. I did decide i was going to make some extra FE bags to give to out dining room servers and room hostess along with their tip.

on a side note..i now have two connecting rooms book at the pan pacific hotel with a harbor view. I got the family package so dd will get milk and cookies and then we get an in room movie and popcorn and pop and then the buffet breakfast. we decided we arent worried about getting down to check in at the opening and will just get around casually and since we check out by noon we can go check in then. looking forward to looking out the hotel window to see the harbor and possibly the ship below :goodvibes :thumbsup2

will be able to book our airline tickets in a few weeks :cool1: so all the main stuff will be booked and all we have to do then is concentrate on paying it all off :rotfl2: and packing.

welcome to the group..there is a thread on the topic but basicly it is similar to a secret santa. You hang a Fish Extender ( a bag or shoe pouch style hanger) on the fish that is just outside of your stateroom door. then those that are participating will drop off a "gift" in your FE at some point on the crusie and vice versus.. there is a thread dedicated to this topic that can probably better explain this then me.

Hi all,

my best friend just got back from alasaka this past friday. they cruised to the same ports and pretty close to the same days as ours will be sailing just different cruise line. i haven't got to talk to her in detail yet but she did make comment to make sure we briing rain gear, winter coats and gloves, and very good walking shoes. and said it was absolutely beautiful there at this time of year .:thumbsup2 :lovestruc i will pass along any other info she gives me after i get a chance to talk to her more and see her pictures :cool1: :goodvibes

Tracy,

Thank you. I searched for "fish extender" and found several useful threads.

Carrie

welcome.. if you do decide to do the FE just let me know and i will add you to the list. i would also need your stateroom number as well.

has anyone else noticed that the tickers that are showing months instead of the 1 year left seem to be like alot less waiting time and more real now? :lmao: might be just me being highly ready to cruise again already too.

Tracy,
could you add us to the FE list? We're in cabins 5126 and 5127 (across the hall). We're going to use just one FE on cabin 5126. There are 5 of us: Meg, Joe, Jack (15), Maddie (13), and Charlotte (10).

thanks!
Meg

Greetings from the Disney Wonder! We are docked in Nassau today and thought I would check in real quickly.

We were up in the new Outlook Cafe yesterday for a wedding reception and it looks like a great place to enjoy the Alaska scenery.

Meg I see you have Aulani in your signature. We just added on there while on the cruise!
