July 5, 2011 - Mickey's WONDERful Alaskan Adventure

Hi
We have 4 generations booked on this cruise. We are very excited. My 10 year old son was wondering if anyone here knows if they will let him into the 11 year old group.
Thanks

They probably will if he is close to his 11th birthday and if he has an older sibling/family member/friend in the group and if space allows. I have seen other people mention this and it is just up to the discretion of the crew member that you talk to and they do definitely take into account how close they are to their next birthday.

We sail in 14 weeks!

Sorry this is late. We were on vacation last week and I'm still catching up on things at work and home. :)

I'm enjoying reading about everyone's plans. I am traveling with my husband, our two sons (8 & 10) my Mom and my Grandmother. I'm not much of a chatter, but I'll be reading along quietly. My 10 year old son was wondering if there are any other kids reading this thread. if so please write back.

Congrats on booking your excursions. Sounds like you have some fun ones.

As for Hawaii while it sounds wonderful there just is no way we could afford that many days off in a row or the price. If we didn't already have plans for next year I'd love to try one of the new Canadian cruises.

So many cruises so little time ( and money )~ I would like to cruise on the Dream....sigh. :goodvibes

I just booked the Hawaii cruise today--- do not know if we will be able to keep it, but we will really be pushing for it. I want to be able to take my family on the Dream, but I don't think that will be able to happen this year or not.

We still have no clue on excursions, neither does our huge group. We better get deciding.....

Look at your bad self with a new logo in your signature too! I think it's wonderful that you've booked the Hawaii cruise. You'll have to report back so I can live vicariously through you. :thumbsup2

I just booked NY today!!!!
:cool1:
Is our cruise completly sold out, I had a friend that was thinking about joining us, the Disney cruise website is not showing our July 5th date?

Does anyone know if we have to prepay for our excursions? I just reserved ours and confirmed them, but it doesn't ask for payment. Is this all I have to do right now? I am afraid of logging out and losing them. Seems strange to not even need a deposit....

Just noticed that it says the shore excursions are charged to your stateroom. Guess it helps to read all of the not-so-fine print!

We just booked the following excursions:

Day 4 - Skagway - Mushers Camp and Sled Dog Experience 11:45 - 3:15
Day 5 - Juneau - Whale Watching and Wildlife Quest 12:00 - 4:30
Day 6 - Ketchikan - Disney Exclusive The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Enhanced Show 4:30 - 6:30

We are also interested in a gold panning tour maybe in Juneau however the timing wouldn't work for both excursions booking with Disney (only 45 minutes apart and with two young boys that is not a good idea!) We might look into booking the gold panning on our own.

My husband and I sailed to Alaska for our honeymoon in 2001. It is fun to see how our excursion choices have changed based on having two young boys!

Our family will be sailing on the Dream in two weeks. After that I hope to spend more time on this thread. Thanks so much to everyone who has posted info about Vancouver and all of the ports! Hope to catch up with all of you more in the coming months leading up to our cruise!

We've changed our excursions plans a few times already. There are just so many good choices. But I think we have it now. looks like we'll be joining tksbaskets and Nascar's families as well!

Skagway - Takshanuk Mountain Trail 4x4
Juneau - Mendenhall Glacier Adventure Hike
Ketchikan - Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour

Did anyone else notice that the Bering Sea Tour in Ketchikan ends at 7:45pm, but the all aboard time is 7:30? I'm assuming that since we booked through Disney that we'll be OK.
