To see & do it all and reride favorite rides or would we need another nite onsite? We all like rides like space & splash mountain and BTMRR not much more than that in the thrill ride dept so i'm not sure how many rides in IOA we would want to ride.

Does anyone know what the hours will be that weekend?

ETA: We are not early morning people. We like to stay up late and sleep in. So we would not be to the parks when they first open. At disney we get to the parks around 12noon and stay till they close, with EMH it puts us getting out of the parks late in the summer.

The parks are pretty much packed on July 4th weekend. If you are not morning people, you may want to add another day.The park is not too full up top about 11:00, but after that it's VERY crowded.
Do you want to see all the shows?
IOA has great rides. You don't have to be a "thrill ride" lover to enjoy them.

Thank You for the info. We do like to see the shows. Last time we were at universal there was only one park and just DH and I, this time two of our GKids will be with us 13yrs and 9yrs. They have both been to disney but not universal. We will be staying at portofino.

I found the park hours on the universal site. It says they are open untill 10pm on the 4th of july weekend, that seems early for such a busy time. Do the parks ever extend the hrs if they are super busy like disney sometimes does?

Not really. At 10pm, there is a fireworks show, and then everyone files out. Your plan will work, and you'll get to see just about everything.
Rush hour at the parks is between 11am and 4pm. It is also hot during this time. Try to do indoor attractions so you don't melt. You can get a lot done in a few hours. The attractions at IOA don't have long preshows like at Disney. So you can get on the ride in 10-20 minutes, versus some of the attractions at Disney which can take 45 minutes with all the preshows.

During this time the parks will be open from 9:00- 10:00. We will be there too, and maybe we'll see you. We're staying at the RPR July 4-9.
