July 4th Weekend

Any idea why July 4th and 8th (Sunday) would be predicted to be less busy than weekdays around those dates according to a popular crowd calendar? I assumed that the 9th (Monday) would be least busy but it's predicted to be more busy.

Alot of people assume the holidays will be super busy & avoid the parks accordingly, but it’s probably more likely little things. Like blocking off duty CMs from coming in.

When we went for the 60th, the day of was certainly crowded, but not as bad as other days we were there that week. I met an off duty CM waiting for the monorail that night. She said they had been banned from the parks that day to help keep crowds down. The only reason she was allowed in was because she was using her identical twins AP.

We have gone every July 4th for the past four years and it is EMPTY. It only gets busy when the sun starts to set and crowds come in for the fireworks. It's the conventional wisdom mistake. People assume it will be busy, so it's not. On days when people think it will be slow (Superbowl, for example), its slammed.
