MK fireworks viewed from the Poly beach has been our July 4th tradition, but we're thinking of branching out this year. How is the 4th at US/IOA? Is it possible to view fireworks from Citywalk - and would that have a chance of feeling a little less crowded?

We would NOT spend the day in the parks; maybe a couple early morning hours, then head back to our hotel for swimming or go see a movie, then venture out for dinner and fireworks.

I did 4th of July at IOA last year. The park wasn"t too bad overall in terms of crowds.

We attempted to watch the fireworks from Citywalk, but it wasn't too great because there is no sound to go along with what is happening with the US show and the view isnt very good. If you decide to watch the fireworks at Universal, I would watch them inside US if possible.

Fireworks are not as grand scale at Universal as at Disney due to the resort's proximity to surrounding neighborhoods. Fireworks are lower in the sky but can be just a spectacular. You would be better off going to the top level of the parking garage and watching the City of Orlando's fireworks display but if you're looking for a Disney quality fireworks display, you probably won't find it at Universal.

All good info and exactly what I needed - thank you! I suspect we may just take a break and stay home this year, but it's good to know our options. :thumbsup2
