We just got back from our trip to Fort Wilderness! It was wonderful! The cabin was great, the mousekeepers were so funny with the things that they did in our cabin. One day they had my daughter's stuffed cat in the hall with toilet paper wrapped around her. It looked like the kitty had been playing with the toilet paper. We all thought that was pretty clever!
I would love to do a detailed trip report but it probably isn't going to happen because I have to go back to work on Friday!
I don't think that I would stay at FW without a golf cart. It just made getting to all the places so much more fun! We rented a golf cart from Kenny and that was great also!
We had the dining plan, free with PIN code, but still having a kitchen was nice.
My son and I rode the horses and my daughter rode a pony. I think that there is an area that Disney is missing out on there. You have to be 9 to ride the pony but under a certain height to ride a pony. My daughter is a small, just turned 7 year old and barely made it under the line. I think maybe they should find a way to get those kids that are in between ages on a horse. That's another money making opportunity for the Fort!
We went to HDDR and it was fun. To my surprise, my 7 year old laughed the hardest of anyone. I thought that it was good, but I don't know that I will do it again. It was pouring rain the night we went and they didn't have a good system for getting people in out of the rain quickly. That may have added to my opinion though. My attitude may not have been great going into the show wet and then sitting in the freezing a/c.
We had a great trip, so much fun that we added an extra night! I loved Fort Wilderness. It was so nice to have the space and the calm atmosphere after being in the parks all day.
