Hi all - We are thinking of booking this cruise for next summer. We live about 2 1/2 hours from Dover so it would be nice and easy to get to unlike our cruise this summer on the August 15th Magic cruise which involved a transatlantic flight and then a 90 minute drive!

I wonder if any of you can tell me the pay in full date for this cruise - I thought I read it was earlier on the European cruises...

Full payment around May 2010...

We booked the flight this morning for Barcelona to Edinburgh on 11 August 2010 as we are staying in couple days to spend times in Barcelona...

also our in law are coming with us too...

trouble that they have not booking this cruise yet... typical of them...

That is great you booked your flights, now it is much harder to back out. Typical of in laws, I think about inviting mine but then I think of all the disapointment they cause when they back out of visits that I change my mind.

I realized that I have enough Airmiles and they have changed their reward program to allow open jaw tickets for 1 ticket so I am hoping to do that next week when the return flight opens next Friday. I am thinking about spending the day in Barcelona but I will see what flight options I have.

Glad you've booked flights! It makes the cruise seem even closer!
We're booking next month. Hoping that easy jet will sort some pricing from leeds bradford by then otherwise it'll be a monday flight back.
{There are no flights on tues or weds for us}

Have seen the Alaskan cruise anouncement. DH is very excited so might book this too.

We already booked with Royal Carribbean on April 2011 for my special birthday few months ago..

Now we wish we should wait until announcement.. we didn't think about it as thought it was about new ship...

We would love to visit Canada now too late as rcci would not refund our deposit....

But we thought we just leave it now...

Perhap Disney will do it again in future... maybe just two of us might go to Alaska? 2012 2013 or Hawaii I would love to do that....

Hope you manage to booking the flight... Our flight Flyglobespan only Sun or Wed so we choose Wed and have a more time in Barcelona.

It is not cheap for one way home...never mind unless we will be on this Cruise

I am hoping that 2012 they will cruise to Hawaii! Then we can do that one too! We might need to remortgage the house though

Sounds like your special birthday will be good though. We have neve sailed with anyone except DCL. I suppose it would be interesting to compare.... but I don't think DH would agree to chance it. We feel very special cruising DCL.

Here is another great blog, someone who did an NCL cruise the first 8 days are pretty much the same as the Dover to Barcelona cruise. This person did all the ports on their own and have some great ideas of things to do on your own.

We are going to Eastern with Freedom of the Seas... start at Port Canaveral.. I will put my blindfold on as I will be upset if I see Disney new ship..: but I alway want go on FOS ...

The price is realiable, as we booked balcony for my special birthday..and cannot believe that the ship is filling up already..

I am worry what IF I dislike it because we always with Disney Cruise as it always superb....

We give a try and think our kids will love it...

We can go back to disney cruise in future...

We had been with Carnival cruise for one year Anniversary and we enjoyed it but think Disney is BEST...

I want excursion info also just to have a starting point on what might be suitable for kids.

I listed above a website for Lisbon that has some great ideas for kids, sounds like there are some nice beaches around, but I bet the ocean is cold.

I used RCL, NCL, Holland America, and Princess. If you go to Holland America they stop in several of the same ports and have the shore excursions on their site by cruise.

Princess Cruises go to "Ports of Europe" and every port they stop at pops up. Select which city and then the shore excurtions are available. These way was much easier for me to use than attempting to look through all their "many" itineraries.

If anyone is looking for a Secret Porthole room, one is showing up today, and you can do the changes on line. I was able to get one for another cruise that I have booked.
