July 28, 2007 - Romeancing the Mouse in the Med Cruise Reunion thread!

With this much time to plan, we should be able to come up with something really fun -- maybe dinner and a Broadway show together?????:cool1: :cool1:

That would be sooooooo cool -yes please:thumbsup2 it was on one of my lists to do a broadway show -I have many lists :lmao:

You know I really appreciate your help - Next years holiday will be great - I just know it.

No problem -- when you get your plans finalized and next year rolls around, let's do some brain storming on what you would like to see . . .

This sounds really fun...........I hope some more of us can make it up to NYC (or down, Sandra.) We are cruising from the 18th to the 25th the week before, (so is Maryann), so maybe we could make plans later in the week that Helen & Dave are here.:woohoo:

I don't know if I mentioned this, but my oldest DD, Tara will be signing a yearlong lease in Brooklyn starting in October. So we will definitely be in NYC more this year! She finishes her schooling in December but will actively be seeking employment in the next few months.:dance3:

How's the girls, Julie? Did they enjoy the PC cruise?? Are you sailing next year?:confused3

I guess all the BTSN are over for you Mariann?

We are enjoying a quiet weekend down the shore. Glad the heat is finally over around here.

Dinner & a show sounds like a plan!!!! If I'm not mistaken, I think the only date that we can all be together on a weekend is the Sunday after our cruise, JoAnn. Is that correct Helen??? What date are you leaving NY?

I'm sure we could make it on that Sunday, I usually head back from the cruise on the day that we land.:cool1:

Its back to the Med and the Baltics in 2010, with an extended time in Europe, on more 10 and 11 night Meds, 4 12 night Baltics, and a repo between Barcelona and UK, 7 /8 nights. (The Phantom cruise).

SUMMARY of what we know, or think we know. Nothing confirmed as yet by DCL.

2010

There is a press event on October 6th,
We are told the information will be in ‘preview’ on DCL website from October 7th.
On sale is said to be October 21st, some reports of the 14th.

TRANSATLANTIC

There will be an Eastbound Atlantic repo, from Port Canaveral, which will be for at 14 nights on April 10, a transatlantic voyage, via Castaway cay to Barcelona; it arrives on 4/24 at Barcelona Spain.

In 2007, this was Castaway Cay, Six days at sea, Tenerife, Cadiz Spain, Gibraltar, and Barcelona.

THE MEDITEREAN-HOME PORT BARCELONA –PART 1

4/24 it begins with an 11 night sailing.
5/5 there's a 10 night,
5/15 an 11 nights
5/26 a 10 nights,
These look like the 2007 Med trips to Sicily, Naples, Rome, Sardinia, La Spezia for Florence and Pisa, Marseilles, and Villafrance for Monte Carlo.

WEST COAST EUROPE/ ATLANTIC TO UK-SMALL REPO

On 6/5 there's a 7 night. The Magic be travelling from, Barcelona to England.

A few small rumours of, Portugal, Madeira, Cadiz, Gibraltar? On the list, Western Europe, UK.

HOME PORT -UK

In Europe the home port is considered to be Southampton or Harwich, both UK. Both about 90 mins from London Airports Heathrow and Gatwick, but also Stansted for Harwich.

BALTIC

From port lists and schedules we have seen we have worked out there is most likely –
NORTHERNEUROPE.jpg

Four 12 night cruises to the Baltic’s from these home ports. I have been posting on various threads since April and more in May, that I felt it was the Baltic sea and Northern Europe, the appearance of the Disney Magic’s name being listed on the Copenhagen port schedule found by Steph, -Taysmom.
http://www.tv.cphport.dk/coins/KbhHa...enAgent&lang=1
for June and July has supported this, starting on June 15th at Copenhagen, and made us feel it is the Baltic, we have an arrival time of 7am in Copenhagen.

This is a screen print of the last one.

St. Petersburg in Russia is a popular cruise port and has been mentioned a lot, it clearly has been an integral and planned part of the Baltic cruises. A lot of cruise ships ‘overnight’ in St Petersburg.

We know Germany is included; the port of Warnemunde(for Berlin) has been mentioned a lot, and appeared on the port schedule for Denmark. In fact we have a departure time of 6pm from Germany.

Other ports mentioned, Gothenburg & Stockholm in Sweden.

First Baltic cruise is anticipated as June 12th, Last Baltic cruise ends July 30th in the UK.

WEST COAST EUROPE/ ATLANTIC TO BARCELONA-SMALL REPO-THE PHANTOM CRUISE
On July 30, it appears that there's going to be an 8 night sailing. This is back to Barcelona from UK. The reverse of the 7 night one above, (June 5th.)

THE MEDITEREAN-HOME PORT BARCELONA –PART 2
The schedule from there is the Med again, as above,
11 night on 8/7,
10 night on 8/18,
11 night on 8/28,
10 night on 9/8.
WESTBOUND REPO TRANSATLANTIC.

There will be a westbound transatlantic back following the same route as the Eastbound but in reverse, on 9/18, the Magic will be heading to PC via Castaway, on a 14 night transatlantic voyage
I understand a considerable number of people some 50+ have asked to be waitlisted for suites for summer 2010.
The 50% deposit offer from DCL is due to end October 1st, but I understand it could be extended for a final time of one month to October 31st and then end that would cover he release of 2010 cruises. However note often the special cruises have a higher deposit pp.
The Wonder will remain doing ¾ night cruises all 2010, a couple of 5 night ones, with two stops at Castaway cay and the Magic, will remain on its 7 night Caribbean trips from January to May and September to December, generally as now, might see a slight change in port schedule to cut down on fuel costs.
Tortola for example saves fuel on St Maarten on the Eastern. Port times could be reduced to allow the Magic to go slower on three engines.

So Andrew, what are you thinking of doing? I will have to see the final announcement, but I am leaning toward the last Baltic and the "phantom" one to get back to Barcelona . . . I loved the Med but think it would be nicer to see new ports in the Baltic rather than go back to the same ports in the Med . . .

That might be what I will do, the last Blatic and the Phantom cruise to Barcelona. Same reasons.

Excellent! So let's see what happens when they announce on Oct. 7 . . . sounds great to me, though. Fingers crossed that all these rumors come true . . .

It looks quite certain now, the DIS announcement has a lot of detail and marries up with what we know and what I herd over the months, I knew the 'dates' didn't tie up, thats why I kept posting about the phantom cruise, but didn't expect an extended run in the Med with the REPO's earlier and later than before.

DCL Just really think the money is in Europe to commit so much time to Europe in 2010.

I am thinking that they are using this summer to plan out what they will do when they have a ship based there in 2011 or 2012 . . . a combo of Baltics and Meds, with perhaps some British Isle cruises mixed in at times . . . maybe they will even go for Greek Isle cruises at some point!

At any rate, if the itineraries look as good as the rumors suggest, I think I am going to ask my TA to book the last Baltic and the mini-repo to Barcelona.

Thx Andrew for your thorough investigation........I'm not clear about the 8 day "phantom cruise?" Did you mention where the ports would be on that cruise.......again, I'm waitlisted but we have to get back before college "soccer/football" season is scheduled in August (this year it started on August 5th:confused3 ) My head is swimming....hmmm.......a July 18th northern European trip is intriguing.......thx again!:cloud9:

I'm a bit down as I dont think i'll be able to go to the baltic due to school not finishing until 20th July

I will see what the uk barca repo ports stop at but its only 8 nights

I hope the rest are not a repeat of 2007 med ports as Dave wont do that again. Different ports I'll have a chance.

So I'm waiting nervously for OCt 7th:confused3

I'm still mulling this over and thinking this plan may work for us but two cruise will probably be too long for us........I can't wait for the details!!:cool1:

Well, either one would be good, too! I can't wait for the details, either . . .

Ok, I just had a brilliant idea..........maybe.......Ken and I can do the Baltic July 18th........and then........the girls could join us for the REPO from UK to Spain!............what a great plan!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2
