There's no doubt that your schedule is much better than ours. You have so many options for travel throughout the year. The only time we're off, it is the highest expense weeks of the year. On the other hand, I feel like it was yesterday since both of us started our summers!!!

So do you guys not have much time off in the year except the long summer?

Yes this summer had flown by;)

Nope, we just get about a :confused3 week at Easter, Christmas and then a day here or there, it's tough for people who like to travel.

I was just saying to Dave tonight that its unusual for people in the USA to take more than 1 week for a holiday. - I understand whay now.

Here its quite normal to go away for 2 weeks at a time.

I am so excited - Dave thinks I'm mad but tomorrow Starbucks is opening a shop in our city :cool1: Last year I emailed the company and asked if they had any plans to come -I think I secretly started the ball rolling:rotfl:

Tomorrow 9am I'll be there and I think I'll treat myself to
a
Grand decaf mocha with whipped

My mam jokingly said I should cut a ribbon to open it:lmao:

How sad am I;)

MaryAnn I know how you feel - I never appreciated my bed until I began teaching.

ok Summer is over - I'm counting down till my next summer holiday.

Well I've been back at school today and its like we never been away.

Our starbucks opened on Saturday and I got my grande decaf moccha:worship: its pricey but worth it.

Joann - dave wants to know how much you guys pay in the USA for a starbucks ? He thinks its going to be a lot cheaper than ours.

I paid £5.15 ($10.30 approx) on Saturday for a grande decaf moccha and a grande cappachino.

oh well got to go and sort out my new timetable.

Take care all - hope you all have a great week ahead.

Hey Dave, I pay about $2 a day for my Venti coffee everyday, nothing fancy but so worthwhile!!:cool1: :goodvibes :lmao: ;)

Happy school year to all!!!:teacher:

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a wonderful day!

School must really be gettting the best of you because you have been quiet all week!:scared1:

I hope no one is getting too much rain from Hannah. I was really worried for our daughter Liz and her family as she had to work hurricane shelter duty, but she said not to worry for this one! Mom's always worry! I will be glad when the hurricane season is over!

Happy School Days!:cheer2:

Hi all,

Yes Harole Ann it has been a bit manic here - first week back an all (although we are 1 week closer to the summer holidays;) )

Glad you had a good birthday.

I'm a little anxious here - I'll tell you why

Dave left for his diving holiday on Wednesday. -He was flying to Egypt then instead of staying in a hotel (like a normal person) he and his friends are on whats called a liveaboard - basically a boat for the week so they can dive the red sea.

His flight was leaving Manchester @9am. I went to work - on my way out of work 5pm I turn on my cell phone to find I have a text from Dave saying that he was at Gatwick as his plane had to make an emergancy stop for engine trouble. Well as you can imagine I was a bit apprehensive so I started researching internet for phone numbers - I got through to someone at Gatwick who said they had left there at 4pm.

11.30pm I got a text from Dave saying that he had landed at Egypt - and that he had a 2 hour coach journey to get to the boat - he had added as a joke I hope - thats if the boat has waited for us:scared1:

Thats the last I've heard from him. I have tried sending a couple of texts and they have not been received by his phone - I only presume this means he made it on the boat and they are out to sea where there is no signal.

I did get a lovely bunch of flowers today from him (but that was arranged before him leaving, I checked with the flower shop).

Just hope he arrives back on Thursday:confused:

Joann - the weather has been very bad here - our local area is under flood watch- we have had very bad storms and heavy rain. (I'm right by the sea so the surface water drains away easily here). I really feel for you guys in USA with all the hurricanes - it must be awful. We have rain forcast all week:guilty: So i'm just picturing Dave lying on deck sunning himself:rolleyes2

Oh well I've got to go to bed - Im really tired

Night all take care
x:grouphug:

Wow, that's scary, please let us know when you hear from him. Hopefully, Dave's biggest problem is no reception.

The rain here is not as bad as we predicted, we're by the sea as well at our shore place. We checked out the blustery beach today with the Rents. We saw some lifeguards training in the high surf, how nuts is that? They were deep in the water doing saving drills. :confused3

School was brutal for us. The hurricane causes high humidity and we were in the 90s all week (That's about 36 for you guys.) The schools really need mandatory air conditioning. There are too many heat waves these days.:headache: It was nice meeting my new class, though!:yay:

Hi,

Yes I will let you know if I hear from him.

Have you guys been following the 2010 thread? It is kinda confirmed that the magic will be going to northern europe cruise. So one found the magic on a port list in copenhagen :goodvibes it was there every 12 days so it looks like 12 night cruises.

anyone still on for 2010? i know i am:cool1: :cool1:

They can't come all the way over here and not be around for the european school holidays?

OMG! Northern Europe cruise? I'm soooo poor now. We are building a barn and its almost done. Its bigger than the house but now I have a training area for my dogs and hubby has a garage for his boat and fishing gear and toys. I was just looking at the Adventures by Disney. Wow, I didn't know they did that. Jim wants to go to Galapagos Islands and South Africa safari. Too many things to do, so little money.

So whats going on with everyone? Who is on cruises this year? How about next year? I can at least enjoy by hearing about your vacation plans.
