July 28, 2007 - "Rome-ancing the Mouse Cruisers" -11 days!

i just looked at the disney website and they are selling the cat. 12 for 2 people for $3700. I just changed my cat. 11 to a 12 and saved $2000:banana: they did mess up my hotel and drop my excursions, but i was able to get everything back since i was checking to make sure everything was ok right after they made the change.

For thoose a bit concerned for me, I do intend to relax soon, just what the doctor ordered a nice break.

No trips to book, just a car to drive to the beach, if I can pull the kids away from the pool, this is my way to get my BP down! Better then Meds!

That is a trick they do to fill the ship, well done on you, you might still end up in something higher.

Basically its the lowest Cat, so people who have booked higher grades are less likely to convert as you have done. Therefore they loose less money, if they reduced the prices on CAT6/5 etc they would have a lot of refunds to make.

But Cat 12's are limited so by selling these cheap more people will be upgraded.

DCL sails often with 98% capacity, this is how they do it. Now they know after the 90 day pay day how many people are committed by paying up, they will fill the rest with discounts, but want to avoid loosing money on people who have paid at a higher price.

Where is it or are you hiding from the paparazzi (sp?)

For half term we are going away with the dogs in our motorhome. We have a competition in Yorkshire and are then stopping at a couple of sites on our way back north. Just hope the weather holds ok for us as 3 wet dogs in the motorhome for a week is not fun lol!

I am off to WDW (yes all the way from CA) for the weekend - wish me luck - the 1st time traveling alone since my young, independant days! I may be on but not sure yet. Am meeting some DIS boards friends from our 11 Night Cruise in Sept. YIPPEE!

I hate flying (LOL - imagine me in July???) OK all - will hopefully check back in later.!

As a few people couldn't make the 2pm time, we have had alternative suggestions (still on the Sunday) of 10am or 4pm.

What do people prefer? I dont mind either.
I'm just trying to get an idea of what people want.

Suggestions Promanade lounge, Out on deck somewhere - possibly deck 7 (not so secret verander?)

My daughter went to Sacred Heart and loved it. Yes we'll talk private vs. public. My daughter and her husband live in Levittown - Island Trees School district though, not Levittown. I taught 1st grade for 3 years when I first started teaching. Now that I'm older, I don't know how you do it! They are cute but tiring.

It is gone now!! You got a great deal!! It is still there for the 7-7 sailing....but not ours. My guess is our sailing and the one after ours are the most booked.

Holy Cow-!! I thought we were doing a lot...I just read some of the posts on that thread.. wow- they are doing so much, and have so many things planned- tee shirts, lanyards, name badges, secret Mickey, parties, scrapbook class, its amazing. I guess many of them know each other and live close since there are so many pre- parties.:eek: :eek:

I copied their meet info , dont know if its good or bad, but I thought another suggestion wouldn't hurt!

First Day Dis-meet: informal meet at 3:00pm, deck 10, starboard side, overlooking the Goofy pool. Stop by and meet people, get your name badges and lanyards, mini-navigators will also be available.


I love this magic fountain idea in Barcelona for those of us arriving a day earlier.. maybe some of us can do the same ???

Barcelona Magic Fountains: Come one, come all - to a FREE excursion before we set sail out of Barcelona. Kids, Cocker Spaniels (and their owners), adults and those in between are all welcome! SweetSue from the May 26th 11 Day cruise is putting together a group for this fun activity.

FRIDAY EVENING, May 25th: Enjoy the light, water and music show of the Magic Fountain! Show begins at 8pm and runs every 30 minutes until midnight. Time for our meet is 8PM. We will meet at the base of the fountain near the steps to the Museu National d'Art Catalunya. Take the Metro (or go by foot) to Placa Espanya. Go through the tall columns following the small water fountains until you reach the big oval Magic Fountain. We'll meet on the far side closest to the steps of the museum. Look for wild and crazy DISer's speaking English (it's kind of hard to miss a DIS group).

The DISmeet saga............ok, we could do 10am, or 4pm on Sunday..........my concern about the topdecks is it might be hard to find a spot big enough for all of us and the weather could be a factor.........The Promenade Lounge is usually pretty quiet at those times of day (unless something special is taking place there.) Another idea would be the main lobby where the central elevators are (is that Deck 4?)

Also, I think our consenus is to make one bag about $15-$20 with our hometown on front to exchange (to avoid space in luggage issues!)

no, i don't have a cabin number. i will probably have to wait until they send out our documents before i know. maybe they will "save" my old room.

there was a lot going on at disney today. i had to wait 10 min. before i could get in touch with a cast member, then i found out that my travel agent had to make the request and he had to wait another 15 min. they also had no clue that the price had changed, we both had to agrue with them about the price.
