He finished!! Ok, not fun.........congraduate my DH for being NUTS and finishing is first MARATHON............klawall@aol.com

Disney is still $310 per night...does that include taxes and everything? Andrew, which of the Disney hotels should I choose if we want to be close to the beach? Is the Grand marina worth the stay since we will not be backfor a very long time?

The $310 price includes everything, plus I think it might include a portion of the transfer (resort to boat) in that price. I called Disney and asked if it included everything, but forgot to ask about the transfer.

Grand Marina is the closest to the beach. There is a boardwalk, I believe, that you can walk to get to the beach further east of the hotel.
I think if you look at MV Photon's photo of Barcelona it gives you some perspective.

Andrew, I think I am down to these two...trying to decide if the $200 is worth it for the Grand Marina.....can you walk to a beach from the Grand Marina?

Gretchen (my DD10) e-mailed Alice last night. I told Gretchen that it was the middle of the night "Alice time"....she loved that idea!! Have you guys found other kids their age on the cruise? Our group of 25 is mostly adults....we have girls, 10, 12, 13 and boys 16, and 18.

I have no idea what Gretchen says.....she sends her own e-mails and I do not read them first. I hope it was at least legiable!!!

Alice has responded but is recovering from an operation, hopfully more contact soon i saw e.mail it was good.

Gran Marina i think is fairly close to the Beach they call it Barceloniat? some new front age, but best if you have time, get a train one day up to Blanes, beachs up there are great, or a boat to Tossa De Mar.

Anyone notice...........we're closing in on................5 months!!!:thumbsup2

I read every so often people post that the Med trips were not well taken up, in the press release for the two new DCL ships today the following is quoted, it confirms as we all know they are well subscribed.

New itineraries

Disney Cruise Line, which traditionally offers 3-, 4- and 7-night Caribbean cruises, has also enjoyed strong demand for new itineraries. Trips to the Mediterranean and to the West Coast have recently set booking records within the company and booked 30-50 percent faster than the existing itineraries at higher prices.

YES! I read the two new DCL ships post...........yea baby!! I want to go back to the Caribbean on DCL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Hola,

Hi all, I cant believe in the week I went to Spain disney announced 2 new ships !!!

Anyway I got back yesterday after a lovely relaxing break.:beach: I am also pleased to report I was able to order in a restaurant, shop, and instruct taxi drivers where to go - (i've been taking Spanish classes:flower3: )

The hotel was lovely -very posh (I booked with them direct and only paid 60 Euros a night.:goodvibes ) Very near to the hotel were a couple of very reasonable supermarkets. (that sold some very reasonable wine:flower3: )

Weather was in the early 20's and we only had 1 overcast day with a bit of drizzle -but being British we didn't let that spoil us.

One problem though - I now can't wait to get to Barcelona and to get on the cruise;) :hourglass

Oh well we have nothing in the fridge and mountains of washing is unbelieveable - so I'd better get on :laundy:
Take care all

I have been to town this morning and opened up a new savings account. It is fixed for 2 years -when that matures I will open another 2 yr one. Hopefully by then I will have saved enough to get on the 2012!!!;)

For me its far to far in advance to consider, plus whilst I know in due turn these will be nice ships I would not wish to be on the first few cruises, you hear of so many problems with new ships and, I would let them settle down first.

Plus as soon as they come into service I bet the Magic and Wonder will be cheaper.

yes it does seem slow....... Reading one of the other thread and some people(CC memebrs) seem to of struggled getting palo reservation and 1st chocie of some of the DCL excursion( convertable car one seemed to be popular!) does everyone know what they want to book? we have a while until we are able to book :-(

I think the 90 days will be around April 27th/28th for us, I have made my own private tours in most places so will worry less this time, in the couple of places without my own trips I not that bothered as i think they will be the least popular ones.
Waiting for the Med packet.

Thanks for the tip, Ruth, I still haven't decided what to do in each port, I've made some preliminary plans but I'm not sure, March is my month to make my final decisions.......

I agree, Andrew, I was thinking the same thing about the Inaugural trips, but I signed up. I think my biggest fear is that the ship won't be ready and it will be postponed.....

Happy Oscar Night to all!!!!!!!!!! :happytv:

If i cruised at that time i would stay on the DM and DW as I bet their rates will go down and there could be issues on the new ships until they settle down.

Plus I think the DM/DW will move to different specail trips leaving the new cruise ships to do the bread and butter stuff in the Carribean.

Please direct me to the number/website where I can sign up for the inagural cruises.

Hopefully by 2011/2012 I don't have to worry about school schedules anymore.

Happy Oscars to everyone too. I hope I will be able to stay up for them.
