We can do whatever, but it may be dictated by how much printing space we have. I had actually started working something up on paper. Once I know what size and kind of product we will go with it will be easier to show the group some options.

I failed to mention that our DD Madelynne will turn 8 on 8/30 and DD Megan will be 16 on 9/16 (but she is still lobbying for us to allow her a glass of wine in Italy since the legal age is 16 I understand). Most of all, the cruise is our Tenth Anniversary present to each other. Anybody that can stand me that long deserves something this nice. :thumbsup2

Brian

Have updated your celebrations, wont show on the post above as it crossed the same time.

I'm a scrapbooker too!!!!

Ok, Andrew
I guess my celebration is my 50th birthday, but my birthday is in October.

My 50th is Sept 4th!!
We will have to have a drink together

My husband's 50th last year, he went to the Grand Canyon with his buddy.
It was also our 25th anniversary.
Now its my 50th this year.

Ok so far I have the following interest:
Me 9 + extra (for the grab bags)
Jlawall 7
Eeyorelvr10 6
kidcoos3 5
Andrew UK 4
Salliep 3
Pixie DustII 4 - likes the reel up one - is that option 2?
AnnaS 5
disneymagic316 9
MrsG 2
MrsJobba1 2
Lovebeast 4
Iowazipcode 8
disneylover 5 5
formerCper 4 graphics skills:cool1:
10yrann 8
MaryJo 3
LynnTarrant 2
so we are at about 92. Getting closer to 100.

I'm just seeing if there is enough interest to even place an order. Once I see enough interest, my plan is to ask/vote what people want exactly, what it should say, what color, etc. I was thinking of ordering once I get everyone's payment and bringing them to Barcelona to pass out. So cost should be around $2.50 to $3.50 depending on what we choose. Here is a link to some samples.
The other DISsers have used the 1/2" lanyards and say they are very comfortable.
http://www.kennyproducts.com/Mercha...&Store_Code=KPI&Category_Code=Custom-Lanyards
Here are the badge holders that attach to the lanyard or badge reel:
Badge holder vertical http://www.kennyproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=372
This is the one that the other cruises recommend: http://www.laminationstation.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=806&item=BH506F&type=store

Options:
1)1/2" custom printed lanyard with badge holder ($2.50) http://www.kennyproducts.com/Merchant2/LAN101sample3.htm
1a) Same as option 1 but adds a badge reel for about a $1. (Really, this is an add-on option) The badge reel is removable, so you can just wear it clipped to you belt or purse when you don't want to use the lanyard. We only need a minimum order of 10 blank badge reels. ($3.50) http://www.kennyproducts.com/Mercha...en=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=425-blank
2)plain lanyard and custom printed badge reel ($2.50): http://www.kennyproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=424

formerCper, did you see the above links for what the lanyards look like? Is that big enough? There's the 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4". They are double sided. We could probably find the Disney font for printing. I have samples being mailed to me so I can see what it looks like.

:off-topic: (a little)
Hi cruise scrap-bookers!!!
I wish there was going to be time and room to carry some cropping supplies- we could have had a crop night- LOL:thumbsup2
I was at a scrapbook conference last month and got such great paper with maps of most of our stops printed as the background- I got a magnificent Eiffel Tower paper with the tower being a huge die-cut ( we are spending a night in Paris before the cruise) - I will check the back of the paper to see who the manufacturer is if anyone is interested-!! I started buying supplies and papers dealing with the med. theme a while ago- I have already done a page about this thread- with some of the posts as my background and my post cruise journaling ( cost concerns, so much still to do around the house, you only live once, time is short- etc.)
I am planning on taking notebook and hope to journal each day so I will have it ready when we get home and all the pictures start rolling in !!
Maybe we can post our pages when we get back!!
Sallie:disrocks:

I did a journal on the Panama Canal cruise and it worked great. I would never had remembered all the stuff that went on. I took the navigators home too. I do most of my scrapbooking with Creative Memories products. They have lots of Disney stickers, die cuts, papers, princess kit, Mickey and Pooh kits. I can't believe they are discontinuing the princess kit! I didn't even think about getting stuff for each port! Thats a good idea. Actually, I think creative memories has a pack of stickers for London, paris and italy. I'll need to go look. We'll have to be on the look-out for scrapbooking ideas and share while we're on the cruise. There is no way I could bring scrapbooking stuff, I have way to much stuff to bring as it is. We are trying to pare down to one suitcase each, but where are the souveniers going to go???:confused3

Can somebody tell me how many DIS'ers total for the grab bags? I found what I want to order to give everyone - just need a quantity.

Also also to Andrew - I'd love to also order whatever that is that you're making for the cruise - put me down for 12 of them and I can paypal or whatever you want.

Thanks!

Pixie dust,

Susy

OK, let's discuss the grab bags.........on a former cruise, we did a $10 grab bag from our local area...........on this thread some have suggested $15-$20.
Either idea will work for me, but probably $15-20 would make a better bag (just one bag per family). Then we could exchange bags one day as a DISmeet. Now, I think we should meet early in the week so that we can have a few "friends" onboard? I think that would be fun. I've noticed that many different cruisers are going on my selected excursions and it would be fun to see them again during our weeks together.

I'm thinking a meet on the first or second day.

So..........does everyone agree about the $15-20 range? Can we decide on our meet location? Let me know what you think!

Welcome to all the new members and thx again for organizing the lanyards!

:dance3:

Hi,
I'm new to this board and I'm wondering if someone could explain the grab bags. I've seen talk about costs and when to exchange but what are the details and how does it work?

I like the idea of meeting early and knowing people around the ship and possibly on excursions. I have noticed that others are on some of our excursions too.

Sandra

Ok - so its 97 degrees out and what do I find my dogs doing? I return from picking up DD14 from school to find this: Playing footbal and horsing around!

Obviously they had the right idea - only they could have done it earlier as now they take forever to dry!

ok - here's a picture of me and one of my high school friends taken about 23 yrs after we graduated (1984 - June) so almost 23 yrs later. I am the one on the left. So now you can all recognize me - I used to have blonde highlights in Sept of '06 so I look a little different. I like my reddish hair although it takes more upkeep now - now I'm forced to go in right at 6 weeks but much better than 4-5 weeks! Can't have those roots showing! :scared1: Here's my strategy - I figure I'll confuse everyone when they see my kids - I have 1 Blonde, 1 Brunette and 1 Red head - so I just pick one to emulate! :lmao:

Hi All,

Andrew can you add us under celebrations-(unless you put us there already.) We're celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary.

Thanks.

Lanyards - I like the Rome-ancing the Mouse etc. Afterall, it's been our tag for so long. Also something that holds the key to the world card would be nice too. If not, whatever you all decide is fine with us. Just let us know about payment.

You guys are great!

FormerCPer
I got the samples lanyards today. The 1/2" is a shoelace that is really more like 4/10" wide.
I also got another wider lanyard that is a just a hair under 1/2". Its more of a flat polyester tube. It looks really nice but I'm not sure if its considered to be the 5/8" or the 3/4" lanyard. Its labelled Item # 412C which of course doesn't match anything. I'm going to have to call and see which one this is.

The lanyards can be printed on both sides. If we want a second color its $0.10/pc + $40 which would add $0.50 per lanyard. The 1/2" is $1.93. the 5/8" is $1.97 and the 3/4" is $2.02.They need 2 weeks to make up the lanyard. The samples I got were in royal blue which looks nice on the bigger lanyard. The 1/2" lanyard looks more like dark blue. Maybe thats what they sent me. It looks like with the white writing.

Hi Andrew,

I don't know if this qualifies as a celebration or not... But, this is a special trip for me because I figure this will be the last big trip that I will take with just my children. My ds is 19, and my dd is 18. They already split their time between their dad & me (we're divorced), and at their age they'll soon have significant others, work, school, and time will be even more precious. So, I'm taking advantage while I can. :)

Here's a pic of the three of us:

Mary Jo, Nick, & Kelly

And here are my dd, Kelly, & me playing a MouseAdventures game at Disneyland last Sunday with fellow DISers, Califgirl & Tink33. There were 3 categories, and 85 teams in the basic category. We came in #13 out of 85 teams. :woohoo:

:wave2: Helen - I love your pictures - Floss looks fantastic and I especially love your photographer! Great sports action - what type of camera do you use? Are you on the sidelines or on the course when you take them?

Also, you guys look great. I must tell you - you guys look familar - what other cruises have you guys done? I would swear I've seen you before - even your spouse looks a little familar.

Oh well, maybe its just that have talked so much here 0 yeah that might be it! :thumbsup2

Hi Joann

Can I just clarify the grab bags as the more I
read on the thread the more I am starting to get confused. (as my tag says I get easily confused ;) )

I understood we were going to make one gift bag with a total value 0f $15-$20. In the bag we put a gift for one family, it could be something from our home town / country etc. Then at our dis meet we place the bag on a table and we pick up a bag for ourselves. Right?

I think it would be too complicated to try and match boys / girls gifts etc.

Have I got the right idea?

As for the Dismeet - I agree that it should be on the Sunday. Perhaps 2pm at the prom lounge?

oh by the way I just noticed on our reservation on the DCL website that your families names are noted on our reservation - Lynn's are not though

Oh well take care
Helen x
