Okay, I tried one more time to get a spa reservation and no luck.

I finally took called dcl and was told that I cannot reserve over the phone. She told me to try deleting my cookies and folders or something (which I have done already for other reasons). She also suggested that I try from another computer/laptop. The only other option was on the ship. I will try again later from my son's laptop.

If not good - will give up for now.

Hope everyone is well.

Anns I wish you luck - computers are both a blessing and a nightmare. I had no problem this afternoon reserving and there were lots of time slots and treatments available.

Hey Sallie and Anna :offtopic:

I thought of you guys last night when I was watcing CSI Newyork one of my fave shows. They mentioned one case was from long island and I said blurted out "oh thats where Sallie's from" dave just shook his head:flower3:

Hi Kyla - I'm a bread person and grew up on corn tortillas - I was naturally thin up until 14 years ago - I discovered something that my trainer says is good if it can hold you over. I corn tortilla and 1 slice of turkey like from Oscar Meyer warmed up over the griddle can hold me over for a couple of hours and is a great protein solution. The corn torillas is about 70 calories with 10 from fat and the turkey slice (round type) is usually from 30-35 calories with 15 calories from fat or 0 calories depending on the maker - Butterball if you can find it contains 0 calories. Anyway, total calories is 100 calories and 25 from fat but the protein in the turkey is a good holdover until you can get a more decent meal. I just warm up the tortilla in a griddle and also warm the turkey slice - its quick, easy and easy to count. I eat one just before I work out with or w/o a yogurt depending on how I feel.

Do you have any suggestions - my food Nazi watches everything I bring into the house and she's been my conscience. I too agree witu you - and Mrs. Jobba1 - its not fair that men can lose it faster - we have to work harder. So unfair! :confused3

If anyone else has any suggestions, toss them in the ring - Oh yeah - one major FYI about me? I rarely cook - I don't like a lot of beef - prefer chicken, and lately like veggies alot.

Laura,
you sound like my twin, except I don't think I was ever skinny. I've been fighting my weight since I can remember. I'm short asian cross weighing 145lbs and I need my rice! I'm a night person and not a morning person. I couldn't eat breakfast for the longest time but now have been able to incorporate that for the last few of years now. I stopped drinking tea for the most part and drink mostly water now but sometimes I fall back on the tea as my main liquids. I use to have all these little snack tricks while on Weight Watchers but can't remember them now. I'm also very shy in person, but my hubby makes up for me since he is a talker.:rolleyes1 I use to cook all the time, now hubby has taken over hence the removal of sugar and carbs. I don't really like eating beef that often and prefer chicken, tofu, veggie, but hubby is a big time beef eater and likes all that fat on it:sad2: I can't stand fat, yuck! I have to cut it off. Well, pups are calling me. Got to go.

Here is my weight story:

I am 5'8" and I weighed 177 on Jan 1st this year. I wanted to loose 27 pounds by our cruise. I have limited my calories to 1200 per day. I do not exercise....although I wish I had time. I do walk the dog.

So far, I have lost 16 pounds. I weighed 161 this morning. I seem to have stopped losing weight. I told my husband if I want to keep losing I most likely will have to figure out how to fit in working out in the schedule. Those last 11pounds do not want to drop off.

You folks are great. I was just about to reach for a piece of chocolate while browsing the board, but thanks to you, I'm having a cup of coffee (no sugar, skim milk) and no goodies. I, too, have a few pounds to lose. I've done it before and will again (it's just that chocolate lava cake is soooo wonderful).

Anyway, Helen, I feel your pain, literally. I,too, had a ruptured disk back in 1996. I waited two years until I couldn't take the pain anymore (nothing helped) and then had spine surgery. They removed the disk, put in synthetic bone, and fused the vertebrae together. Luckily it was the lowest (lumbar) disk. The only thing I could never do again, according to the doctor, was touch my toes. That would have been a miracle if I could, because I never could before:rotfl2:

Seriously, glad you are feeling better. Wish you the best.

And you, too, Andrew. Are you on meds for high bloodpressure? My DH used to get a migraine-like headache every 6 mos or so for years. They got a little more frequent but once the doctor put him on meds for high blood pressure (he was always boarderline and he's still not very high at all) the headaches stopped and he hasn't had one in years. Hope you feel better, too.

Maryann

I had the same problem using Firefox. Switched to IE and had no problem. We got all our reservations before some peak times closed out.

Thx to all for the inspiring stories!! I am proud to say that I finally worked out this morning. I usually go at night, but it's been tough lately.....I got up at 5:30am and was finished before work at 7:45am! Anyone impressed!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2

... hubby is a big time beef eater and likes all that fat on it:sad2: I can't stand fat, yuck! I have to cut it off. .

Kyla - my DH is also a BIG BEEF eater - me - can't stand the smell or touch of it :yuck: - along with my other quirky quirks I have this thing about touching raw, red meat, not sure how I got this as I used to do a lot of cooking and mainly with red meat as a young married couple. Now - its a big joke around here although everyone has acclimated themselves to not eating meat - except for poor dear hubby - kids and I and even the dogs prefer chicken -in fact that's about 90% of our diet. I agree with you - fat, meat - :scared1:

CONGRATS!!!!! :cheer2: That is a job well done - we all know how hard it is to lose weight and to do it all alone w/o benefit of exercise is fantastic. :thumbsup2 Stick to the plan, you may have hit a plateau - I hit one of those about 2 years ago - I was stuck at the same weight for about 4 months - I didn't actually go up which was good but it did finally start back down - I finally had to shock my system into acting up - and when I started losing weight again, it crept off. Just take it one day at a time.

I have always been kinda pooh sized. Although with Weightwatchers and regualar excercise 8 years ago I managed to lose just over 50 lbs for my wedding.

However since then it has crept back on, although being unable to excerise has been part of it. My lower discs in my back have degenerated, infact on Castaway Cay Aug 2005 I had a disc rupture (nightmare). ...

I am watching what I eat, but my goal is to try and do my exercise bike everyday. ( I have a recumberent one so that it does not put stress on my lower back.
I have just finished this mornings session:goodvibes

Whilst looking @ the 12 weeks, I am taking it 1 day at a time.

I do love my food though:flower3

Helen - CONGRATS :cheer2: you deserve that - 50 lbs is a major milestone and as my counselor used to say - you didn't put it on overnight - don't expect to take it off overnight. Especially with your ruptured disc, you make sure you take it easy and are cleared for any activity - we don't want you missing out on this trip. In the meantime, I say - Baby Steps - however small is still a step. If you can incorporate a good habit into your system - it takes time to show but it can last forever. Remember this - it takes about 21 days to develop a habit - 3 weeks is pretty good if it benefits the rest of your life! And don't forget - we're here now - so you can talk, write if it makes you feel better!

BTW, when in August 2005? You by chance didn't do the Magic Repo did you? I was there in 2005 (Magic) did you hurt it on the ship, doing an excursion? Just curious, when I was on the ship I thought I heard about someone getting hurt - hurting their back. Not you I presume?

Sorry to say still bad, thanks for asking.

Andrew, :grouphug: and pixiedust: being sent your way in the hopes that you feel better, I am starting to wonder if the headaches I get periodically aren't do to BP. Whenever I go to the Dr - it shows up fine but I remember it hid for a while when I had it during pregnancy - know that a whole another story but I CLEARLY remember that feeling - I was told to lie on my left side - that that would help reduce it - don't know if it helps or not. In the meantime, please take it easy - I know your in pain but this too shall pass, and - YOU CANNOT MISS THIS TOAL! :thumbsup2 We need you!

OK - looks like I'm getting the hang of multi-quoting - wow - I am learning a new trick at least once a week seems like! I'm so proud of myself - I even learned to download my new ipod (OK - I read the manual - but I downloaded it myself w/o any help! ;) Since you all don't know me it - I am such a technophobe that anything electronic and new is a major milestone for me - I am so proud of myself! OK - there's my pat on the back.

OK here's a question for you all -

What recent thing have you done, learned, earned, etc. that you are most proud of? We always take pride in each other's achievements or special moements, it's about time we take a moment out and respect and acknowledge something of ourselves. I started (see above) who's next?

(OK - cheap shot at starting conversation. But if it works - we will be sailing along here soon!)

I am - CONGRATS!!!!! and more pixiedust: for you - maybe you can inspire us all to get up early! (I am a notorious for getting up late - and even worse on the ship)

Keep up the good work! One day at a time
