Make sure to check your reservations closely when they arrive. When we got ours they had 2 of our 3 cabins confirmed on the wrong cruise.

We have also two cabins reserved. One with DVC and one with DCL. We did just receive two days ago the confirmation from DCL - not DVC. We requested specific cabins numbers and so far so good. I did check both reservations on-line and all looks good.

RE PALOS Had a quick response from DCL we can put in a group request for Palos for Brunch and also Dinner, I was suggesting Brunch first sea day, out of Barcelona and Dinner on the middle sea day.

We need 14 adults, thoose showing interest so far are:-

PALOS 07/28

ANDREW DEREK X2
MRS JOBBAL X2
LYN TARRANT X 2
A J DONN?
COTOMOM X 2
jlawall Ken & I I'm sure Bill & Alice x4

12/14?

Brunch / dinner both, please let me know.
PLEASE CONIFRM IF INTERESTED, THEY WILL THEN NOTE AND RECHECK 30 DAYS BEFORE SAILING DATE.

Normal Palos cost of $20 pp required.

SUGGEST YOU ALL PM ME WITH YOUR NAMES AND RESSIE NOS SO I CAN ADVISE DCL.

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

Count us in too...... Don't know if my DH will be able to get the time off of work, but we've booked it and are planning on cruising with or without him ;)

I'll have a DD that will be 10 1/2, a DS that will be 8, me and my DH (mid 30's), and a Grandma with us!

Kendra :cheer2:

Hi Kendra,
Just wanted to say welcome and what cute dogs you have ;)

Also hi to all the other newcomers :wave2:

Is anyone booked on any DCL cruises before the MED?

We are!!

The first week in Nov we are doing a 7 day Western!! That will get us ready for Summer 2007!!

HI there!

We are fortunate enough to be sailing this summer 7-29-06 Western with kiddos and DD's BF. Then we are sailing Eastern as a couple in September!!! I know that we are getting to sail with a couple of other MedHeads!

We have not gotten a confirmation, has anyone else not gotten the paperwork in the mail from Disney? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Still no paper work on our end. We did DVC and also booked DCL for a friend's cabin.

Hi,

I've been reading the post on the general cruise board regarding hotels.
It says that DCL are offering;

Hilton Barcelona $295
AC Barcelona $270
Grand Marina $310
Hesperia Presidente $235
Atenea Mar $230

I was just wondering what every one was doing? Has anyone booked through DCL? We have booked our cruise through DVC, we used points for 1 person and paid cash for the other. As we had to pay for the person we dont have any spare cash at the moment to book a hotel if we have to pay up front.

Can anyone recommend any good websites to book with?
As the flight details from UK aren't out till summer I think we'll probably leave it till then. ( but I think we'll probably have 3 nights in Barcelona before the crusie)

We've still had no written confirmation from DVC but my barclaycard was debited on 4th april for the cost of 1 person ! ;)

Take care
:wave2:

I also noticed the $75 charge for my DVC reservation but like I said earlier, no confirmation from DVC.

You can check it on-line.

We are hoping to book our own air as soon as it is available and will cancel it on the cash ressie.

I don't think we are doing any pre or post cruise hotel - my dh and my two sons who work p/t cannot take more than two weeks off. I would have really, really tried a bit harder if the port was in Rome.

PALOS

Thank you for PM's still space left before I contact DCL again. Please PM me if interested with ressie no.

BEFORE CRUISE

I plan to book up the coast a bit somewhere like Blanes, fly into and out of Barcelona from London.

Whilst transfers or car hire required, Blanes and that part of the coast is nice, better than a beach in Barcelona, and itso n the train line so i can travel to/from City, Airport etc.

Hotel costs are better out of the city, and I have found a few on half board cheeper than the City hotels.

Will book flights in September when they come out.

Insurance will use a UK company

Before the cruise I'm planning on going to Barcelona for 2 nights. I've been checking out the hotels in the area, but haven't really decided yet on which one we'll be going to. Since I've traveled around Spain a bit (not Barcelona, though), I'm not too worried about staying so close to the port, so we could stay someplace else, & then take a taxi when we're ready to board.

I have relatives who live in the north of Spain, & we'll be visiting them, too, but I think I'd like to visit them after the cruise, instead of before, and I also want to go to DLP - if I can fit it in $ wise. They live in Asturias, which isn't close to Barcelona.

I'll be checking flights from Los Angeles - Barcelona, and train travel, too - depending on what we want to do.

I got my insurance through dcl.

Wow, this thread has grown. I'm booked for this cruise. Can't wait. :cool1: There is a total of 9 of us on 3 reservations. I've never been to the Med but thought Disney would be the best way to do it. I've done the repo through the Panama Canal in May 2005 and a couple of other earlier cruises with DCL. Don't understand all these abbreviations yet that everyone uses, but I guess I will catch on.

Thanks for the list!

Helen - would you mind sharing the book you found on the European Cruise ports? Matt and I went to Barnes and Noble this weekend and couldn't find a book that was the right one for this cruise so we're looking for suggestions.

Oh and we speak only English and I have a little spanish (can order a beer and get to the bathroom :thumbsup2 ) so we'll need to brush up on Italian.

Hi sorry it took a long time to tell you about this book  . It came last week while I was away.

DK (Dorling Kindersley) Eyewitness travel guides
Cruise Guide To Europe and the Med.
Cost £14.99 ( I paid £2.50 on ebay :goodvibes ) published 2001

This book is good but I don't think its worth paying the proper price for it. See if you can find it in the library.
It has info on lots of European countries ( not just Spain, France & Italy)
All of our ports are covered ( usually 2 pages per city) basic map of city, key sights, fact file inc markets, shopping specialities, local food specialities and excursions.

Hope that helps
:thumbsup2
